STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® is proud to present the 21st annual Desert Storm Poker Run at London Bridge Resort in Lake Havasu, Ariz., April 24-28. It’s the fourth straight year KICKER has been involved with the growing performance-boat race and event, and this is the initial time as the presenting sponsor.

As part of the KICKER assortment, Lake Havasu City’s own KICKER-Authorized-Dealer Wired 4 Sound will bring the “BoomToon,” a massive double-decker pontoon packed with more than a dozen KICKER subwoofers, 17 tower speakers and nearly 15,000 watts of power. Murfco, Inc., KICKER’s Southern California distributor, will haul in a KICKER-equipped 1968 Firebird and outrageous UTV to the memorable street party, to park near the imposing KICKER XRV big rig.

The resort venue is located adjacent to the world-famous London Bridge and along the Bridgewater Channel, where a non-stop boat parade will command all attention during the weekend. London Bridge was dismantled and relocated here in 1967 from the River Thames.

“Lake Havasu City is home to so many ideal event locations,” said Cal Sheehy, general manager of the London Bridge Resort. “We are excited to welcome Desert Storm to our property and showcase the iconic London Bridge as the backdrop for this amazing event.”

In addition to the well-known venue, the event will also feature its annual Wednesday kick-off of the tokened “Krusin’ for a Kause,” which takes special-needs children and adults for a special powerboat ride, pool party and BBQ to kick off the event. Storm Charities, Desert Storm’s charity organization, partners with KICKER, Teague Custom Marine, DCB, and Graphic Ink for this specific event.

“We are honored each year to kick off our event with ‘Krusin’ for a Kause’,” promoter Christina Crane said. “Our volunteer boat drivers take these clients on an unforgettable experience on Lake Havasu, an experience that some only dream of until now.”

Desert Storm will feature a Main Street Party all day Thursday, free to the public and open 1 p.m.-9 p.m., with top-caliber boats lining Lake Havasu City’s chief drag spot.

The Poker Run will be held the next morning, and the acclaimed Shootout is scheduled for Saturday, determining who is crowned “King of the Desert,” and “Queen of the Desert” by clocking the fastest speeds on Lake Havasu. Past contenders have reached speeds topping 180 mph.

“We have an awesome new partnership with KICKER Audio who will be bringing some noise to Lake Havasu,” Crane said. “This is going to be a Desert Storm party that Havasu hasn’t seen before.”

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® will feature a booth filled with custom vehicles and big announcements in its return following a three-year absence at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Located in the LV Convention Center’s North Hall in booth 10709, KICKER will launch its 50th anniversary celebration with several jaw-dropping vehicles and a bevy of new products.

The company that manufactures KICKER products, Stillwater Designs and Audio, was founded in 1973 by Steve Irby and a partner, and Irby continues today as the president and drive behind KICKER award-winning audio gear. This year’s SEMA Show provides KICKER the opportunity to unveil new offerings like ST-Series Speakers and Bullet Tweeters, a PA line built to be as loud as possible while including KICKER’s dedication to sound quality.

This long-awaited line of KICKER SPL (sound pressure level) products makes its debut on the SEMA Show floor, installed in a highly customized 2021 Ford® Bronco that commemorates KICKER’s long-time relationship with SPL legend Team Gates and its record-setting Bronco from the early 2000s. The newer Bronco is loaded with four pair of seven-inch ST-Series midrange drivers, eight ST-Series bullet tweeters and nine SoloX® L7X 12-inch subwoofers. KICKER will also unveil nine, 3,600-watt Warhorse™ amplifiers, installed in a custom amp rack. ST-Series speakers are shipping and currently available; the other gear is expected to ship in 2023.

“KICKER is the originator of big bass,” said Drew Jones, owner of Bassahaulic Productions and designer of the Bronco’s 4th-order enclosure. “They’re going to be surprised at how good it will sound, and how long it will play. This is how systems should be installed and set up. With KICKER getting back into SPL competition, it will also help make the sport more approachable.”

