As the premier provider of digital marketing and business services to the mobile enhancement industry, 1sixty8 media is positioned to experience high growth in the next 24 months.

Recent infrastructure improvements will provide bandwidth and scalability needed for expansion.

July 21st, 2021 -- Lehighton, PA – 1sixty8 media Inc. today announced its intent to develop and grow a network of representatives in the United States. As the premier provider of digital marketing and business services to the mobile enhancement industry, 1sixty8 media is responsible for creating and managing websites that provide a high ROI for their clients. They are also the exclusive reseller of the Mitchell1 ProDemand software to the mobile enhancement industry. Qualified retailers are able to subscribe to ProDemand at a discounted rate through 1sixty8 media.

When asked what prompted this decision, Mitch Schaffer, president of 1sixty8 media, said, “The first step was to cultivate the team, and I could not be more proud of the team I’ve assembled. The next step was to develop products and services that make money for our clients. Finally, we needed to fine-tune our processes for ease and efficiency and build the infrastructure needed for scalability. With all of that in place, we are ready to level up our client base and believe that engaging a rep force is the perfect way to do it.” Schaffer went on to say that 1sixty8 media recently added two dedicated servers to handle the increased demand.

“We are looking to leverage the existing relationships that 12V reps have to provide hot leads for our team to engage with and close,” Schaffer continued. “We are not looking for active sales.”

Schaffer said that in addition to an attractive initial commission, 1sixty8 media will pay out a quarterly residual on ongoing revenues generated from referred clients.

“This is a win for everyone,” Schaffer said. “For 10 minutes of work, the rep can earn a commission and ongoing residuals, we gain a client, and the retailer acquires a website or other services that provide a high ROI.”

Reps would be required to take part in a 30-minute Zoom meeting with 1sixty8 media to learn about the company and its services. They would be expected to take five to 10 minutes on each sales call to talk about these services. If a retailer shows interest, a simple email introducing the retailer to 1sixty8 media is all that is required.

“This is a great opportunity for a representative to make a good commission up front and an ongoing residual income for very little work,” Schaffer said..

USPTO Office Awards Race Sport Lighting’s GEN4® LED System Second Patent

RINGWOOD, IL – July 20, 2021 -- Race Sport Lighting is pleased to announce that the USPTO office has issued a second continuation patent (Patent No. 11,054,127) on their innovative GEN4® LED design. The GEN4® was first launched at the SEMA Show in November of 2019 and was in instantly embraced by the marketplace just a month after applying for the first patent. That patent (Patent No. 10,801,714) was issued in October of 2020.

The GEN4® patented lighting system features a 360° ratchet-style adjustable base for aiming, an anti-glare optical beam deflector and a rotatable heat-sink rope for heat dissipation in tight lens/cover locations. Retailers and installers were supporting the product at a rapid pace until the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States in March of 2020. At that time, the contract factory making GEN4® exclusively for Race Sport took a huge hit from the pandemic and had to close its doors. We have been working hard over the last year to move the tooling over to their main factory and make some small adjustments to the design before relaunching. Those adjustments were captured in a continuation patent application that has evolved into the recent patent issued by the USPTO.

“We are very anxious to relaunch the GEN4® LED system to the marketplace with a few upgraded adjustments that will increase the performances even more. It was disappointing that we had to switch the tooling to another factory in the middle of the pandemic, but we are still receiving a high demand weekly for this patented high-performance system to relaunch into the marketplace. We are doing everything possible to keep our relaunch target around SEMA Show 2021, just in time to kick off the new year with some major excitement. We are thankful to the USPTO for awarding us a second patent and recognizing a lot of hard work put into this kit.” - Steve Jergensen, President of Race Sport Lighting.

Orders are building up as distributors and dealers nationwide have requested to keep orders open in anticipation for the relaunch. Currently, our Drive Series V2 all-in-one solution system is leading the way in the premium LED headlight kit space of the industry. For information on Race Sport Lighting’s entire LED kit lineup, visit https://www.racesportinc.com/led-headlight-conversions.html.

Long Beach, Calif., July 19th, 2021 KENWOOD USA is honored to recognize the retirement of Rick Snelson, (now previous) owner of the Car-Fi Mobile Electronics retail stores in Springfield and Nixa, Missouri.

Recently we had the opportunity to speak with Rick Snelson (now former owner of Car-Fi, MO). Snelson recently announced he was retiring and selling his Car-Fi retail stores. As a loyal supporter of KENWOOD for over 4 decades, we wanted to learn the tips and tricks he used to succeed in the world of 12-volt retail.

“It all started with the inspiration of my entrepreneurial father who chose to open up a TV and Appliance store when I was 15 years old. At that time, I was going to school for half of the day, and working the other half, learning the nuts and bolts of customer service,” said Snelson. Seven years later, he accelerated into his own ventures of ownership and sales management, of which soon-after he was introduced to KENWOOD, selling it for the first time at a store called Stereo Buff in Springfield, MO. His keen business sense and talent was quickly sought after, and by 1981 was recruited by World Radio in Council Bluffs, IA as their buyer.   He worked with them to build their storefronts from 3 to 20 in a matter of years, where KENWOOD was their lead brand.

