STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® recently joined its European marine-audio distributor Celsus UK for a series of training sessions across Europe. KICKER’s International Sales Manager Reese Gray and Global Training Manager Aaron Malin accompanied Celsus UK Sales Director Mike Keenan, embarking on a four-country tour and training dealers on the benefits of the KICKER Marine line.

“It is clear Mike and Celsus have selected a great team of distributors to represent KICKER Marine products to the European markets, and we look forward to positive results,” said Gray.

KICKER was first presented to the Celsus UK marine trade at METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) in Amsterdam last November, where interest was strong for built-for-marine speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers. Subsequent agreements saw distributors appointed in Croatia, Greece, Spain and the Netherlands.

The training tour started at the city of Split Boat show in Croatia, with distributor Riz-Itea bringing in eager retailers and staff to learn about KICKER products from Gray and Malin.

The next stop was a coastal town outside of Athens, where the trio was greeted by the team at Motocraft in Greece, followed by a trip to Barcelona, Spain, visiting the state-of-the-art premises of Sportnav. The last stop on the whirlwind week in Europe was with Waterproof Products in Aalsmeer, Netherlands. A staff training at the company’s location ensured that the sales team was equipped with all the knowledge to provide first-rate advice to retailers, boat builders and Dutch consumers.

“Firstly, I’d like to thank Aaron and Reese for coming over to Europe to train us all,” said Keenan. “A special thank you to Vedran, Alex, Ignacio, Joris and their respective teams for their enthusiasm and for being gracious hosts. We feel this will be the start to great success in Europe for KICKER Marine.”

“It’s always a pleasure to watch people truly engaged and absorbing new information,” added Gray. “We experienced this at every stop and had several comments about how they plan to apply the knowledge.”

10-19-2016, STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® Performance Audio has finalized a strategic alliance with SSV Works®, which will now offer KICKER speakers and amplifiers as a premium option with its custom powersports audio enclosures. SSV Works is a premier speaker-enclosure manufacturer in the powersports industry.

KICKER’s motivation for collaborating with SSV Works is to create new solutions for the ever-expanding powersports market.

“Powersports customers want a complete solution,” said KICKER Powersports Manager Bryan Grace. “The number-one company for UTV aftermarket audio enclosures is SSV Works. They were the first to do it, and they are the best at it. It was a perfect fit.”

SSV Works was the first company to create specifically built, powersports audio gear. With an extensive background in car audio and OEM integration experience, SSV Works identified that there was a need for off-road audio done correctly. This precipitated the creation of custom audio enclosures for Yamaha® UTVs - the first side-by-sides to enter the market. They now offer over 120 application-specific products for nearly every UTV available.

Trevor Kaplan, CEO of SSV Works, says he chose to align with KICKER for the quality of its powersports-specific approach to audio.

“Our partnership with KICKER gives us the ability to use product that is purpose-built and would bring the recognition and quality that our competitors cannot offer,” Kaplan said. “We find customers have KICKER in their trucks, cars and boats, and they want matching speakers in their side-by-sides.”

The relationship has already created ripples within the industry. Arctic Cat® currently offers a KICKER/SSV Works audio system as a factory option in its Wildcat™ X3 models. Powersports retail giants 4 Wheel Parts and Bert’s Mega Mall will also carry the KICKER-equipped SSV Works enclosure line.

Two SSV Works UTVs will be present in the KICKER booth during the 2016 SEMA Show, each featuring a wild KICKER/SSV Works audio system. A Can-Am® Maverick® and Arctic Cat Wildcat X3 will both be in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth 11861.

Grace is optimistic about the future of powersports audio, and what KICKER/SSV Works’ new alliance will mean to the industry.

“It’s not often two of the largest companies in their respective categories come together,” he says. “With our technology and infrastructure, combined with SSV Works’ high-quality enclosures, the possibilities are endless.”

7-1-2017, STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® Performance Audio and SSV Works® (Oxnard, Calif.) have collaborated to create, and now announce, a pair of complete audio packages, custom-made for the Polaris® RZR® S 900, 1000 and XP Turbo. The packages, labeled as “Phase 5” and “Phase 3” solutions with model numbers PRZ35 (MSRP $2,299.95) and PRZ33 (MSRP $1,899.95), are now available for purchase.

A custom, under-dash radio processor/amplifier bracket is also included, as is all mounting hardware and pre-terminated wiring harnesses with quick-connects.

KICKER’s motivation for collaborating with SSV Works was to create audio solutions for the ever-expanding Powersports market. The KICKER PRZ33 three-speaker and KICKER PRZ35 five-speaker systems are the initial joint effort into combining the two brands’ product lines into a single, complete package.

“Powersports customers want a complete solution,” said KICKER Powersports manager Bryan Grace. “The number-one company for UTV aftermarket audio enclosures is SSV Works. They were the first to do it, and they are the best at it. It was a perfect fit.”

The custom, SSV Works under-dash bracket holds two pre-tuned KICKER Powersports amplifiers:  a compact, PX-Series 500-watt subwoofer amp and a 4-channel amp (75wX4) for the midrange drivers. Each system is controlled by an SSV Works MRB3 AM/FM/Bluetooth® receiver, with custom bracket and charging USB/AUX inputs. The kits also include an AM/FM antenna and all mounting hardware.

The SSV Works glove-box subwoofer enclosure (patent pending) completely replaces the factory RZR glove box and is loaded with a KICKER CompRT® 10-inch, thin-mount subwoofer. SSV Works marine-grade fiberglass enclosures are formed to fit the contours of the RZR.

