2-15-2017, STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® will support its Marine dealers and bring its line of head units, amplifiers and speakers to the 2017 Miami International Boat Show February 16-20, located at the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin. KICKER’s booth will be located in the Sport Fishing Pavilion (Tent D), booth no. D137.

In conjunction with authorized marine dealer El Capitan Sports Center (Miami, Fla.), KICKER will be next door to offer sales support for El Capitan’s booth, no. D135. At the KICKER booth, a pair of interactive displays will allow visitors to explore the marine gear in detail, while glowing KM-Series Coaxials and Subwoofers constantly display a dazzling light show. Additionally, KICKER personnel will make reference to its announcement last week regarding membership into the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA). KICKER is already a member of both the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

Included as part of the booth display are new KICKER KXM-Series Amplifiers, unveiled for the first time at International CES in January. KXM-Series Amps offer side-mounted acoustic controls that are easily accessed and protected with a moisture-deterring, gasket-sealed door. In addition to conformal coating on the circuit boards, all power connections are ABYC/NMMA compliant.

KICKER Marine Media Center/Receivers will also be on the display. All three units feature Bluetooth® connectivity, AM/FM reception, weather-band, a charging USB port and IPX6 certification.

The Miami show features more than 1,100 exhibitors and 1,300 boats, displayed both on land and in the water. A comprehensive series of seminars are available to consumers and professionals alike, including boat safety, maintenance and hands-on skills training. Events begin hourly for the duration of the show.  An interactive boat simulator will allow users to practice docking, turning, stopping and more. Equipped with steering wheel and real throttle, the driver of the boat experiences a virtual lake cruise, and must navigate around other sailboats, powerboats and a marina.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® announces title sponsorship of a custom-car show and audio competition in iconic Bricktown – the hub of Oklahoma City’s downtown entertainment district. KC Showdown presents KICKER in Bricktown, open to all makes and models near the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Saturday July 16.

KICKER will roll in with the XRV (Xtreme Recreational Vehicle), the 82-foot showroom housing the full line of audio gear and the now-famous Boom Room, featuring an even larger, louder sub enclosure suspended in a custom steel frame. Built to withstand the torture emanating from 40,000 watts of massive power, the Boom Room boasts an array of 11-inch, horn-loaded can speakers adding to the thunderous bass a dozen square L7® 15-inch subwoofers.

Car-audio competitors with big-bass systems will have a chance to compete at the Bass Wars booth, earning prizes and points toward the Bass Wars World Finals. BW Regional Director Jimmy Pittman explained Bass Wars has classes that accommodate almost any mobile-audio system, from a single subwoofer to an extreme SPL system.

“I have had a lot of competitors reach out to me from surrounding states,” said Pittman. “It’s going to be a pretty big show. I hope Bricktown is ready for a very loud crowd.”

The show will also feature a “hop off” for cars with hydraulics.

“The goal is to make the front of the car jump as high as you can, with or without weight, and make the car stand up on back bumper,” KC Showdown promoter Denny Eddy explained. “It’s a great way to show off your car and is really fun. It’s a lot of custom work that you don’t see the bottom of, until they come out to compete.”

Spectators will enjoy free admission. For more information, consumers need to search “Kicker Custom Car Show and Audio Comp” on Facebook.

STILLWATER, USA – Stillwater Designs® today announced that it has been named a CES® 2021 Innovation Awards honoree for the new KICKER® Solo X® L7X™ subwoofer. The announcement was made ahead of the first-ever, all-digital CES 2021, happening Jan. 11-14, 2021.
The CES Innovation Awards program is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products across 28 product categories. An elite panel of industry judges, including members of the media, designers and engineers reviewed submissions based on innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetic and design.

“We’re very happy to win the Innovations award,” said Steve Irby, KICKER’s Founder and President. “This is a radically improved version of the original Solo X, and to be recognized for the amount of work and creativity we’ve put into making it a reality feels really good.”
A ground-up reimagining of the legendary Solo X, the 2021 iteration was designed to set high standards in a subwoofer’s mechanical excursion, musicality, thermal management and reliability. Offered in 10-, 12-, and 15-inch versions, each Solo X will share a 2,000-watt RMS power rating. KICKER’s SoloX has not yet been assigned an MSRP, and will begin shipping later this spring.