A 1973 Chevy® C10 created by Hills Hot Rods and JD Glassworks will also be featured in the booth, sporting a powerful yet compact sound system not found in the truck 50 years ago on the showroom floor. A KICKER KEY® amplifier powers artfully integrated KS-Series Speakers, while a CX-Series amplifier provides signal to a single CompRT® thin 10-inch sub, all hidden behind custom mesh grilles.

Owned by offroad legend Robby Gordon, SpeedUTV® will add the limited-edition “El Jefe” UTV to the floor mix this year. This race-ready UTV is integrated with original equipment from KICKER – the new PX-Series five-channel powersports amplifier with a CompRT subwoofer and KM-Series all-weather speakers.

Expanding to its third brand in the booth, KICKER will also show its 100-watt MultiPro™ Tailgate System which can now be found as OE on the GMC® Hummer® EV. The Hummer joins the Sierra and the Canyon utilizing KICKER audio in its truck tailgates.

STILLWATER, USA – Stress levels tend to increase when consumers seek product information from manufacturers through email, chat services or over the phone. Callers ultimately require immediate answers, and show very little patience. These unusual days, with the country in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, the KICKER® Tech Support team has seen a massive increase in the number of callers seeking quick answers.

“We’ve been averaging around 700 calls and emails per week (since the pandemic),” reported Trevis Rakey, KICKER’s technical support manager. “With so many people working on DIY projects, that number has been on the rise.”

Rakey estimates his department fields more than 50 enclosure-building requests per week. The team’s recommendations vary based on complexity and available space.

“Typically, when a customer calls for a box design, we ask them what measurements they have to work with, and what their goals are,” Rakey explained. “From there we can determine air space, port specs and outside measurements of what the enclosure needs to be built to. We use FINEBox™ enclosure design software, which is the same quality as our R&D (research and development) department.”

When a consumer wants to work on their own project, the KICKER Tech Support team also refers customers to the useful KICKER U app. Available as a free or premium purchased version, the app provides cut sheets, subwoofer specifications, response curves, wiring diagrams, test tones and more.

KICKER’s Tech Support team fields these calls from the company’s Stillwater, Oklahoma world headquarters. Armed with more than 40 years of product specifications, box-building software, vehicle wiring information and a mountain of acoustic reference materials, KICKER’s Tech Support is among the most well-informed in the industry.

To ensure the Tech Support staff has the ability to answer any question, they maintain a non-stop product training schedule and have direct access to the very people that build the product. The department fields questions across every product line KICKER makes, and in every phase of system construction.

KICKER’s Tech Support Department is available weekdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. CDT at 405-624-8510, and by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® Audio is honored to announce that Elite Distributor Alliance has awarded parent company Stillwater Designs as Vendor-of-the-Year 2020 (Best Supplier-in-a-Storm). The EDA ultimately created the unique sub-headline on the award to recognize the brand’s contribution to the 12-volt industry during a tumultuous year.

“With KICKER, there was never a serious disruption of business,” said Josh Eatherly, president of the EDA. “There was an obvious go-to-market strategy in place way before the pandemic, to have enough product (and a) sale-able price, and it carried through. We wanted to recognize that this was a significant event that happened. This was a supplier that went above and beyond.”

The EDA consists of 11 partner distributors, servicing mobile-audio retailers across the country. Its stated mission is to “collectively seek to improve the business of EDA distributors, vendors and retailers by striving to create a more organized and predictable business environment,” per its website. KICKER is among 11 mobile-electronics manufacturers that work with the EDA.

“We have continually heard that KICKER is doing an outstanding job of supplying product through this challenging time, and this award confirmed that,” said KICKER President and founder Steve Irby, who attended the award ceremony. “We were also honored to hear that several dealers had told their distributors that KICKER literally kept them in business through this difficult time.”

Irby also acknowledged KICKER’s West-Coast warehouse as being instrumental in allocating product into the supply chain.

