Holly Hill, FL – January 28, 2020 – Metra Electronics^® will host six training sessions at the 2020 KnowledgeFest™ event in Long Beach, California, for mobile electronics installers. Heise will also be hosting two training sessions, “Selling and Installing Heise LED Lighting Solutions,” on Saturday, February 8^th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 9^th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The recent popularity in aftermarket LED lighting presents a valuable opportunity for installers to go beyond car audio services, giving consumers a way to customize their ride and increase visibility in the dark. This training will cover new lightbars, integrating switch panels, replacement LED headlights, RGB and RGBW accent lights and safety lights for upfitting commercial equipment and fleet vehicles. Axxess will be hosting two different training sessions. The session will be hosted on Saturday, February 8th from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m and will show installers that upgrading a sound system doesn’t have to be complicated. The second Axxess training session on Friday, February 7^th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., “The Future of Vehicle Integration with New Axxess Products,” addresses the growing challenges and complexity of integration for the aftermarket 12volt industry. With the reduction in OE radio chassis sizes, the rising popularity of tablet-style screens, and many of the personalization features controlled through the OE radio, it is difficult for shops to offer simple aftermarket solutions. Attendees will learn about new products from Axxess that have been engineered specifically to address the complexity of today’s integrated vehicle technology systems and retain key convenience and safety features when upgrading a radio. For consumers who want to keep their radio but add safety, navigation, smart device mirroring, or simply override the annoying STOP/START engine feature, installers can learn about these new products from Axxess that will make their customer’s ride much more enjoyable. 13 New TurboKits® Will Be Displayed at CES

These new kits are engineered to fit either standard ISO Single-DIN or Double-DIN radios in addition to several custom engineered kits for specific Double-DIN radios with a compact shallow mount chassis design and larger 7” screen. The 6-inch oval trailer lights with the rubber grommets are available in red (HE-TR6001), amber (HE-TR6002) or white (HE-TR6003) LED colors respectively for vehicle braking/turning/taillight, turning or backup functions. Heise Marker Lights

Heise’s new rectangle marker lights with reflectors function as both a clearance light and a side marker light when properly mounted. In red (HE-TRRF01) and amber (HE-TRRF02), these lights have the 2 LEDs and reflectors combined in one.

Heise’s marker clearance lights also come in 2.5-inch round marker lights with 9 LEDs, with and without rubber grommets. The 2.5-inch round marker lights with the rubber grommets are available in red (HE-TR2501), amber (HE-TR2502) or white (HE-TR2503) LED colors. Heise Work Lights

Heise’s existing lineup of work lights are idea for trailers and commercial heavy equipment vehicles. They come in black die-cast aluminum housing in 4.75-inch diagonal, 3.625 by 2-inch and 3.625 by 1.75-inch sizes. Each working light is rated IP67 with stainless 316 hardware and integrated-epoxy encapsulated electronics.

Vehicle Safety and Connection Accessories from iBEAM

Reducing blindspots in large trailers or commercial vehicles is a growing priority for drivers. iBEAM has several commercial wireless monitors and cameras designed for larger vehicles where running wires isn't possible or easy. iBEAM also has several heavy-duty cameras with night vision designed specifically for larger commercial vehicles. These existing solutions are included in the new trailer line and new camera connection accessories will be introduced at SEMA.

To allow drivers to quickly power, connect and disconnect the cameras when hooking or unhooking from trailers and other electrical devices, Metra is featuring a new quick disconnect cable and pair of brackets from iBEAM. The new TE-TCEX-1 is a quick disconnect cable with water-resistant seals that has 32 feet of cable to run through the truck to the monitor with a maximum of 10 additional feet of extendable coil at the hitch. The new TE-TRBRKT is a pair of trailer quick disconnect brackets. They are made of heavy-duty metal and have an open slot on the mounting bracket for the disconnects that makes running the cable much easier. These products work together to make connecting and disconnecting the camera from the trailer easier and safer for everyone involved.