For the past four years, KICKER has researched and experimented with concepts surrounding an extreme subwoofer, while re-introducing the brand to the competition circuit by sponsoring major competitions like the Unified Finals, USACi Finals and Midwest SPL Finals.
“The concept of the new Solo X is to take it to the next level,” Irby said. “It is designed with very tight tolerances. It has more power, more stroke, more Xmax, and still has a field-replaceable cone. The new design allows the Solo X to be extremely loud, but also be extremely musical.”
The no-glue reconing system uses a unique surround compression system and bolt-on spider landing, and is designed specifically to make speaker repair possible in only a few minutes time.

The CES 2021 Innovation Awards honorees, including product descriptions and photos, can be found at CES.tech/innovation. Additional honorees will be revealed during CES 2021.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® has developed and perfected three new, ultra-thin, down-firing loaded enclosures, dubbed the TRTP-Series, and all are currently shipping to Authorized Dealers and Consumers across the U.S. All enclosures come with a single 2-Ohm terminal, and are available in 8-, 10-, and 12-inch models. The enclosures are available for purchase by consumers in-store and online.

Included in each enclosure is the popular KICKER CompRT® thin subwoofer, alongside a resurgent reFLEX™ passive radiator for a significant upgrade in bass without increasing overall depth. Barely five inches high, TRTP Enclosures are built to fit anywhere from behind the seat of a pickup to the back cargo area of a hatchback. The down-firing design allows it to fit in tight spaces, yet still deliver peak performance. The rugged enclosures design has the added benefit of allowing items to be stacked on top of it for max cargo space. TRTP Enclosures are carpeted and custom embroidered with the KICKER logo.

Thanks to innovative engineering, the shallow-mount CompRT subwoofer handles an exceptional amount of power without sacrificing depth. The ribbed Santoprene® surround sports signature red KICKER stitching, while the thick polypropylene cone pumps out smooth, clean bass. The sub’s perimeter venting and UniPlate™ back plate and solid pole piece provide excellent thermal management for the sub at any volume level.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® announces its co-sponsorship of the 2017 Car Audio Championship, featuring over 400 dB Drag Racing, IASCA and MECA competitors packing the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville October 14-15.

KICKER is also attending the event in support of lithium-battery manufacturer JY Power, and its new KICKER-equipped SPL vehicle dubbed “The Cube.”  The converted delivery truck features 40 elite Q-Class™ 15-inch L7® subwoofers, powered by 20 KICKER KX-Series 2,400-watt mono amplifiers. The outrageous install also includes 12 KXM-Series 1,200-watt stereo amps powering 162 eight-inch, KM marine coaxial speakers.

Last weekend competitors and fans watched the 60,000-watt system break the windshield within 20 seconds of its initial playing at the USACi Car-Audio Finals. The system was running on approximately five percent of total power, according to Travis Young, co-owner of JY Power.

More than 2,000 spectators are expected to attend this year’s event, beginning at 10 a.m. each morning.

KICKER owns a rich history in audio competition, earning hundreds of sound-quality (SQ) and sound-pressure-level (SPL) trophies during the 1990s and early 2000s.

“We are thrilled to see car-stereo competition experiencing a resurgence,” said Kip Litsey, Associate Marketing Director for KICKER.

The Championship’s three organizations are holding open triple-point events in addition to the invitation-only finals, allowing any competitor to build up points for the 2018 season.

dB Drag Racing is operating its North American championships in three locations simultaneously:  live in Louisville, Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada and Concord, California. Competitors in all three locations will battle each other via live streaming.

dB Drag is also starting a “Bagger Beatz” motorcycle SPL class of competition.

“We’ve seen a lot of interest in aftermarket performance motorcycle sound systems,” said Wayne Harris, founder of dB Drag Racing.  “It reminds me of the 90s for cars.”