STILLWATER, USA – Cycle City Promotions has come to an agreement with FOX Sports 2 to televise several races in the KICKER® Arenacross Winter Series, with over 10 full hours of content including a profile on KICKER’s global headquarters and additional 30-second spots produced by KICKER. The first race will air January 31 at 9 p.m., EST.

“KICKER is in its 10th year of partnering with Cycle City Promotions,” said Kevin Campbell, Director of Marketing for Stillwater Designs, the maker of KICKER audio products. “Over the past couple of years, it’s grown exponentially. Cycle City Promotions started its Arenacross series in 1995 as a part-time venture, going full time in 2005. It has since grown into the largest series in the genre. In 2018 Cycle City founder Tod Hammock started the process of finding a media company to produce a show covering the events.

“We looked at multiple outlets and came to an agreement with FOX Sports 2,” Hammock said.  “We felt it would be the perfect fit.”

The winter KICKER Arenacross series started in Loveland, Colo., and finishes in Salt Lake City. Averaging 350 competitors and more than 5,000 attendees per show, the series in the longest running in the country.

As a part of that effort, the company will involve authorized KICKER dealers at every stop so consumers attending the Arenacross Series can learn about products to put in their UTV, truck or motorcycle from the very people that install the products. KICKER products will be on display as well.

“Our mantra is to take the brand where our core demographic has fun,” Campbell explained. “Arenacross is one of the key things they get excited about. Whether it’s audio for a bike, a side-by-side, a truck or a boat, we have what they need. It just makes sense, especially as the series becomes more and more popular.”

“KICKER is excited to bring this dynamic, exterior-listening audio system to GMC trucks and consumers,” said Joe Gross, KICKER Automotive OEM Director of Sales. “We feel it will completely change the way a consumer will make use of the truck bed and tailgate.”

Available on all-new GMC Sierra SLT, AT4 and Denali, the new audio version of the MultiPro Tailgate System connects to personal devices via Bluetooth, playing through two, 4-inch weatherproof coaxial drivers independent from the interior audio system to bring the music outside and around the truck. It is a low-current-draw system made to play outside for hours.

The system is rugged and ready for any weather, heavily field-tested and proven to withstand the elements. Consumers can expect a tough tailgate with full structural integrity for regular truck use, including the ability to accept OEM-certified light kits. The weather-worthy electronics inside are further protected by a long-lasting ABS custom baffle that is fully gasketed to prevent seeping moisture or dirt. The integrated T-harness, connectors and plugs are completely weather-resistant to further protect the system.

Additionally, a tilt switch is implemented into the system, allowing for the tailgate’s audio power to automatically stop when it is in a closed position so the listener doesn’t have to worry with on/off buttons or battery issues.

The one-amp USB port will charge a phone, and it will also accept and play any audio from a USB memory stick.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® is thrilled to announce the KEY180.4 Smart Amplifier was honored twice at the 2018 SEMA Show, both as a SEMA New Product Showcase finalist and with a SEMA Global Media Award.

“It shows your engineering and ingenuity. The New Product Showcase is a tremendous honor,” said Bill Miller, SEMA’s Senior VP of Operations. KICKER was announced as a finalist in the “Best New Mobile Electronics Product” category.

“We have over 3,000 products entered as part of our Showcase,” Miller explained about the rigorous process SEMA uses to choose the Showcase honorees. “We have a group of 27 retailers who judge the products in a variety of categories.”

In addition, the Global Media Awards are presented by industry news writers from all over the world, with journalists choosing the most impactful new products based on their industry experience. Editor of Canada’s Performance Auto and Sound magazine Micky Slinger chose the KEY amp.

“I read Garry Springgay’s review (in PAS) and was amazed by the technology, especially with AI (artificial intelligence) assist,” said Slinger referring to the October article. “You install it, and it tunes the whole audio system. That’s really, really cool. It’s intuitive, and something I can see it being easy for the user – especially for our readers. It’s very innovative, and it’s going to elevate the ease of use for people that see audio as something too technical for them. When I saw it in the display, there was no way I could pass it without awarding it.”

