Oklahoma City, Okla., July 3, 2018 -- Following the massively successful showing at Scrapin the Coast 2018 in Biloxi, MS late last month, DD Audio is now preparing to represent and demo at The Custom Sounds Texas Heat Wave show, July 20-22nd at the Travis County Expo Center in Austin, Texas. Here are some highlights from the Scrapin trip as well as some previews for Heat Wave.

Scrapin the Coast

Scrapin the Coast made good on its “Wildest Show on the Coast” promise this year for tens of thousands of visitors. As one team member noted, from a high vantage point the pavement disappeared under the sea of people that flowed from one amazing custom vehicle to the next.

One such custom vehicle to get a great deal of attention at this show was none other than the beastly DDKong! It was made abundantly clear from the interest and the comments that word has spread since the uncaging at Slamology: “DDKong is the must see, must hear build” for DD fans.

Speaking of fans, congratulations to Terry Wendell Vickers Jr. who won a Limited DDKong T-Shirt and Camillia Lecuyer who won a pair of DXB 1.1 Wood Earbuds for their participation in the #DDKong social media photo contest.

The Custom Sound Texas Heat Wave

Texas Heat Wave is the demo team’s third show this year and the third stop on the DDKong Tour, but this “Custom Truck, Car, and Audio Event with incorporated Tattoo Expo” is promising to be the hottest show of the summer-- and not just in Fahrenheit. Stunt shows, burnout and hydraulic contests, monster trucks, and much more make this a must visit for DD Audio. Of course, you don’t have to twist anyone’s arm to get the DD demo team to visit Austin. It goes without saying it’s great town known for its eclectic community of artists which makes it an ideal hub for customizers and audio enthusiasts in the southwest. These guys will gladly make the relatively short 400 mile drive down I-35 with DDKong to provide system demos all weekend.

NOTE! Regardless of what DD team member Aaron Trimble tells visitors, demos do not cost four spareribs from Franklin’s BBQ, they are in fact FREE. Attendees, don’t forget to upload a photo or video on social media of the DDKONG, with the hashtag #DDKONG , for chances to win a limited edition DDKONG/SHTNONM shirt and DD Audio Lifestyle gear!

And finally, check out the DDKONG Web Series!

RAM, Ford F-150 models get upgraded Bluetooth, new tuner, better user interface, among new features.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIF., July 2, 2018 (MEDIAWIRE) –LinksWell Inc., manufacturer of smart, integrated vehicle safety enhancements for the aftermarket, announced it is shipping two new versions of its flagship T-style multimedia centers. The T-Style RAM and T-Style F-150 (both MSRP $1995.00) have gained hardware and software enhancements to address connectivity issues with first-generation products as well as retain more factory features in the F-150.

LinksWell T-style multimedia centers fully replace the factory entertainment and climate control systems, providing a single integrated touch-screen interface from which all functions are accessed. In addition, the T-style units easily expand to provide more camera views than factory systems, along with DVR camera control to aid in driving and maneuvering. Thanks to its Android™-powered architecture and Wi-Fi capability, the T-style takes advantage of hundreds of apps—including Waze™, Pandora Radio®, Spotify®, SiriusXM® and Google Play Music™ —to make the drive safer and more entertaining.

The second-generation models fit the 2018 version of the RAM and 2017-2018 F-Series line. Both receive an upgraded tuner to match OEM specifications, minimizing signal drift in fringe areas. Bluetooth is also improved with an upgrade to version 4.0, resulting in longer range and a more reliable signal. The user interface (UI) of each model has been reimagined to allow simpler access to commonly used features and enable faster absorption of visual information.

The T-Style F-150 builds on these enhancements. It is fully compatible with the factory-installed, 360-degree camera system on select models. From a design perspective, its bezel now accommodates the new array of up to six buttons located above the factory display, enabling drivers to retain access to ambient lighting and massage seat controls. An optional integration package allows compatibility with the factory-installed Bang and Olufsen audio system found on premium models. Regardless of factory options, the T-style F-150 will accommodate all late-model F-Series trim levels.

While other manufacturers produce units similar in design to the T-style multimedia centers, the similarity ends at the outer casing. T-style units feature custom hardware and software enhancements developed by in-house engineers that allow the units to reliably integrate with factory data and climate control systems. Each unit is thoroughly tested in actual installations from LinksWell's headquarters in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

"Truthfully, we've had some difficulty in communicating a message that differentiates our products from imitators due to the visual similarities," said Walt Detlefsen, national sales manager for LinksWell. "But the introduction of these two models, with more to come, speaks for itself. With the dedication of our engineering and R&D teams, as well as feedback from our dealer base and their installers, we are constantly working to improve our product and deliver the best possible usage experience for drivers.”

