DD Audio’s VO-B3 super tweeter is now available. The VO-B3 made it’s debut at this year’s MERA Knowledgefest.

The VO-B3 is truly a PA-Style bullet tweeter designed for the mobile environment. DD Audio’s goal was to make the best sounding, easiest mounting high output tweeter on the market.

The VO-B3’s custom CNC machined body and die cast motor are designed to be as short as possible to allow for easy mounting in door panels and motorcycle fairings. The B3’s horn body is opened up to 110 degrees giving the listener a wider field of sound compared to similar styled tweeters. Another unique feature of the VO-B3 is it’s dual mounting options.

AAMP has introduced the PACBCI-CH21, a plug-and-play kit that facilitates the installation of a backup camera system to select Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles with CAN-Bus.

The popularity of in-vehicle backup camera systems has grown, especially fueled by them becoming universal in new vehicles off the lot. But, with the average age of the vehicles on the road being 11, there are still many drivers out there looking to enhance their car with a backup camera system.

Los Angeles-based investment group CV&DA Holdings, Inc., (CVDA) owners of the Cerwin-Vega
Mobile, Diamond Audio, and Caché brands has announced that it has completed its acquisition of a
103,350 Sq. ft. facility situated right besides the University of Southern California (USC) campus.

Renovations has already begun to turn the building into a state-of-the-art-facility featuring first-class
amenities. CVDA seeks to provide a modern working business environment that also serves as a
place for creativity and collaboration amongst employees and their respective departments for its
new headquarters.

CVDA will maintain its operations at its existing location of 1225 E. 7th St., Los Angeles, CA 90021
during the renovation period and will still utilize the facilityʼs existing warehouse for much needed
space. With itʼs continued growth curve amongst CVDAʼs portfolio of brands, expansion is
necessary and the new facility will be able to accommodate new ventures and product categories
the company has envisioned for the future.
The new building consists of three floors with over 37,000 square feet of office space with the
remaining area open warehouse space. The warehouse consists of an 8 dock high loading
position for convenient inbound/outbound movement of merchandise. A 6,000 lb. freight elevator
services its third floor. Once completed, this facility will help streamline all points of operations and
create much better efficiency for the organization.
CVDA expects renovations to be completed within the next few months and plans to transition into
the new facility before year-end.

New York Times -- Brian Wilcox, 30, is a customer service specialist for K40 Electronics, in Elgin, Ill.

Q. What do you do at your company?

A. We sell car radar- and laser-detection devices to dealers. After a customer buys a device from a dealer and registers it, he or she can call me directly for follow-up questions about installation, operation or anything else.

How does one train for that?

I started in sales at the age of 20 in Naples, Fla., selling luxury cars. K40 hired me five years ago to do inside sales. But since I have dyslexia, which was first diagnosed when I was in fourth grade, written communication has been a lifelong challenge for me. Peggy Finley, the owner and C.E.O., said, “Now we’re aware of what you can’t do. So let’s give all those tasks to someone else and find things you can do that we need done.” They created a whole new position retrofitted for my skills.

How do you get around dyslexia on the job?

 

 

I’m an excellent listener and communicator. I also have a really good memory. I’m great at putting voices together with people’s history if they call back. K40’s staff is small enough to work like a team — some have worked here 20 or 30 years — so I feel everyone has my back, as I have theirs. In difficult situations I know I can turn to the team for help, but I’m fully empowered to do whatever is necessary to fulfill the end user’s needs. Siri also makes for a great secretary.

USA Today -- Teenagers, already saddled with worries about grades, soon will encounter cars that can issue their own "report cards" when it comes to driving skills.

Several companies, ranging from global automakers to technology start-ups, have introduced services that enable parents to track, influence or restrict the driving habits of their teenage children.

General Motors will go a step further later this year when it installs an optional system on certain 2016 Chevrolet Malibu models that will compile a touch-screen "report card" for parents that will blow a whistle if their kids' speed or drive aggressively.

"The whole point is to help teens develop safe-driving habits," Detroit-area GM engineer MaryAnn Beebe said in a recent interview while giving a demo of the new Teen Driver system.

The report card is visible only to parents via a personal identification number (PIN), and the data is not sent to GM servers. The data is housed in the vehicle itself.

Chevy's new system will eventually be made a standard feature on all the brand's vehicles, GM spokesman Chad Lyons said. For now it's part of an optional upgrade to premium trim levels.

DD Audio recently released the CC2 2nd order high power 2-Way passive crossover. PC Mag -- Thanks to Internet connectivity, cars are becoming more like computers, smartphones, and tablets. But as with consumer electronic devices, most people who own a car don't use and probably aren't even aware of all the tech features that come with their vehicles.

That's what J.D. Power and Associates found in a new report that surveyed 4,200 car buyers from April through June of this year about the tech features in their new vehicles. The report revealed that at least 20 percent of respondents "never used" more than half—16 out of 33—of the vehicle technology features mentioned in the survey.

More than half of those surveyed said they don't use their vehicle's voice-texting and voice-recognition systems, and 32 percent ignored in-dash apps such as Pandora and Yelp. The report noted that 38 percent didn't care about their car's ability to create a Wi-Fi hot spot in the cabin using built-in wireless broadband connectivity. And of those surveyed, 35 percent didn't use their car's automatic parking feature, 43 percent never called a "concierge service" to provide navigation directions or a restaurant reservation, and a third didn't depend on a heads-up display to project information onto a car's windshield.

This isn't much different from the average person using their PC or other electronic device. I know I don't use all of the features on my devices.