The foot-well enclosures are mounted high on the kick panel to allow for maximum foot room, while the cage-mounted, rear speaker pods (PRZ35 only) mount behind the seats. Both enclosures house the included KICKER 6.5-inch, KM-Series coaxial speakers, featuring UV-treated polypropylene cones and titanium tweeters, locking terminal covers and an integrated moisture draining system to ensure excellent sound quality and long life.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® delivers extraordinary power and value to the 2018 holiday season with four new L7R™ Loaded Subwoofer Enclosures, based upon KICKER’s innovative Solo-Baric® square technology. The enclosures will be sold at Authorized KICKER Dealers in-store and online.

Single vented 10- and 12-inch enclosures will be offered, each with a tapered profile for excellent performance behind a seat or in a trunk.  A 1,200-watt (RMS), dual 12-inch woofer model with optimized front facing port will also be available, in addition to a thin 10-inch enclosure made specifically to fit under or behind a truck seat. All feature single, spring-loaded 2-ohm terminal cups for easy wiring, even with larger gauge wire connections.

Each enclosure features plush black carpeting with rounded corners and the KICKER logo in custom red-stitched embroidery. Inside the enclosure, thick MDF construction and heavy internal bracing offers strength and stability for many years of use.

The most affordable of KICKER’s square-sub loaded enclosures, the L7R Loaded Enclosures and their subwoofer cones average 20 percent more cone area than similarly sized round subs, thus moving more air and creating more bass than the round drivers. The woofer’s unique design features KICKER’s patented ribbed corners on a heavy-duty Santoprene® surround, SoloKon™ cone-bracing technology, and signature red stitching to bind the surround to the injection-molded cone for added strength. SoloKon’s 360-degree, constant-contact back bracing adheres directly to every contour of the square cone, maximizing the mechanical coupling of the motor while making the woofer as strong and responsive as possible.

This unique combination of value, performance and innovation make L7R Loaded Enclosures some of the most attractive bass-makers in the category. The L7R subwoofer ended up as one of KICKER’s top woofers in 2018.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® is proud to announce the revolutionary KEY180.4 Smart Amplifier with 180 watts of power, Auto-EQ and compatibility with start/stop vehicles. This new mobile-audio technology will be unveiled during CES 2018 and will be available at Authorized KICKER Dealers in-store and online by first-quarter 2018. The KEY180.4 will also be available for purchase at www.kicker.com.

The KEY180.4 represents a completely revolutionary approach to achieving greatly improved sound quality and imaging in an affordable, all-in-one package that installs nearly anywhere, and works with even the most modern factory or aftermarket audio systems. KICKER always suggests that consumers seek a demonstration of the KEY180.4 from an authorized KICKER dealer as time allows, to experience the dramatic improvement of any mobile-audio system.

The extremely compact KEY180.4 automatically improves the sound quality of any vehicle with the push of a button.  KEY technology breathes new life and realism into any audio system, factory or aftermarket, with this brilliant amplifier and acoustic processor in one.  The four-channel amplifier comes with a microphone and integrated push-button remote. The remote is designed to start the calibration process once microphone placement near ear level is complete.

The button press sets the KEY’s test tones and proprietary algorithms in motion. The system detects speaker sizing, applies a 24dB crossover and 40 channels of equalization, applies time alignment and customizes the gain levels of each channel independently. The true potential of the vehicle’s sound system is revealed in a matter of seconds, delivering dramatic improvements in realism and soundstage without the need for expensive external processors or personal tuning time.

KEY technology uses FIT2™ (Fail-Safe Integration Technology) and start/stop compatibility to work with nearly any vehicle on the road today. Once installed, the amp can be activated via remote 12v signal or DC offset. Additionally, the amplifier’s miniscule footprint allows for easy installation in a myriad of locations, from behind the radio, to under a seat, or even behind the glove box.

KEY technology also employs a unique method of controlling heat and virtually eliminating the need for a protection mode. Faced with thermal overloads, traditional amplifiers force the listener to experience volume “pumping,” even a possible shutdown, or the fuse simply blows.  KICKER engineers created a dynamic system that engages a inaudible limiter/compressor applied only to the peaks of the music for as little as milliseconds at a time. The temporary drop in power results in the amplifier cooling and a cancellation of the compressor. Music then returns to its full dynamic range without a moment’s inconvenience or interruption.

STILLWATER, USA – Stillwater Designs,® the manufacturer of KICKER® Audio products, is announcing the successful registration of another design patent for the iconic L7® square subwoofer, the multi-award-winning subwoofer that further advanced the brand’s thriving bass legacy.

The most recent of the L7 patents was registered to protect the unique look of the subwoofer, and is the third overall assigned to the sub since its inception in 2000. Overall, the L7’s design took an estimated six months and 4,000 hours of labor, utilizing the entire Research and Development department.

KICKER’s lead mechanical design engineer and L7 design team lead, Kyle Ambrose, described the creative process as highly collaborative.

“After the first draft of the design was created by our industrial designer David Justis, it was brought to the Design Team for review. In the meeting, we got our ideas approved or massaged by (KICKER President and founder) Steve Irby, with input from the Sales and Marketing team. It is my responsibility to make those suggestions happen and get them implemented in the product.”

KICKER’s signature L7 and its square cone moves more air than similarly sized, traditional round subwoofers, creating a louder driver. To ensure that the additional bass is as reliable as it is loud, the L7 subwoofer is packed with innovation, starting with a cast-aluminum basket for exceptional rigidity as well as finned aluminum heat sinks for extraordinary heat dissipation. The woofer’s Blue-Lace™ spider, SoloKon™ 360-degree back bracing, and a laser-etched cone brace combine as a single, ultra-rigid unit to ensure linear cone excursion under stress. The result is increased clarity, higher volume and longer life.
