These products will be showcased from October 31 through November 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and include:

Chasing Accent Lighting Kits

Heise LED is introducing three new accent lighting kits to add brilliant LEDs to vehicles. They are displaying a kit to illuminate truck beds, a kit to add backlighting to vehicle front grilles, and a kit that dramatically illuminates both the front and rear interior footwells. The new chasing LED Truck Bed Lighting Kit (HE-CHASE-BED), Grille Lighting Kit (HE-CHASE-GRILLE), and Interior Lighting Kit (HE-CHASE-INT) each come with a Heise Connect chasing controller and include all the chasing LED tubes, cables, and hardware needed for easy installation.

Single RGB, RGBW, and Chasing Expandable Wheel Rings

Heise LED will also display new single expandable wheel rings available in RGB, RGBW, and chasing options that make it easy to replace a damaged wheel ring or enhance a lighting system by illuminating a vehicle's mounted spare tire. There are two new sets for each LED lighting option with wheel rings that expand from either 11-inch to 14-inch or 15-inch to 18-inch in size. A split ring design makes it easy to assemble and adjust the aluminum wheel rings to fit the wheel's diameter. Each kit includes two aluminum expandable wheel ring segments, a cuttable LED strip, a 10-foot extension cable, a Y adapter, thread lock, mounting brackets, and hardware.

Rock Light Expansion Packs

New rock light expansion packs that quickly and easily expand a vehicle's Heise LED lighting system or replace damaged rock lights will be displayed. These kits are available in RGB, RGBW, or chasing options and can be paired with virtually any Heise LED product. They include four daisy-chainable rock lights, four curved rubber-covered mounting bases, four 10-foot extension cables, and a drill template. These lights can be paired with their respective RGB, RGBW, or chasing Heise Connect controller, sold separately.

Chasing LED Tubes

Also on display will be new chasing LED tubes that installers can use to customize the LED lighting system on any vehicle or easily replace a damaged light with the correct size chasing LED Tube. These lights have both an input and output to be used anywhere in a chasing daisy chain of lights and are available in 9-inch (HE-CHASE-T9), 12-inch (HE-CHASE-T12), 18-inch (HE-CHASE-T18), 28-inch (HE-CHASE-T28), and 48-inch (HE-CHASE-T48) lengths.

Heise Connect Low Voltage Chasing Extension Cables

SEMA attendees will also learn about new low-voltage chasing extension cables designed for integration with the Heise Connect low-voltage chasing controller (HE-CHASELV-CB). These cables provide flexibility and convenience, allowing installers to extend and expand their illumination possibilities like never before. These cables, available in 2-foot (HE-CLV-2EXT), 4-foot (HE-CLV-4EXT), and 10-foot (HE-CLV-10EXT) lengths, make it easy to extend chasing LED lighting to every corner of a vehicle to illuminate everything from the undercarriage to the interior to the engine bay. They are constructed from high-quality materials to ensure reliable power distribution, a stable connection, and long-lasting performance. Heise LED is also introducing a new 6-inch low voltage chasing Y adapter (HE-CLV-Y) that allows installers to create intricate and elaborate lighting setups by effortlessly splitting a daisy chain of multiple lighting components for versatile customization.

Wheel Ring Backbone Y Harness Sets

Heise LED will also debut new RGB (HE-RGB-WWH), RGBW (HE-RGBW-WWH), and chasing (HE-CHASE-WWH) wheel ring backbone Y harness sets at the SEMA show designed to help maintain LED lighting systems and keep them operating at peak performance. These sets include left and right harnesses and let installers replace damaged cables without purchasing a new lighting kit. The harnesses can also be used to design a custom lighting system by connecting rock lights or other devices.

Heise Connect Controller RF Remote

Another new item that Heise LED will introduce for 2023 is an RF remote that works with all Heise Connect controllers to operate RGB, RGBW, or chasing lighting systems. This will serve as a replacement for lost or damaged controller remotes and will also act as a secondary remote for users who wish to have a backup or have more than one person control a vehicle's LED lights at the same time.

These new products work cohesively with all Heise RGB, RGBW, or chasing LED lighting, respectively, as part of the Heise Connect Universe (HCU). When connected to Heise Connect RGB, RGBW, or chasing controllers, they can be controlled via the Heise Connect app, available for download on smartphones and tablets. The app features a selectable color wheel that lets users choose from 16 million RGB color options, and a true white light color option is available with RGBW products. Users can also select from 24 pre-programmed patterns for RGB and RGBW and 170+ pre-programmed moving patterns for Chasing. A DIY pattern option can be chosen for chasing products, allowing for selecting up to 16 colors and 3 motion effects. The app also features independent left and right turn signal triggers, a brake trigger, and a music sync function.