Both new models will ship in July. For more information, visit linkswellinc.com, or contact Walt Detlefsen at (909) 375-0631 This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Backed by more than 25 years of automotive electronics engineering, LinksWell delivers in-vehicle safety, entertainment and integration products that feel and function like factory-installed components. Our goal is to enhance the driving experience with seamless solutions that add to the existing complement of driver features. LinksWell is a subsidiary of Sintegrate, a worldwide manufacturer of OEM Integration components with facilities in China, Europe and the U.S. Sintegrate engineers, develops and builds products in-house with a dedicated team of data bus hardware and software personnel. APBX 10 AS -- Active Sub Box

June 29, 2018 -- The Prima APBX 10 AS active subwoofer, with 10-inch driver, features a dedicated high performance amplification module which enhances all the passive box technologies, such as the2S² (2 Sides / 2 Sounds) design, the plug-and-play terminal block and ultra-compact size.

The amplification module, with power outputs of 400W RMS is developed withhe-li technology (high efficiency / low impedance), which thanks to the absence of the DC-DC voltage booster reaches the impressive 90 percent efficiency level, very close to the theoretical limit of the D-Class. Eliminating the voltage booster was made possible thanks to the development of the new dual coil drivers, which inherit all the technological background of the Prima subwoofers, but differ for the ultra low impedance (0.16 ohms for APBX 10 AS).

This feature ensures a perfect synergy with the he-li (High Efficiency Low Impedance) technology, maximizing the combination of amplifier, speakers and sealed box, to obtain low, powerful and crisp frequencies.

The controls section is complete and provides an optimal regulation of the low frequency emission in the car cabin. The Butterworth low pass filter at 12dB/Oct. with variable cut-off frequency (50-200 Hz) can be bypassed, when used with an AP bit processor with pre-out output dedicated to the sub. The adjustable bass-boost control (0 ÷ 6 dB) at 45 Hz allows the user to emphasize the response in the lower side of the spectrum.

The high-level speaker-in input on multi-pole connectoreases the integration with OEM audio systems while the low-level input on RCA is dedicated to the connection with after market sources. The subwoofer automatic turn on/off function ART (Automatic Remote Turn-On) can be configured to be controlled by the source’s remote signal, by the voltage variation on the high-level input or by the audio signal on both inputs. Phase control (0 – 180 °) completes the equipment. The SSP (Sub Smart Plug) terminal block is provided with a single plug-and-play connector to be able to disconnect the box easily and safely.

The APBX10AS comes in at a very thin 5.16” and will fit under the rear seat of a full size pickup like the Ford F150, etc.

It is rated at 150W RMS @ 2Ω and designed with a PWM MOSFET power supply and thermal protection circuit. CAMARILLO, CALIF., June 21, 2018 (MEDIAWIRE) – Nick Wingate, mobile electronics industry veteran and national trainer for Orca Design and Manufacturing, competed in and won the Sound Quality Tournament of the sixth annual SQOLOGY Aggieland sound-off competition, held June 9-10 at Mobile Toys Inc., a retail store in College Station, Texas. Wingate received a score of 216.95, edging out fellow competitor and longtime friend Steve Head, who scored 216.45.

Wingate's 2014 Chevy truck served as canvas for the winning build of Orca-represented lines, which included Illusion Audio C3Cx and Focal 165F drivers run by the Mosconi Gladen Zero 4 amplifier. A single Raven 12 XL subwoofer anchored the system, powered by a matching Gladen Zero 3. Sony's RSX-GS9 Digital Media receiver and the Mosconi Gladen DSP 8to12 Areospace signal processor provided precisely-tuned audio.

To eliminate resonance issues, more than 400 pounds of sound-deadening material was used throughout the truck. Each door holds 22 units of Black Hole Tile as well as Black Hole Foil and Focal BAM. Supporting baffles and speaker mounts were constructed of various materials including medium-density fiberboard (MDF), sheet lead and fiberglass resin. Wingate posted a detailed account of the build process on his Facebook page.

A sound quality competitor for more than 25 years, Wingate uses experience from his builds as well as those of competitors to craft his training regimen for Orca retailers.

"It's an especially proud moment for me as well as the Orca family," Wingate said. "All year I train retailers and professional technicians on how to optimize sound quality with some of the best-sounding mobile audio brands available. To put it all together in a winning sound quality vehicle is a successful, real-life application of the principles and standards we teach."

