Holly Hill, Fla. – October 24, 2019 – Metra Electronics®  announces new motorcycle lighting accessories from Saddle Tramp® that will be on display at the 2019 SEMA Show. Originally introduced under the Metra PowerSports® division, Metra’s Saddle Tramp brand has now grown to include its own catalog to meet the growing demand for aftermarket motorcycle upgrades. RGB LED Headlights and Auxiliary Lights

Saddle Tramp has designed new, round addressable RGB LED lights with a full halo and black front face. The BC-706RGBKT kit includes 7” headlights, 4.5” auxiliary lights, an RGB controller and a 7” retaining ring. The headlight has (9) 5-watt LEDs with a 3,600 lumens high beam and 2,400 lumens low beam. The auxiliary lights have (6) 5-watt LEDs with a 1,400-lumen light. With 120 color-changing patterns and DIY pattern functions, the RGB lights can be synced to music through an app controller compatible with Android and iOS devices. Both the headlights and auxiliary lights feature a durable polycarbonate lens and H4 connector.

Replacement LED Taillight for 1999-Up* Harley-Davidson Models

Saddle Tramp has also designed a unique replacement LED taillight with an eagle claw style for 1999-up* Harley-Davidson models. This taillight provides super bright, fast-acting visual alerts with 20 red LEDs for running and braking lights and 6 white LEDs for the license plate. The BC-HDTL9 has a black and red smoke colored lens with a clear protective cover, a contemporary style and color temperature of 6,000K to 6,500K. 

Chrome LED Windshield Trim

The new generation II chrome LED windshield trim (BC-WSTSB14) has been upgraded with brighter flat-style LED lights. Made to fit 2014-up* Harley-Davidson models, it comes with 16 amber LED turn and running lights with a dim level for the running lights and bright level for the turning lights. A load equalizer, sold separately, may be required for operation, depending on the application.

Smoke Lens Turn Signals and Brake Lights

Saddle Tramp has designed 3 new pairs of turn signal, running and brake lights with a smoke-colored domed lens for Harley-Davidson models with 3.25” round lights. No additional adapter is needed for these direct replacement lights, making for an easier installation. The BC-PC1157A comes in a single amber color for the turn and running lights, while the BC-PC1157AW comes in a dual-color with amber for the turn signal and white for the running light. Both are sold in pairs and fit the 1157 base. The BC-PC1156R is a single-color brake light that fits the 1156 base with bright red LEDs. All three pairs of lights feature (24) 6-watt LEDs with 720 lumens of illumination to provide a bright yet stylish upgrade for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Highway Bar Switchback Lights

Riders will benefit from added visibility with Saddle Tramp’s highway bar switchback lights that come in black (BC-MHBSBB) or chrome (BC-MHBSBC) finishes. Each pair includes (6) 6-watt white LED driving lights and (6) 6-watt amber LED signal lights to fit 1.25” round bars for Harley-Davidson, Indian, Victory or other motorcycle models. The lights illuminate white while driving and amber while turning to ensure that other drivers will see the rider on the road. Rubber inserts are included with every light bar. Radio Dash Kits for Harley-Davidson

Saddle Tramp introduces three improved radio dash kits designed for Harley-Davidson 2014-up* Street Glide, Electra Glide and Ultra Limited models and 2015-up* Road Glide models. Both the 95-9700WR and the 99-9700WR are water-resistant, molded in ASA plastic and feature patent-pending designs. They include data interface accessory power and provide data for factory security systems. The 95-9700WR kit is designed for Double-DIN radio installations and includes a handlebar control interface and antenna adapter. The 99-9700WR kit is designed for Single-DIN radio installations and includes an LCD screen that retains oil pressure and EITMS info. The 99-9700WR kit is also available with a handlebar control interface as the 99-9714WR. The 99-9714WR also includes an LCD screen that provides information for personalized settings that would otherwise be lost on an aftermarket radio. 

The fourth new radio kit from Saddle Tramp is designed for 1996-2013 Harley-Davidson Touring models and features a water-resistant design. The 99-9613WR is a single molded piece for solid installation with a rubber gasket to fight vibration and moisture. It includes an electronic magnetic antenna that replaces the factory rear-mounted antenna mast and a handlebar audio control retention interface. Speaker adapters are also available for these same models.