Holly Hill, FL – October 17, 2023 – Install Bay® by Metra Electronics® is expanding its comprehensive collection of professional 12volt installation products with new single-zone and three-zone controllers with Bluetooth® wireless technology, micro line output converters, replacement socket kits in various sizes, connectors, fuse holders, and much more. These products are designed using the best available materials to ensure ease of use and years of reliability. They will be displayed from October 31 through November 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Metra's main SEMA Show booth will be #10539 in the North Hall, and its off-roading and powersports products will be on display at booth #60031 in the West Hall.

Single Zone Controller with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology and Remote

The IBBTR18 is an easy-to-install controller with Bluetooth® wireless technology and a wireless remote that puts audio controls at a user's fingertips. It is equipped with built-in connectivity and auxiliary input, and its compact size makes it easy to conceal. A high-quality internal digital signal processor produces lossless audio output to the sound system. The controller is small enough to mount to a steering wheel easily and is rated IPX7, making it ideal for marine and powersports applications.

3-Zone Controller with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology

The IBBTR19 controller shares the same features as the IBBTR18, but it allows users to control the volume independently for three zones or simultaneously on the primary setting. An LED backlight on the remote indicates which zone is active. The controller is equipped with built-in connectivity with Bluetooth® technology and auxiliary input. This 3-zone controller supports APTX-HD, APTX, APTX-X Low Latency, SBC, and ACC audio formats.

Micro Line Output Converters

Install Bay will introduce two ultra-compact LOCs at Metra's SEMA booth; a 2-channel, the IBMLOC2, and a 4-channel, the IBMLOC4. These new micro LOCs allow car audio installers to add an amplifier to nearly any radio, so their customers can experience true sound accuracy at any volume level with all the highs and lows of the original audio. Unlike traditional LOCs, these devices are designed without inductors to deliver a flat 20Hz-20kHz frequency response at all volume levels. Using factory speaker wires, these innovative micro LOCs automatically convert the speaker signal into both an RCA signal and a 100-milli-amp 12-volt remote wire using DC offset. With the ability to turn on multiple amplifiers, their 12-volt remote wires deliver plenty of power without requiring switched 12-volt power sources. These LOCs accept up to 80 watts (20 volts) of input signal and deliver up to 10-volt output signal. The OEM smart radios in today's vehicles have a built-in protection circuit that will shut off or distort audio on one or more channels if the load on the OEM radio exceeds a specific impedance range. These LOCs feature built-in 60-ohm load resistors for those OE radios.

Replacement Sockets

An assortment of convenient new 6-point socket replacement packs will be of interest to SEMA attendees who are familiar with the frustration of misplacing their sockets. These sockets will come in a wide range of sizes, including 7mm, 8mm, and 10mm in 3/8 drive or 1/4 drive. Each size has short or deep options and will be available in 5-packs. Install Bay will also offer 5-packs of magnetic 1/4 sockets in the same size and replacement #2 Phillips bits.

With the convenience of these replacement sockets and Phillips bits, installers will avoid the hassle of incomplete tool sets or searching for missing components while completing a project.

Metra's SEMA booth will also include various cables from The Install Bay, a 20-piece radio removal tool set, and installation accessories such as fuse holders, connectors, spooled wire, and more. Additional product information is available at theInstallBay.com.

MASSIVE AUDIO, Commerce, CA: Massive Audio,Weatherproof, Trident Series Amplifiers And Ultra Efficient Neo PNX And HNX Series Of Loudspeakers-- Gives You More Performance, More Precision, More Value. Simply Put, More Loud Music--Not Loud Noise.

Massive Audio Weatherproof, Pro Audio PNX65, PNX69 and Ultra shallow, HNX6were built for a new generation of sound. Pro audio speakers are more popular in car audio with the increased bit depth and bit rate available in music now. 16-bit, 24 bit and even 32 bit is becoming more available.  Making traditional Motorcycle/ATV/UTV/Marine audio gear obsolete for it cannot reproduce all the amount of content. The higher the bit depth, the more music tones are available at the same time, thus having more content in the signal produces: More Realistic Sound, More Music and More Precise Imagining. The faster bit rate sampling adds to the detail, clarity, and precision of music reproduction.

Massive Audio High Speed Trident series of amplifiers take advantage of the new technology and advancements in music reproduction.  Products built to not just be loud but faithfully reproduce the nuances, detail and loudness that is now available in HD recordings.  To not only make you feel the music but help activate the rest of our senses. To experience music as intended live.

