April 21, 2020 -- This year, Cadence Sound has decided to make some drastic changes. We have decided to cease business with Internet resellers and put our efforts into dealer-direct as well as our own ecommerce website.

Our goal with implementing these new strategies is to keep pricing profitable for our dealers, clean up all Internet sales of Cadence products, and offer quality products at great prices that benefit all involved. We are investing in this project to provide more for our dealers and end users.

Cadence has made strong efforts to cease doing business with vendors who have not followed pricing guidelines. We hope that this results in opportunities for our dealers to feel confident in what we offer to their dealership. By changing our structure to dealer-direct and no online distribution, our dealers now have the chance to take advantage of the new market. Authorized dealers are able offer extended warranties and over the counter exchanges to help drive customers to their doors. By cutting out two-step distributors, Cadence is able to lower the price to the end user and still give a profitable margin to our dealers while also giving them lower pricing.

In addition, Cadence has hired an Online Marketing Team that is focused on controlling Internet pricing, and cleaning up the internet sales by making sure the official Cadence website is the only place for online sales. From now on, Cadence is in control of online pricing. Cadence has social media experts who are implementing new strategies for our marketing efforts. This year, you will see a new and improved Cadence Sound!

Two-thirds of the industry continues to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (April 20, 2020) – The majority of businesses in the specialty automotive industry continues to operate during the Coronavirus pandemic. Even with “shelter in place” rules in effect in many states, more than two-thirds of industry businesses have not closed any of their facilities during this time.

The findings are from a survey of SEMA member companies conducted April 1-7. SEMA has been working to identify areas to support the aftermarket industry during the pandemic as it moves towards recovery.

“The results of this survey show the resiliency of the specialty automotive industry and how it continues to push forward, working to move past the COVID-19 disruption,” said SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting. “We are using this feedback to further develop resources to help member businesses through this time of economic interruption.”

Most aftermarket industry facilities remain open under the “essential business” designation, and more than half of the industry’s employees continue to work from a company site, as a large number of production, technical, logistical, and retail positions can only be done at a jobsite.

The survey also found that most business owners maintain a positive outlook, with 87% indicating that they are “impacted short-term but will get through it.” The strength of the industry is depicted by the 82 percent of employees who continue working from at a jobsite or from home, and by the nearly 2,000 companies that have signed up to exhibit at this year’s SEMA Show.

"The aftermarket industry and our members remain positive, and are looking forward to opening back up in the months ahead and participating in a SEMA Show that will play a key role in launching a successful 2021," said Kersting. "Now more than ever our priority for SEMA is clear: assuring the health, safety, and business continuity for our members, partners, employees, and the overall industry community."

To further assist businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic, SEMA has created a dedicated webpage, www.sema.org/coronavirus, that includes up-to-date  information about how each state defines “essential” businesses, SBA (Small Business Administration) emergency loans, paid sick and family leave, unemployment benefits, and more. As developments unfold, SEMA will continue to monitor and collect information and provide updates to the site.

"It is at times like these that the power of a collective can be most beneficial," said Kersting. "I’m optimistic that by working together, we will continue to persevere and thrive."

For the latest updates and resources available for businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic, visit www.sema.org/coronavirus.

1,000 N95 Respirator Masks and 480 Surgical Masks are the First Such Donations by Oracle Lighting; the Company Plans More Such Donations as They Import More PPE Supplies to Help Those on the Front Lines Battling the COVID-19 Pandemic

METAIRE, LA, April 13, 2020 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), an innovator in LED lighting solutions, has made a donation of 1,000 N95 respirator masks and nearly 500 surgical masks to the Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans to help its staff battle the COVID-19 crisis in Louisiana where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is much needed.

“We want to do whatever we can to support those medical professionals on the front lines battling this pandemic as New Orleans has been one of the most affected communities in the country,” said Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of development. “Oracle Lighting works with several companies outside of the United States and these partners have more available PPE sources than we have here in the U.S. Some of them heard about the struggles that we were having across our country and, specifically, in the New Orleans area with the shortage of masks and other PPE.”

Hartenstein explained that many of these suppliers are now helping out by including procured PPE in Oracle Lighting’s inbound shipments so that Hartenstein and his staff can donate to places in need.

“We are now asking all of our suppliers do the same and we have more supplies on the way,” he added. “This is just the first donation that we plan to make. We will continue to import PPE from other countries with available supplies and donate to medical personnel that are struggling to help people with this virus and need adequate PPE made available to them as soon as possible.”

Hartenstein said that after procuring the PPE supplies, Oracle was able to donate the much needed masks to Tulane Medical Center through Supplies for Saints, a group that is managing the collection of PPE for local hospitals.

“Co-founding Supplies for Saints was such a crucial endeavor for us because we realized how important it was to keep our frontlines healthy so they could continue to care and heal those stricken with COVID-19,” said Kelly Becnel Rovetto, co-founder of Supplies for Saints. “These men and women deserve to feel safe that they are not bringing home this virus to their families or contracting it themselves. PPE donations like this make a big difference in the lives of these men and women.”

Hartenstein asked that other companies importing products consider procuring available PPE from their suppliers and donate to those who are in desperate need for adequate protective equipment.