The revolutionary 4-channel, 180-watt amplifier uses proprietary AI to automatically increase the realism, clarity and volume of nearly any audio system with the press of a button. The KEY works with even the most modern factory or aftermarket audio systems, including those equipped with start/stop technology.

The KICKER® L7QB8 Compact Enclosed Subwoofer is more than an all-aluminum subwoofer enclosure. Measuring under 11 inches long, this powerhouse handles 500 watts RMS, and mounts nearly anywhere.

Using reflex-subwoofer technology, this next-level bass machine is more efficient, can go deeper and take more power than any enclosure of its size. The L7QB8 debuts at CES 2016 today, at booth 1719 in the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall.  Another innovation from the leader in bass, the L7QB8 retails for $799.95 and will be available exclusively at Authorized KICKER Q-Class Dealers by mid-January.

Sleek design, innovative technology and a true love of audio has motivated KICKER to create a solution that meets a long-unfulfilled need:  huge bass in a tiny space.  The KICKER L7QB8 is an enclosed subwoofer made to fill a gap that has gone unsatisfied in the market to date:  an easily installed, upper-echelon subwoofer that is small enough to fit nearly any vehicle on the road today, yet still deliver the massive, detailed bass for which KICKER is famous.  The myriad of technologies incorporated, from the reflex subwoofer to the legendary L7® Subwoofer to the aluminum enclosure itself, reinforces the uniqueness and innovation put into the L7QB8.

KICKER’s visionary design ensures the mobile-audio lover will experience a degree of musical detail and raw power previously unavailable anywhere in an 8-inch form factor.  Utilizing a seamless 1/4-inch-thick, extruded aluminum housing, the L7QB8 enclosure possesses extraordinary strength and stability while affording the subwoofer the optimum internal air volume. A unique reflex subwoofer is used to minimize required airspace, while optimizing the efficiency and frequency response of the L7 Subwoofer.

Opposite the reflex sub, the legendary square L7 Subwoofer utilizes a power rating of 500 watts RMS and frequency response of 27-100Hz, delivering significantly more bass than any other 8-inch enclosure on the market.  While the square cone guarantees the signature L7 Subwoofer moves more air than any similarly sized competitor, it also ensures reliability with features put in for exceptional heat dissipation.

The L7QB8 is the pinnacle of design form and functionality.  The extruded aluminum enclosure is adorned with a charcoal finish, while nickel-plated brass terminals capable of accepting 8AWG wire allow maximum signal transfer to the subwoofer. Matching perforated grilles perfectly integrate with the sub, built to be as tough as it is refined.

The enclosed subwoofer comes with a low-profile mounting system consisting of a mounting plate and bar. Fully installed, the overall height of the enclosure is a scant 9-1/2 inches, small enough to work perfectly in countless trucks, sedans and SUVs.  Whether to augment a factory system or as the complement to a higher-end audio install, the subwoofer can be tucked neatly away under a seat or in the trunk.

KICKER® Performance Audio has developed and perfected two new sizes of thin-mount CompVT™ Subwoofers, shown at CES 2016 at booth 1719 in the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall.

All subwoofers come with a single 2- or 4-Ohm terminal and are available in 10- and 12-inch models. The woofers will be available at Authorized KICKER Dealers in-store and online in January. At less than five inches deep, the KICKER CompVT is built for high power handling, yet versatile enough to fit in slim mounting applications. The sleek blackout look and red surround stitching complement a sophisticated design resulting in a high-caliber bass for every musical genre.

To increase durability and ensure maximum cooling of the motor, the CompVT has 360-degree perimeter venting and UniPlate™ back-plate and pole-piece construction. A shallow-depth, four-piece voice coil and ventless pole also provide excellent bass and additional heat dissipation. KICKER SoloKon technology marries the cone to a vented back brace, creating a single, cohesive system that ensures superior sonic quality at any volume level.

The injection-molded cone is spoked for a dynamic look, while a large-roll spider and ribbed surround create a highly flexible suspension system for low bass and high power handling in a thin-mount subwoofer.