Massive Audio PNX, HNX loudspeakers and Trident Series Amplifiers are made to reproduce live music 16/24/32 bit not just limited recorded music. Like tube amplifiers, most class d amplifiers use big filters on the outputs that limit the low end and high-end frequency response. Massive Audio Trident amplifiers have a high switching frequency, switching well over the four hundred Kilohertz range, twenty times that of a traditional Class D. A 20 to 1 ratio between the switching frequency of the pulse in traditional class d. 400,000 x 20 is how fast it’s switching utilizing almost no filtering.  Most class d amplifiers switch at 100,000 Kilohertz per second which is not much above 20,000 Kilohertz audible range at a 5 to 1 while our Trident series designs are at a 20 to 1 with more content and more bandwidth.

Strong Attendance Expected for KnowledgeFest™Las Vegas
State of Nevada joins New York and California removing the mask mandate

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS., February 11, 2022 — The Mobile Electronics Association (MEA)reported today that advance registrations indicate a much higher than expected attendance at next week’s KnowledgeFest Vegas event. This is the first KnowledgeFest to be held in Las Vegas which will now host the Mobile Electronics Industry Awards, as retailers and vendors are gearing up and looking forward to meeting in person again.

Yesterday, Nevada’s governor announced that masks are no longer required for in-door events, joining New York, California, and most of the rest of the country, who have either removed the requirement or announced a plan to in the near future. The Nevada announcement is effective immediately and supported by the South Point Hotel and Casino. This will allow KnowledgeFest Vegas attendees to have the option to wear a mask or not.

“These are certainly unique times where companies recognize that business continues and the mobile electronics industry needs to come together to support them” stated Chris Cook, MEA President. “The show must go on and the record number of attendees are being heard loud and clear”. MEA now projects attendance to reach 1,500 which would be a record for a first-year new venue. Previous KnowledgeFest locations included Dallas, Indianapolis, Long Beach, and Orlando.

KnowledgeFest Vegas will be a three-day event featuring hundreds of hours of education utilizing three workshop tracks (Owner & Manager -- Sales & Marketing -- Technician & Fabricator), manufacturer specific training sessions, and over 80,000 square feet of exhibitor space with more than 50 booths, capped off with an evening of celebration and entertainment as the industry recognizes the best-of-the-best at the Mobile Electronics Industry Awards.

Distinctive Car Toyz Featured on Real World Retail

Wednesday, 01 December 2021
No Stone Unturned

In the quest to bring every client’s dreams to fruition, Distinctive Car Toyz has built its business from the ground up and expanded to offer everything from new cars to custom stereo systems.

Words by Rosa Sophia

In 1993, Distinctive Car Toyz in Egg Harbor, New Jersey, began with a focus on dealership work, offering gold plating and wood dash trims. Owner James Lin started the business out of the trunk of his 1992 Lexus. After two years, he moved into a two-bay garage, then to a larger location. The business grew substantially before being featured on the cover of Mobile Electronics magazine in 2013. “Then we found a spot a half a mile away from our last location,” Lin said, noting that they built from the ground up, beginning March 2, 2020, while still running the business out of the old location. “We finished the new building in eight months when everyone said it would take 18. We moved in at the end of December and had our grand opening on January 25, 2021.” Lin and his shop foreman, Eric Laskosky, managed the project themselves during the COVID-19 shutdown. The business now has a total of 10,000 square feet, with 8,000 for the garage and 2,000 set aside for the showroom. The shop’s hours are nine a.m. to seven p.m., giving those who work until five a chance to pick up their cars in the evening. The staff of 30 includes a shuttle driver who will take customers home or to work after they drop off their vehicles.
The staff, he said, has grown together for the most part. The shop’s full-time tinter attended the Tint School in Florida. “When I do the hiring, I tend to recruit what’s out there,” he said. “They come prepared. There isn’t a whole lot of training needed when you hire experienced help.”

The business has a team of specialized technicians: Some handle only wheels and tires, and one technician focuses on vehicle lifts, engine swaps and transmissions. The shop offers an extensive list of services, everything from oil changes to car audio, in an effort to meet clients’ needs. And while it began by servicing dealerships, Distinctive Car Toyz has become a dealership, as well. Lin said this aspect of the business became...Read the rest of the story CLICK HERE.

What's Happening - Oasis in the Desert

With a focus on revitalizing the Industry Awards, the yearly ceremony has been moved from Dallas to Las Vegas. Past award winners share their perspectives on an evolving tradition.

Words by Rosa Sophia

For the last three years, KnowledgeFest has held an event in Long Beach, Calif. But on February 18-20, 2022, the show and the Industry Awards will take place in Las Vegas, Nev. The choice was made to revitalize the awards ceremony and processes, and to make the awards more reflective of a full year of recognition.

