It will identify all connected IGNITION, ACCESSORY, & START circuits and if needed reconfigure the outputs to match the vehicle's ignition sequence automatically. It will poll any accessories or bypass modules connected to the data ports & automatically switch to the matching protocol. It will also identify & automatically switch to the best available engine detection method (data tach, conventional tach wire, or voltage) & sample idle rpm (when needed). • With 70-Series, Omega is first in adding a built-in Accelerometer (patent pending). All “3D” models are equipped with a 3D accelerometer BUILT into the window mount antenna for extra safety when manual transmission starting. If during the remote start attempt the accelerometer senses any movement, it will abort the attempt. Having the 3D accelerometer in the window mounted antenna is far superior to having it as a plug-in sensor due to its isolated & rigid install location. It won’t be susceptible to normal engine vibration that can cause a false positive, shutting down your remote start attempt. This is a major refinement in the user experience.
• All 70-Series models come standard with "Cold-Temperature" start & "Low-Battery Voltage" start, including the "entry level units". These are very useful functions that can help users avoid unpleasant mornings on really cold days!
• All 70-Series Starters have Two Independent Self-Learning Dataports, so you never need to hardware your Telematics device. Both support both the iDatalink & DBI protocols, so you can mix & match the modules and tracking devices you’re plugging in. Systems with a "B" in the part number also include a BLADE slot for use with our BLADE interface cartridges (OL-BLADE-AL64 or OL-BLADE-TB)
• All 70-Series Starters are flashable using a PC and the OmegaWebLInk.com site. This means that the installer can update the remote start unit’s firmware, and set the programmable features. This is insurance against inventory obsolescence. 

Some 70-Series models are equipped with the "1+1" remote control:  Industry wide, the 1-Button remote control is attractive to users who desire a smaller remote, and fewer unused buttons. As this 1-Button segment grows, but more commands are added to the 1-Button remote control, users have to remember an array of button press combinations to activate different functions.

To give you an example, press and release for START, and press & hold for Lock/Unlock, or press 2 times within 3 seconds for... etc. Also, multiple button presses and Press and Hold combinations reduce the remote’s transmitting range.  The 1+1 remote solves this by offering the traditional large START button, and also a smaller dedicated Lock/Unlock button at the bottom, all without increasing the size of the traditional 1-Button remote, and maximizing the transmitting range. It is intuitive and very user friendly.

All 70-Series Omega remote start units have a built-in Security Suite (defaulted off on units that part numbers start with “RS”). This means that every Omega starter has a built in alarm that can be set up with no additional labor if the interface module you use provides door status. It can also be layered for more protection by adding the AU-84TDPB “data” Shock sensor. This sensor has analog door status inputs in case the interface module used does not provide door status. Thus every Omega 70-Series starter can be turned into an Alarm/Remote Start COMBO unit.

Utilizing the same processing power as NAV-TV’s competition proven M650-GM, the ZEN-Vproduces a completely flat audio output without any factory time delay or equalization, eliminating the need for summing devices, an audio correction DSP or the removal of the factory audio compensation microphones.  Installation of the interface requires no modification to the vehicle and is compatible with both amplified and non amplified factory systems[1]. Volume, Fade[3], Balance and Bass/Treble tone controls are retained through the factory radio and echo cancelation for the factory Bluetooth hands-free system is supported. 

Utilizing a 128 bit floating point DSP and 192 kHz 32 bit DAC, the ZEN-Vproduces a 12 channel analog output with a S/N Ratio of 112dB. For vehicles with video playback capability, the ZEN-V supports 7.1 and 5.1 audio[2}. The unit provides a 500mA output for controlling aftermarket devices and, additionally, retains the factory equalizer. 

For use with 3rd party digital sound processors[3], the ZEN-V includes a variable TOSlink digital output which may be used simultaneously with the analog outputs, or by itself. The variable digital output allows for the system volume to be controlled via the factory radio and steering wheel controls without the need to access any 3rd party controller.

The updated ZEN-V compatibility list now supports the following vehicle infotainment platforms:

• 2015 up Audi with MIB, MIB HS and MIB2 infotainment system
• 2016 and up Porsche Panamera with PCM4.1
• 2017 and up Porsche Cayman, Boxster, 911, Macan and Cayenne with PCM4.0

The AL-100DP is an OEM Keyless Entry Upgrade System that adds additional layers of security to your factory keyless entry, allowing you to convert it into a fully featured alarm system, while still using the factory remote controls. These layers include cabin entry protection, shock sensor (AU-84TN), programmable anti car-jacking, etc. These units also work with other Omega add-on sensors such as proximity sensor (AU-94TM), glass break detection sensor (AU-85TN), and tilt/towing sensor (AU-46TD). The AL-100DP is also equipped with a dataport to make interfacing with most vehicles even simpler.