Trailer Wiring and Installation Accessories from The Install Bay

New trailer wiring will include a variety of options for installers to provide everything needed for integrating electrical aftermarket parts. Holly Hill, Fla. –  October 16, 2019 –  Metra Electronics® will debut a new set of universal 7-inch replacement headlights with an RGB backlit LED to give owners more styles and custom color choices for their vehicle in addition to an RGB LED headlight and fog light kit. These universal lights will fit most of the newer Jeep Wrangler® models (including the 2018-up* JL with use of adapter) and other vehicle applications with a 7-inch round headlight and 4-inch round fog light. Additional accessories including fog light adapter harnesses and connectors will also be available. An 8 gang switch panel designed for outdoor vehicles from Heise® will also be introduced to integrate lighting control for aftermarket add-ons. These products will join Metra’s large display of off-road, truck, Jeep® and powersports products at the 2019 SEMA Show in booth 37017 in the South Hall Upper Level and also be at their main booth 11639 in the North Hall.

RGB Backlit LED Headlight (JP-704RGB)

The new JP-704RGB replacement headlight set features backlit (15) 5-watt RGB LEDs in each light and produces 4,000 lumens for the high beam and 2,200 lumens for the low beam. The virtually unbreakable polycarbonate lens cover makes this the ideal off-road solution for trail riding Jeep owners. The HE-CBRGB controller is sold separately and required for operation of the RGB lights, which allows the user to change colors, sync to music and more from the Heise RGB app, available for Android® and iOS® devices. The control box is sealed so that it can be mounted in an engine compartment without fear of failure and features a simple two wire connection. This headlight set also works with Heise’s existing RGB accent lights, plus Infinite Series lightbars and cube style lights with RGB backlit LEDs, allowing an entire system to be synced using the HE-CBRGB controller.

RGB LED Headlight and Fog Light Kit (JP-706RGBKT)

A different style of 7-inch headlights with addressable RGB LEDs will be introduced in the JP-706RGBKT kit, which features (9) 5-watt LEDs in each headlight. The headlights produce 3,600 lumens of illumination for the high beam and 2,400 lumens for the low beam. This kit also includes a set of matching 4-inch fog lights with RGB LED lights and the RGB controller. The fog lights have (6) 5-watt LEDs each that produce 1,400 lumens of illumination. Drivers will be able to change the color of their lights with the swipe of a finger with 120 different color changing patterns that can sync to music and are controlled via the Car Light mobile app, available for Android® and iOS® devices. Both of the new RGB replacement headlights are rated IP67 and use the standard H4 connectors.

Adapter Harness for Fog Lights

The new JP-JWFLAH is a simple plug-n-play 9145 to PSX24W connector adapter harness for Jeep Wrangler 2010 and up* JK and JL models that comes in a 2-pack. The new JP-H4H13DE is designed for 7-inch headlights in 2007-up* Jeep Wrangler JK models. This set comes with 2 adapters and 2 CANBUS decoders to eliminate the bulb out warning light and flickering of headlights when replacing factory lights with aftermarket lights.

Heise® 8 Gang Switch Panel

Integrate lighting control into any Jeep model with Heise’s universal control panel that can fit into the dash panel, center console, vehicle pillar or even the overhead sunglass holder. This gang switch panel system controls up to 8 different auxiliary LED lights or electrical devices and has 50 different switch stickers included for customization. Blue LED backlighting illuminates the switches and it can handle all types of 12V DC accessories. Holly Hill, FL - October 2017 – Metra Electronics, a leading manufacturer for aftermarket car audio installation accessories, is introducing ten new speaker adapters for several late model luxury cars and other popular vehicle applications. The speaker adapters will be on display October 31 to November 3 at the 2017 SEMA Show at booth #11639 in the North Hall. Speaker Adapters for Luxury Models

For Audi A3 and A4 2000 - 2010 models, the 82-9101 includes a break-away tab design that allows flexibility for installation of aftermarket 6 inch to 6 ¾ inch speakers in the front and rear doors. The 82-9102 is for Audi A3 and A4 1996 - 2001 models, and includes a break-away tab design for aftermarket 6 inch to 6 ¾ inch speakers in the rear doors. For Lexus RX300 1999 - 2003 models, the 82-8151 includes break-away tabs for installation of aftermarket 6 inch to 6 ¾ inch speakers in the front doors.

Four new speaker adapters will debut for Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class models. The 82-8701 is for Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2007 - 2017 models and the  82-8702  is for  2000 - 2011 models, with a break-away tab design for aftermarket 6 inch to 6 ¾ inch speakers in the front doors. The 82-8703 is for 5 ¼ inch speakers in the rear doors for Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2000 - 2011 models. The 82-8704 allows installers to upgrade to aftermarket 6 ½ inch to 6 ¾ inch speakers in the rear deck location for Mercedes-Benz E-Class 1995 - 2004 models.