Based in Southern California, Orca acts as importer/distributor, designer and manufacturer for a variety of notable brands. We are the sole U.S. distributor for Focal mobile audio, and import speakers by GLADEN Audio of Germany and Italian-made Mosconi amplifiers. In addition, we design quality products under the Illusion Audio brand, and offer Blackhole damping materials and Raven pure ribbon tweeters for home and mobile installations alike. Sensor-verified and crowd-sourced driver alerts combine to form single community

NEW YORK, NY (June 20, 2018) — Cedar Electronics, parent company for leading automotive and consumer electronics brands Cobra Electronics, ESCORT and Snooper, today announced that the company’s Cobra iRadar® & ESCORT LiveTM driver alert apps will now share warnings from each app community across both platforms. This convergence of shared alerts creates the world’s largest database of verified driver alerts, providing drivers with a limitless range of coverage on the road. The Cobra iRadar® & ESCORT LiveTM apps along with both brands’ line of connected products will be on display the CE Week & Connected Car show in New York, NY at the Jacob K. Javits Center – River Pavilion in booth #416.

This shared database of Cobra iRadar® & ESCORT LiveTM will enable users of each app, and its portfolio of connected products to receive alerts across both platforms. With this expanded community, drivers will have alerts from more than 3.5 million drivers who are generating more than 8 million unique, device-verified alerts per month.

“ESCORT LiveTM and iRadarTM provide an exclusive social network for the road by connecting drivers with alerts to help them drive smarter,” said Christopher Cowger, CEO, Cedar Electronics. “Our community of drivers are connected with technology that combines both detector-sensed and crowd-sourced alerts. The plurality of these communities’ alerts will always provide greater range than the singularity of alerts from one single detector.”

iRadar™ connects to Cobra’s line of dash cams, radar & laser detectors and smart CB radios through users’ smartphones to millions of other iRadarTM app users’ devices on the road. Upcoming speed and red-light cameras, live police locations and caution areas are automatically and anonymously sent from enabled Cobra devices to its cloud servers. Within seconds, these relevant alerts are processed, and other drivers within the network are alerted with both audible and visual information through their connected devices.

ESCORT Live™, the award-winning app for ESCORT radar detectors, delivers a real-time ticketprotection network, keeping drivers aware of upcoming alerts received and reported by other users’ devices in the area both through its Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi equipped line of premium driver alert systems. The app also provides access to local speed limit data for over-speed alerts.

Cobra iRadar® & ESCORT Live™ will begin sharing alerts and community information this month and will integrate more information, features and functionality over time through subsequent updates. Both apps are available now for free from the App Store and Google Play store.

Cedar Electronics Corporation, a leading global supplier of connected automotive and consumer electronics products, possesses a portfolio of industry leading brands, including Cobra Electronics, ESCORT and Snooper. LONG BEACH, CALIF. – June 19, 2018 – Mobile Electronics magazine today announced the Top 50 Retailers and the Top 50 Installers, as well as the new list of Top 20 Sales Professionals. The Top 50 awards and the new Top 20 award are the first component of the magazine’s annual Industry Awards competition. Recipients of this award have the honor of being considered the premier mobile electronics retail outlets, installation technicians and sales experts in the U.S. and Canada, according to the magazine.

“This was a tough, exciting competition,” said Solomon Daniels, editor-in chief of Mobile Electronics and awards administrator. “Unfortunately, we had to narrow 85 installer nominees to 50, and it was a grueling task. That said, most of the nomination videos were high-quality efforts, reminiscent of the work that our industry specialists put into their stores and customers’ vehicles every day. Even more exciting is the first iteration of the Top 20 Sales Professionals, recognizing individuals who work just as hard at perfecting their craft as technicians and fabricators do.  I’m very proud to announce these awards and present certificates to the winners.”

The nomination videos were judged by Daniels as well as guest judge Eric Carter, a former retailer and Industry Awards recipient.

In addition to these awards, winners are eligible to compete for the next phase of the Industry Awards, which through industry voting narrows the list to 12 retail and installation finalists, and five sales finalists. The “Top 12″ and “Top 5” would then submit judging materials to be considered for Retailer of the Year, Sales Professional of the Year and Installer of the Year. These final awards will be announced at the Mobile Electronics Industry Awards celebration during the KnowledgeFest trade show and conference in Dallas, August 17-19. For more information, visit www.meindustryawards.com.