April 2, 2018 - VAIS Technology has released a new satellite radio integrated solution specifically designed for 2018 Hyundai models. This solution allows owners of these 2018 models to add SiriusXM® satellite radio to their existing factory stereo, without compromising functionality.

The new 2018 integration kit provide coverage for Hyundai (GSR-H01, H02), Sonata, Tucson, Elantra, Kona and Santa Fe vehicles. Also, these models are compatible with the GSR-U01 (universal unit) which can be flashed using online software.

This adapter connects directly to the original factory radio and allows the vehicle owner to listen to satellite radio through the existing factory system. KnowledgeFest Indy Brings the Experience East

Another Record-Setting Event

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – March 29, 2018 – The Mobile Electronics Association (MEA) announced attendance for its March 16-18 KnowledgeFest® event in Indianapolis, Indiana. Following a successful first-time event in Long Beach, California earlier in March, KnowledgeFest Indy, now in its fourth year, was another record-setting event with year-over-year growth for all KnowledgeFest events continuing in 2018.

Held in the Indiana Convention Center, KnowledgeFest Indy 2018 attracted more than 950 attendees, including more than 630 dealers, a thirty percent increase over 2017. KnowledgeFest Indy is the only industry event dedicated to the mobile electronics specialist, the installing dealer. And, KnowledgeFest is the only mobile electronics tradeshow east of the Mississippi; attracting dealers from more than ten surrounding states, as well as the east coast, “near east” cities like Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo and Rochester, and Canadian cities like Toronto and Ottawa.

Forty-five exhibitors packed a sold-out trade show floor. KnowledgeFest is unique in that it combines a tradeshow floor with educational programming and training for dealers. Indy featured sixty hours of manufacturer training and thirty hours of educational sessions focused on management, sales and installation. Billed as “Spring Training”, KnowledgeFest Indy is scheduled to allow dealers to get training on new products just coming to market and to kick-off the spring season.

“Indianapolis has become a great venue for us, our attendees and exhibitors. We continue to attract manufacturers from the specialty sector of our industry who don’t exhibit at other trade shows and who want to get their products and new technologies in front of our audience of mobile specialists, the installing dealers,” said Chris Cook, MEA president. “The opportunity for manufacturers to train dealers adds value to manufacturers and the dealers overall KnowledgeFest experience. When installing a Train Horn & Air-Tank/Compressor unit, mounting these large components can be a challenge, so in 2017 Omega developed 2 universal brackets to help out.

Omega is now shipping a vehicle specific master bracket for FORD Super Duty trucks that holds BOTH the Train Horn, and the Air Compressor/Tank.

This BRACKET-FORD-SD-KIT allows the installer to mount all the parts including the Train Horn on the bracket, while it’s sitting on the bench, then bolt the fully assembled unit to the Truck. This is way easier. No running air hoses all over the place, the FORD-SD Bracket holds all the parts in a neat undercarriage shelf.

All omega brackets are made of 100% pure 3/8 think aluminum, so they are tough, but very lightweight, and are power coated Black to match the vehicle undercarriage. They are pre-drilled to receive the compatible parts, and include the necessary mounting hardware & fittings. An slot on the bracket bottom allows access to the Air-Tank's drain cock for easy maintenance. (Not sure why it’s called a Drain Cock)

Mobile Electronics Association Reports KnowledgeFest® Long Beach a Success

Year-Over-Year Growth Continues

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – March 2, 2018 – The Mobile Electronics Association (MEA) reported the launch of its weekend KnowledgeFest® event in Long Beach, California was a success. Long Beach is now the third event in its KnowledgeFest series. The other two 2018 events are in Indianapolis (March 16-18) and Dallas (August 17-19).

This first-time event held in the Long Beach Convention Center attracted more than 1,100 attendees, including more than 760 dealers from California, the surrounding states, and Canada, as well as attendees from five other countries. Forty-five exhibitors covered more than 45,000 square feet of sold-out exhibit space.

KnowledgeFest Long Beach featured more than 30 hours of educational programming for retailers covering installation, management and sales topics. Manufacturer trainings totaled 60 hours. Programming was packed and, for several sessions, standing room only.

“MEA was pleased and excited to bring KnowledgeFest to dealers not only in Southern California, but the entire west coast,” said Chris Cook, MEA president. “In making this decision to bring our unique KnowledgeFest programming to the region, we got buy-in from the major manufacturers headquartered in SoCal and we carefully evaluated locations and venues.