Harley-Davidson Tour-Pak® Lids and Hardware

Motorcycle audio upgrades replacing the factory speakers will be easier with two new styles of Harley-Davidson Tour-Pak® lids with speaker adapters that fit 6x9-inch speakers. Lids designed for models with the OEM Tour-Pak are made of ABS plastic, painted vivid black, work with the OEM hardware and include speaker grilles, a backrest pad and new gasket seal.

BC-TP6914U: Fits Harley-Davidson 2014-up*

BC-TP699713: Fits Harley-Davidson 1996-2013

The BC-TPHK is an optional premium bolt-on latch and hardware kit for the BC-TP699713 if using the OEM hardware is not desired. (Harley-Davidson part #HD-39787A is required if OE hardware installation is desired for 1997-2013 models). This kit fits 1996-2013 Harley-Davidson models with the OEM Tour-Pak. This one-touch open and close operating kit includes a new lock, hinges, latches, a tether, bolt-on hardware and a drill template.

Protective Saddlebag Lid Covers and Rubber Gasket Seals

Protects saddlebags from the elements with new water-resistant nylon saddlebag lid covers (BC-SBLC) for 1996-up* Harley-Davidson Touring models. This three-piece set is complete with a storage bag for the lid covers and fits both Saddle Tramp and OEM saddlebag lids. The BC-HDGASKET is a pair of rubber gasket seals that fit Saddle Tramp and OEM saddlebag lids. The hollow tubed insulation gasket come with double-sided tape for easy installation. 

Axxess DSP Packages for Harley-Davidson

Saddle Tramp highlights two new DSP packages with water-resistant cases for an improved sound system. The AX-DSPX-HD1-WR is designed for Harley-Davidson 1998-2013 models, while the AX-DSPX-HD2-WR is for Harley-Davidson 2014-up* models. Both cases feature a water-resistant plug-n-play harness and AX-DSP-X from Axxess. The amplifier, if equipped, does not need to be retained and all the wiring will be done at the radio. 

Sound Control and Hands-Free Accessories

Saddle Tramp has designed new universal accessories to enhance the listening experience using a smartphone and bring hands-free convenience to the rider. Saddle Tramp’s Universal Handlebar Bluetooth® Speaker System (BC-BTHBS) adds a pair of durable metal handlebar speakers that can stream music via a Bluetooth® enabled audio device or smartphone, a built-in FM tuner or a USB input . The USB input can play MP3, WMA or WAV music files and provide 1 amp device charging. The 3-inch pair of water-resistant speakers are capable of producing a peak stereo output of 20 watts each. Two-thirds of the industry continues to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (April 20, 2020) – The majority of businesses in the specialty automotive industry continues to operate during the Coronavirus pandemic. Even with “shelter in place” rules in effect in many states, more than two-thirds of industry businesses have not closed any of their facilities during this time.

The findings are from a survey of SEMA member companies conducted April 1-7. SEMA has been working to identify areas to support the aftermarket industry during the pandemic as it moves towards recovery.

“The results of this survey show the resiliency of the specialty automotive industry and how it continues to push forward, working to move past the COVID-19 disruption,” said SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting. “We are using this feedback to further develop resources to help member businesses through this time of economic interruption.”

Most aftermarket industry facilities remain open under the “essential business” designation, and more than half of the industry’s employees continue to work from a company site, as a large number of production, technical, logistical, and retail positions can only be done at a jobsite. 

The survey also found that most business owners maintain a positive outlook, with 87% indicating that they are “impacted short-term but will get through it.” The strength of the industry is depicted by the 82 percent of employees who continue working from at a jobsite or from home, and by the nearly 2,000 companies that have signed up to exhibit at this year’s SEMA Show. 

"The aftermarket industry and our members remain positive, and are looking forward to opening back up in the months ahead and participating in a SEMA Show that will play a key role in launching a successful 2021," said Kersting. "Now more than ever our priority for SEMA is clear: assuring the health, safety, and business continuity for our members, partners, employees, and the overall industry community."