Chevrolet Camaro 2010 - 2015 models will now have the 82-3019 speaker adapter, which adapts 6 by 9 inch speakers to the rear deck location. Metra’s existing 82-6901 is available to convert speakers for 6 inch component sets. For Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2007 - 2013 models, the 82-3020 offers a break-away tab for installation of 6 inch to 6 ¾ inch speakers in the front doors. Holly Hill, FL - May 2018 – The outside sales team for Metra Electronics will be on the road in a new fleet of branded trucks, decked out with the latest aftermarket products from their 12 volt brands. The 2018 Chevrolet Colorado trucks have headed out to cover different regions around the United States. “By using and experiencing our solutions firsthand, our sales team will be better positioned to showcase our products to customers. It’s one thing to show a product in the box, but now our outside sales representatives will be able to show products which have been installed into the vehicle and integrated with factory and aftermarket systems,” says Jake Bates, VP of Sales at Metra Electronics.

            The trucks are outfitted with Heise LED Lighting Systems throughout, with replacement headlight and fog light bulbs, an 8-pod RGB rock light kit, a tailgate lightbar and track, LED strip lighting in the bed of the truck, accent lights in the interior and a 30” Blackout Series dual row LED light bar in the front grill. On top of the Rhino Rack are two 39.5” Slimline single row LED light bars, two 22” Blackout Series dual row lightbars, amber cube spot lights, green high output LED hunting cube flood beam lights, cube flood lights, roll bar clamps and mounts. Switches from The Install Bay are located inside the truck bed to control the lighting.

            To increase driver safety and visibility, the trucks have iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems integrated into the new radio. The 360 degree 3D view camera system (TE-360-3D) gives drivers a bird’s eye view of the vehicle using four aftermarket camera feeds. The rear-view camera has been customized to fit into the tailgate handle for an unobtrusive yet OEM style look. The iBeam Microwave Blind Spot Detection System (TE-BSM) has also been added to assist with lane changing. Activated by turn signal triggers, the system's two microwave sensors will warn the driver of vehicles in their blind spots via LED visual indicators on either side of the vehicle and also with an audible alert.

            A new radio was installed using the 95-3016G Metra TurboKit for the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado with Metra’s speaker adapters and speaker harnesses. For seamless integration, the GMOS-LAN-09 interface from Axxess was installed with the ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface to retain factory functions for the new head unit. A vehicle-specific USB Hub Replacement Knockout from Axxess (AX-GMUSBAUX-3) was added to retain the auxiliary jack, two USBs and an HDMI port.

The Metra trucks would not be complete without an updated sound system. To improve the sound quality, the Axxess Digital Signal Processor (AX-DSP) was installed with both the two and four channel Micro-Power Amplifiers by Metra PowerSports (MPS-AMP100X2 and MPS-AMP60X4). The system is powered by Shuriken High Performance Batteries with T-Spec wiring, fuse holder and distribution blocks. A License Plate Kit (SDHP-LIC) from the Ballistic Hollow Point Series is used for vibration and sound damping. Also on display will be the Heise 7” Round LED Jeep Headlight Set (HE-PBHL704). These DOT approved headlights feature a black front face with white, partial angel eye halos that connect to running lights. Thirteen 5-watt OSRAM LEDs are in each housing with an 841 lumen low beam and 1834 lumen high beam. These headlights are designed for Jeep Wranglers but also fit most vehicles that use a 7” round headlight, and are popular in the racing industry.

Heise LED Lighting Systems has also launched new LED headlight kits this year, and the H4 LED Headlight Kit (HE-H4LED) will be on display in the featured products showcase. These headlights are brighter and easier to install, with 6000 lumens and a compact, radial designed heatsink to fit better in tight locations. The lights allow for bulb rotation to adjust the beam pattern and come with a 6500K color temperature that can be adjusted to 3000K or 8000K with the included films. The lights features Aviation Level VII aluminum body with 25 watts per bulb and are available in the most common models and sizes for vehicles.

The 99-5851CH is for Ford Edge 2015 and up models with the factory 4.2-inch screen. This versatile design with multiple panels allows for installation of the radio or touchscreen in the upper or lower area of the kit. The 99-5851CH has an integrated hazard button and passenger airbag indicator. It is painted to match the factory appearance and is anticipated to begin shipping in spring of 2018.

The 99-8164B is for Lexus RX300 1999 - 2003 models. This kit is custom textured and painted to match the factory finish, and also available in a tan finish as the 99-8164T. Both of these TurboTouch kits are anticipated to begin shipping in the summer of 2018.