Image Recognition and Cross Traffic Detection now available in a Camera

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. – April 3, 2020: Accent Mobile, a division of Accele Electronics focused on solutions for Expeditors, Upfitters and Fleet Managers is pleased to announce their latest solution in the ADAS category, our RVC180CTD “Smart Camera.” The RVC180CTD “Image Recognition” Camera offers a 160 Degree view while actually monitoring a 180 Degree “Field of Vision,” alerting drivers when a moving object such as another vehicle, pedestrian or bicyclist is about to cross their path. The unique technology is part of the microprocessor built-in to this compact Wide View, Hi Resolution Camera”, said Bob Goodman, Accent Mobile, Director Of Channel Sales.

“Cross Traffic Detection is one of the most important and sought after features in ADAS products and typically only found in more expensive Blind Spot systems that require installation in addition to a Back Up Camera. Our system uses any LCD Monitor available in the vehicle including aftermarket head units and Mirror Monitors, this is the perfect replacement or upgrade to a factory installed Camera. An additional feature is the option of Guidance Lines to assist in Parking. Using the Camera’s built-in microprocessor to extend its “Field of Vision” to a full 180 Degrees, an audible alert is triggered when a moving object such as a pedestrian or Bicyclist is about to cross its path. At the same time a visual warning with directional arrows is displayed on the Camera’s monitor.

While most Microwave cross traffic detection devices on the market are only 60 percent effective in detecting (low mass ) Pedestrians or bicyclists, our new visual detection method gives you a 99 percent detection rate,” Expeditors, Fleet Managers and Upfitters can now offer their customers a cost effective and unique solution for complete backup safety,” added Goodman. The RVC180CTD joins an extensive portfolio of ADAS solutions including Microwave and Ultrasonic Blind Spot Systems. The RVC180CTD has a 3 Year Warranty and customers can take advantage of a special introductory promotion.

This site has been up and running previous to the start of the crisis, but the traffic to this site has increased in the last 1-2 weeks, as counter salesman and installers have extra time to get educated on specific categories in the lighting category. Training and education on the lighting category has always been a high priority with Race Sport Lighting, and are convinced that dealers that package training knowledge with displays, simply sell more lighting that dealers without training and displays. Race Sport Lighting even has an online RS University where staff can get certifications in specific areas of lighting to become experts.
"We designed the RaceSportNation.com website to be a separate site for our dealers and distributors to go to for the specific reason to get training, tools, sell sheets, marketing tools, and anything they really need to be a successful Race Sport Lighting re-seller. The rich resources on the nation site are the same resources we send out internally after they are developed for our staff to get knowledgeable, and then to our Sales reps on the road, and ultimately to our re-sellers to be successful selling and installing the products. Our goal has always been over the last 13 years to be the leader of the lighting category, and that is more than great products, its offering tools, training, and resources that our competitors don't. Value added services is what sets us apart." says RSL President Steve Jergensen

Modesto, Calif. – April 2, 2019 -- ARC Audio of Modesto, California, and Automotive Data Solutions of Montreal, Quebec, have completed the development and testing of the iData Maestro AR interface for its complete line of Pro-Series Digital Signal Processors. The PS8-Pro, PS8-50 and IPS 8.8 are now compatible with the Maestro AR amplifier replacement interface and its latest firmware to provide direct control over your choice of Pro-Series DSP from the factory-installed audio system source unit in more than 500 different Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, Volkswagen, Maserati, and Ram cars and trucks.

Upgrading the audio system in these vehicles using the Maestro AR and ARC Audio’s processors and solutions becomes predictable and reliable with no need to guess about signal bandwidth, processing, or noise affecting the outcome. A direct hard-wired remote turn-on trigger is provided to activate the audio system reliably. This dedicated connection negates the need for signal-sensing-based installations.

The process starts with the client purchasing an iData Maestro AR module and the appropriate vehicle-specific T-harness that is compatible with Pro-Series DSP devices. The correct harness for compatible applications can be found at maestro.idatalink.com. On the amp and processor side, you will need to choose a PS8-Pro, PS8-50, or IPS 8.8 plus the IDATA-OEM input cable. The IDATA-OEM cable is manufactured and sold by ARC Audio, not by ADS.

After programming and installing the vehicle specific firmware to the Maestro AR module via IDATA Maestro’s Weblink Desktop installer app, vehicle-specific installation guides and wiring diagrams are provided by iData for the specific vehicle installation.  It is important to follow these guides as different vehicles use different connection configurations on common vehicle platform harnesses. Details are provided in the Vehicle Wire Reference Chart in each guide. Finally, users can finish defining their system configuration in the ARC Audio Pro-Series DSP utility software. Identifying settings like channel assignments and are required so the Maestro AR module knows where everything is in your vehicle. Proper settings ensure functions like the fader and balance controls work properly.

Taking it one step further the ARC Audio Pro-Series DSP software provides extensive customization of radio-based features as well as the system configuration and tuning tools that have created many of the best-sounding mobile audio systems on the planet. Adjustments for tone control shelf-frequency and midrange EQ are all configurable in the software. Likewise, certain vehicle platforms provide speed-based volume functions that can be assigned to allow different presets/tunes for perfect sound while cruising around town or traveling on the Interstate.

Compatible ARC Audio Pro-Series Devices

PS8-Pro – Eight-Channel Stand-alone Digital Signal Processor
IPS 8.8 – Eight Channel Digital Signal Processor compatible with ARC 1000.2, ARC 1000.4 and ARC 1000.6 amplifiers