STILLWATER, USA – Fresh off attending and supporting the Unified Car Audio Championships (Louisville, Ky.) and USACi World Finals (Lawton, Okla.), KICKER® continues its support of car-stereo competition by sponsoring the MWSPL Finals for the third consecutive year. The finals will be The The held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds October 26-27.

More than 120 competitors have committed to attend, according to the MWSPL Finals Facebook® Event page.

After the competition has ended Saturday, a competitor’s party with costume contest will add more fun to the festivities, with prizes donated by KICKER awarded to the best costume. KICKER is providing prizes for many of the functions that night.

MWSPL will also run a silent charity auction during the Finals, with items donated by KICKER and other manufacturers. This year’s goal is to raise at least $4,500, with proceeds earmarked to help an ailing child in Arkansas. Details are available on the MWSPL Facebook page.

This year’s MWSPL Finals will feature a separate “progressive outdoor competition” that builds a competitor’s potential points for the 2020 season. The point value of the competition increases as the attendance of the outdoor event rises.

“It’s a way to build some excitement,” said MWSPL founder Steve Benton. “The more of (competitor’s) friends they can get to compete, the larger the potential reward.”

Fans and consumers can go online and visit www.midwestspl.com for additional details.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® announces its second consecutive year of sponsoring one of the largest car-audio sound-offs in the West:  the 2019 CES Showdown. Hosted by the Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel in Las Vegas, the two-day show starts the Saturday following CES (January 12) at 8 a.m. and continues to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“KICKER is once again stoked to be helping with this cool event to kick off the competition year,” said Kip Litsey, KICKER Marketing Associate Director. “KICKER and sound-offs have a long history, and we’re proud to be a part of this great early-season event.”

Featuring both sound-pressure-level and sound-quality categories, individual triple-point competitions will be held by dB Drag Racing, IASCA, and MECA organizations. Also, USACi will offer its only West-Coast, quadruple-point event of the season. Showdown founder Steve Barber and the Vegas Style SPL Car Club serve as promoters for the show, and they expect over 100 competitors and a crowd in excess of 1,000 spectators.

In addition to the car-audio competition, attendees can participate in a pizza-eating contest, a tug-of-war, subwoofer toss and a charity raffle. KICKER has donated several prizes to be awarded, including amplifiers, Bluetooth® speakers, t-shirts, caps, jackets and more.

“We started doing this show seven years ago,” said Barber. “I was born and raised in Vegas. As a car-audio junkie, I noticed every (car-audio) manufacturer had a CES demo car. Over the years, the noise was too much, so they weren’t allowed to show off their install. I thought it would be cool to give them a place to show their products in action.

“Now the major manufacturers are involved, and the show has turned out to be one of the biggest SPL shows on the West Coast. People are coming from every corner of the country to compete.”

Spectators get free admission. For more information, consumers can go to Facebook and look up “CES Showdown 2019.”

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® returns to co-sponsor the 2021 Car Audio Championships, held at the North Alabama State Fairgrounds in Muscle Shoals October 8-9, and then again at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Bentonville, Ark., October 23-24.

The SPL portion of the Championships will take place in Muscle Shoals, coinciding with some additional West-Coast locations. The Sound-Quality Finals will take place in Bentonville two weeks later. KICKER is a sponsor for both events.

“The Championships represent the elite of the competition world, both for SPL and sound quality,” said Kevin Campbell, KICKER’s Marketing Director. “KICKER believes in the importance of competition, which is why we’ve supported the sport for so many years. A passion for audio drives these competitors. That same passion pushes us and our products to evolve. It’s a kindred spirit.”
MECA, dB Drag Racing, IASCA and EMMA USA are all partners in producing the Car Audio Championships. Competitors have accrued points throughout the season to gain an invitation to the SQ and SPL championship events. With hundreds of vehicles participating in multiple locations and thousands of spectators, the event will be a destination for all things audio, as local audio retailers are promoting it around the areas.