Holly Hill, Fla. – January 02, 2020 – As the size and fit of new radios continues to evolve, Metra Electronics® is launching a new 107 Series of dash kits designed specifically to fit most shallow mount receivers with a 7” screen. The new 107 Series allows installers to seamlessly replace headunits that do not fit the standard aftermarket Single-DIN or Double-DIN size. These kits feature a patent-pending design that will work with receivers like the Alpine iLX-W650*, with special brackets included for installation of the Pioneer DMH-C2550NEX and DMHC2500NEX 6.8” touchscreen in-dash receivers. They will also fit most compact shallow mount 7” screen receivers with minor or no dashboard modifications, making for a more cost-effective installation process for these vehicles with restricted space in their dashboards.

The 107-GM4B plastic TurboKit is designed to fit 2019-up** Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 models and 2020-up** Silverado and Sierra 2500 and 3500 models. It includes a blank out plate to replace the factory radio control buttons. The 107-CH3B is designed for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-up** and Jeep Gladiator 2020-up** models and the 107-GM3B is designed for Chevrolet Camaro 2016-2020 models. A Turbo2 Kit®, the 107-GM5B, designed for Cadillac SRX 2010-2012 models is also being released with new technology. With the release of more than 200 new products at SEMA and CES combined, Metra Electronics and Axxess have innovative solutions designed to cover an even wider range of vehicle technologies and applications. Metra is hosting a vendor training session to introduce these new products and show installers how they can use these solutions to their advantage.

Metra’s vendor training will take place on Friday, 2/23/18 from 3:00pm - 4:00pm in the Seaside Room and again on Saturday, 2/24/18 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm with Stephanie Carver. Training topics include the new Axxess ADDCAM solution for aftermarket camera integration with the OEM radio and its vehicle-specific plug-n-play harnesses. For applications with an existing backup camera that are adding front and side cameras to the OEM radio, the AX-ADDCAM camera switching interface will provide up to three additional camera inputs to the factory radio and still retain the factory camera. AX-ADDCAM interface technology allows the cameras to function automatically for parking assistance, when commands are available on the CANBUS. In this instance, no human interaction is required to display the camera feeds, unless desired to do so. If the factory system does not already include a rearview camera, the AX-ADDCAM interface can also be used to add up to four CAN activated camera inputs to the factory radio.

This session will also cover the new Axxess radio replacement interfaces with MOST25 amplifier retention. These new interfaces provide accessory 12-volt power and NAV outputs, retain steering wheel controls, retain the OEM amplifier and will retain chimes, when present. They utilize Axxess’ revolutionary ASWC-1 technology along with a fiber optic interface that allows coverage into the MOST 25 vehicle applications. The MOST25 radio replacement interfaces utilize the backup camera input of the aftermarket radio to display personalization menus and, if equipped, the sonar sensors.

The new Axxess AX-DSP plug-n-play packages and T-harnesses introduced at CES 2018 will also be covered in the training. AX-DSP packages now cover select applications with SPDIF or MOST50 digitally amplified systems and include the patent-pending Digital Signal Processor (AX-DSP) by Axxess, a vehicle-specific T-harness and amplifier bypass harness. The number of T-harnesses available for the AX-DSP have also doubled, as this new product has helped fill a gap in the market. The AX-DSP, which began shipping in the summer of 2017, already works with a wide range of vehicle applications, including non-amplified vehicles that do not have chimes. The AX-DSP is a cost effective solution for customers who want to retain their factory radio and improve their vehicle sound quality, while still retaining systems like SYNC® or OnStar®. This digital signal processor sets itself apart with on-board digital amplifier turn-on capability, chime retention with volume control, and fully adjustable 31 band graphic EQ with time delay. All features and adjustments are controlled via Bluetooth® to the Axxess smartphone application, available for iOS and Android devices.

Holly Hill, FL - November 2017 – Metra Electronics® to receive a 2018 SEMA Global Media Award for a new Replacement Mirror Monitor and Camera Kit by iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems®. An esteemed panel of international media judges chose this product based on its level of international consumer appeal, and selected it as one of the best products at this year’s SEMA Show.

The new Replacement Mirror Monitor and Camera Kit by iBeam, the TE-CMC-K3,  includes a rear-view mirror with an integrated 4.5 inch LCD screen that displays backup camera footage, but only when the vehicle is in reverse.