Elias Ventura, who was awarded 2016-2017 Sales Pro of the Year and now works as the Mid-Atlantic territory manager for SounDigital and Ground Zero, said the move is a welcome one. “I think a change of scenery and structure is necessary, especially with all the present chaos,” he explained. “Having something to look forward to is important. Vegas is a perfect place for the show, and I think a little shift was needed.”

Past Winners Work to Refresh the Industry Awards
Members of the Industry Awards committee—including Ventura—meet to “make sure the process is very fair, and that we move forward in a modern way of doing things,” according to Jeff Smith, director of training at AAMP Global.
He added that it’s important to.... Read the rest of the story HERE.

Shop Owners Teach Industry Essentials at KnowledgeFest

Word by Laura Kemmerer

Known for hosting some of the highest quality education in the mobile electronics industry, KnowledgeFest recently marked a return to in-person classes and networking opportunities. At the event, Adam Devine of Devine Concepts in Naples, Fla., and Brandon Green of The Car Audio Shop in High Ridge, Mo., both drew on their own expertise and taught “Marine Fabrication Best Practices” and “The 12-Volt Insight.”
Devine said he felt the turnout at the debut Orlando show was excellent, “especially being post pandemic. People are still worrying about going to events. The turnout has been great, the interactions have been great and the classes are phenomenal. I’ve seen more interaction during the classes instead of just downloading the content and information and not participating,” he added.

Online education options, though helpful due to pandemic restrictions, had lower rates of engagement from students. According to Devine, in-person learning facilitates more participation and gets attendees to ask more questions. In contrast with few questions asked in virtual trainings, Devine and Green had over 30 inquiries after their first presentation. The two also closed out the weekend co-teaching “The 12-Volt Insight,” an owner-manager class. Devine noted that his store in Naples focuses on high-end luxury vehicles, and his perspective might not be relevant to everyone.

“Understanding those differences and what you should have in terms of product selection could be different from Naples to Minnesota to everywhere else,” Devine said.
What should remain the same, however, is how you interact with your clients. Emphasis on customer service, excellent solutions and getting an understanding of your customer’s lifestyle, in order to better understand their needs, should all be part of the same core practice. With an additional emphasis on selling benefits rather than features, customers are sure to have a positive experience.

“You’re not going to sell a mom who has two kids and makes long trips on the features of rear-seat entertainment, you’re going to sell them on the fact that it’s the experience—the kids in the backseat are going to be quiet and you’re going to have a nice relaxing ride,” he explained.... What's Happening - The Starting Line

Tuesday, 28 September 2021
Fulfilling educational sessions and new beginnings in Orlando marked the return to in-person KnowledgeFest events, while the industry anticipates a transformative year ahead.

Words by Rosa Sophia

Over half of all attendees at KnowledgeFest Orlando, June 25-27, reported that it was their very first time attending, according to a survey by Mobile Electronics Association. Orlando—known as “the City Beautiful”—hosted the debut KnowledgeFest, and those hailing from Florida were excited to have the show in their own “backyard.”

Dave Elkin of DOW Technologies said it was a short drive from the company’s corporate headquarters in Tampa. “We decided to tell our ‘local’ story [to attendees],” he said, adding, “It was so exciting to look around the booth and see all the vehicles owned by DOW employees.” After all, he added, the company’s motto “‘We are Technology’ is something we live by every day.”

MMats Pro Audio, which manufactures most of its audio equipment in Jupiter, Fla., made the drive to Orlando for KnowledgeFest. For regional sales manager Mike Hall, Friday’s show floor experience was most memorable, with plenty of interaction with knowledgeable dealers. Hall said the past year has been a very busy one for the company, adding that MMats sold in the first three months of the year what would’ve normally taken nine months to sell.
“This was our third national event of the year,” he added. “While some might say attendance was low, we felt like those who did attend were very important to our success.”

KnowledgeFest as a Return to In-Person Networking
Professionals from across the industry agreed that getting to see everyone in person again was a highlight of the show. Elkin said DOW Technologies had very positive interactions with key dealers and core vendors, adding, “Everyone has been through a lot over the past 16 months. To be able to finally get back together with so many familiar faces was fantastic.”

He gave a nod to his company’s sales team, underscoring the importance of building value and deepening relationships, and said he feels the industry will begin to see higher levels of attendance at industry events in the coming year.
“I think some folks were just too busy, so they couldn’t get out yet, but I also think there were dealers who wanted to see how this show went before committing or planning to attend themselves,” he said, agreeing with Hall that although attendance seemed light, they were able to visit with a lot of dealers. One of the challenges, though, is encouraging people to .... Read the rest of the story HERE.