The dB Drag Racing competitors will have the option to compete from Muscle Shoals, or at the Sacramento, Calif., site. Web-enabled competition will allow any competitor to go head-to-head in either location and still be part of one large event.

Open triple-point events will also be held at the same time as the invitation-only Championships, allowing local and national competitors have an opportunity to kick off the 2022 competition season with a high-point event.

Both Championships will run on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information, fans can visit www.caraudiochampionship.com, www.dbdragracing.com, www.iasca.com, or www.mecacaraudio.com.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® continues to support the competitive world of car audio as the presenting sponsor for the 2019 USACi World Finals, held this year at the Comanche County Fairgrounds in Lawton, Okla., September 20-22.

On Saturday, the KICKER booth will show off the KICKER SPL demo daily-driver, equipped with aftermarket KX-Series amplifiers, KS-Series coaxial speakers and six 15-inch KICKER subs. Representatives from KICKER global headquarters in Stillwater, Okla., and from KICKER’s local distribution partner, Marketing Pros (Houston, Texas), will be on hand to answer questions about product and the brand.

More than 60 plaques and trophies will be awarded at the event. First-place winners will also receive customized rings, which will be engraved with the winner's name and the KICKER logo.

In addition to the more than 300 competitors expected to compete at the Finals, USACi will run two separate competitions during the weekend: a “best demo” competition, plus an extra event for local competitors to start building their point totals for the 2020 season. The best demo competition is new to USACi, with independent judges assessing the cleanliness of the vehicle, the competitor’s friendliness, system knowledge and interaction with the public.

“We want car stereo to grow,” said Paul Galanos, USACi judge. “We feel a clean installation with a friendly, knowledgeable, engaged competitor helps attract new people to the sport, and to the industry.”

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® is gearing up for the Midwestspl Finals, held this year at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia October 28-29. KICKER is a proud sponsor of the 10th annual event, featuring the loudest vehicles in car audio.

KICKER is sending a vehicle-support staff to the event to back JY Power, the lithium-battery manufacturer that continues to impress show-goers with “The Cube” – a 60,000-watt SPL vehicle sporting 40 KICKER elite Q-Class, 15-inch L7® square subwoofers, and more than 160 KICKER coaxial speakers.

Despite being operational for barely one month, the converted delivery truck has already broken 166 decibels with both doors open, and has appeared on the HBO newsmagazine program VICE.

This year’s Midwestspl Finals features a celebrity appearance by Derek Travis of the Discovery Channel TV show Street Outlaws. Driver of “The Silver Unit” Camaro, Travis will be at the Finals meeting fans and signing autographs.

MWSPL Director and founder Steve Benton describes the Finals as a way to “give back and thank you to the competitors,” waiving the fee for the first class each competitor enters. Each competitor also receives an after-party ticket and free t-shirt commemorating the event.

STILLWATER, USA – In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, KICKER’s® Tech Force continues training dealers and installers worldwide, efficiently making use of retailers’ time that normally might be spent on consumers that are no longer walking into stores. The four-man team educates KICKER representatives online about new gear releases, what makes the equipment special, and product tips that may provide a purchasing advantage over the competition.

KICKER has held nearly a dozen online-only trainings in the past month, with new “unboxing” and additional training videos slated in the coming weeks. The Tech Force teaches to an industry that is hungry for tools to use when stores reopen and some sense of normalcy returns.

“We can answer questions live, from anywhere in the world, right from the KICKER offices,” said John Myers, KICKER Tech Force senior trainer. “It’s also a chance to teach dealers and the public about all new technologies we’re rolling out in 2020. It’s really exciting!”

For example, Myers conducted a 45-minute course on several new KICKER products and technologies, reaching out to South African distributor partners at Planet World and several retailers within the country. He covered feature-intensive projects like the new KEY500.1 Smart Mono Amplifier, the re-voiced KS-Series speaker lineup, clever uses of KICKER LED speaker rings and more. A live Q-and-A session was held simultaneously to answer any questions.

KICKER plans on releasing training videos on social media, and on the training section of the company YouTube™ channel (KICKERFanatic).