So, where does one go from here you may ask? Snelson had an appetite for bringing happiness and excitement to customers through his love of cars, music, and the experience achieved from that combination. It was this notion that led Snelson to open up Car-Fi in Springfield, MO in 1986 as the FIRST Car Audio only store in Springfield, MO.

The city of Springfield could feel his love for the music, as they helped him propel the business to a staff of over 14, with a 2 million dollar a year revenue by the store’s second year in business...and that was just the beginning! “At that time, we were selling cassette players, both shaft and pullout style…primarily KENWOOD (remember they created the first aftermarket removable anti-theft radio?).” We also capitalized on our local limousine business, of which an alignment with a strategic partner in the wholesale industry (George Hillman) yielded substantial results.

By the late 90’s, Car-Fi grew to 5 million dollars a year in annual sales in a city of just 150,000 people. “Capturing this sort of revenue required significant promoting,” said Snelson. “In order to earn and grow your business, you must not only provide exceptional customer service, but you also have to make it fun. Sometimes I feel like I took that a bit too far… but it worked!”

Snelson was known for some outrageous sales promotions, such as the Jello Jump. No, that’s not a typo…Snelson would literally put 100 marbles in a physical pool filled with Jello. The marbles had numbers on them that correlated to a specific prize (everything from t-shirts to radios). 3,000+ people would attend the events.   You couldn’t drive onto or even close to the parking lot filled with customers. Other events included car giveaways, sound-offs, and even manager on the roof sales, where he or a manager would get on the roof and live up there for days. “We couldn’t come down until we hit our sales goals,” said Snelson. “We literally had a port-a-potty on it. Radio DJ’s would be there giving things away all day, making it a fun event for all who attended.”

When we asked Snelson about what type of sales promotions he would recommend, he stated that of all the promotions they held, his tent or warehouse sales have always been the most beneficial. “I don’t think there’s anything better than a tent/warehouse sale,” said Snelson. “We would bring in $150,000 in sales on a 3-day weekend event. I would highly recommend this type of event to any 12-volt retail store location. You need to make it a selling event.”

Throughout Snelson’s career, he was pivotal in many industry organizations. When In Car Experts (ICE) debuted as a 12-volt buying/marketing group, he was one of its very first members, helping to put it together with David Schwartz. Shortly after, he became one of the first 5 board members of the Mobile Electronics Specialists of America (MESA), a 12-volt buying/marketing group led by its Executive Director Ryan Gunter.

Snelson has also been no stranger to charity work and giving back to his community, even giving away one of his vans filled with gear to a charity that will carry on this legacy.   He’s supported a teen homeless outreach program for many years, helping them to get clothing and supplies for school. He even put a rack out in front of his store with a sign reading: “Need a coat, take one. Want to help? Leave one.” “I have known Snelson for over 30 years,” said Brett Phelps of Progressive Sales and Marketing, who represents the KENWOOD line for Snelson’s “former” territory. “He has a huge heart and would walk through glass for people he barely knew when they genuinely needed his help. It’s been an honor to have worked with and been a friend of Snelson for all these years.”

“What’s driven me year after year is that I’ve never lost sight that the music matters,” said Snelson. “From the way we present the product from the time a customer walks in the door, to the final in-car demonstration, the way the music sounds and that smile on your customer’s face is what truly matters and makes it all worthwhile.”

We at KENWOOD want to offer our sincerest appreciation to Snelson for his loyalty and support of the KENWOOD line over the years, and we wish him the best in his retirement.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® Audio is honored to announce that Elite Distributor Alliance has awarded parent company Stillwater Designs as Vendor-of-the-Year 2020 (Best Supplier-in-a-Storm). The EDA ultimately created the unique sub-headline on the award to recognize the brand’s contribution to the 12-volt industry during a tumultuous year.

“With KICKER, there was never a serious disruption of business,” said Josh Eatherly, president of the EDA. “There was an obvious go-to-market strategy in place way before the pandemic, to have enough product (and a) sale-able price, and it carried through. We wanted to recognize that this was a significant event that happened. This was a supplier that went above and beyond.”

The EDA consists of 11 partner distributors, servicing mobile-audio retailers across the country. Its stated mission is to “collectively seek to improve the business of EDA distributors, vendors and retailers by striving to create a more organized and predictable business environment,” per its website. KICKER is among 11 mobile-electronics manufacturers that work with the EDA.

“We have continually heard that KICKER is doing an outstanding job of supplying product through this challenging time, and this award confirmed that,” said KICKER President and founder Steve Irby, who attended the award ceremony. “We were also honored to hear that several dealers had told their distributors that KICKER literally kept them in business through this difficult time.”

Irby also acknowledged KICKER’s West-Coast warehouse as being instrumental in allocating product into the supply chain.

AlpineF#1Status, the Pinnacle of Car Audio, Creates Atmosphere with “Perfect Sync”

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Jun. 23, 2021) – Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. a leading manufacturer of electronic components and automotive infotainment systems and its domestic marketing division Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., introduce AlpineF#1Status, the pinnacle of car audio.

Developed through the culmination of knowledge and technical expertise gathered over the years as a premium sound system supplier, AlpineF#1Status is a complete premium car audio system that embodies Alpine’s vision of “Emotion in Mobility,” by delivering an unparalleled music experience. It provides listeners with the emotional experience of a live performance.

To create accurate sound reproduction, development was focused on three critical parameters: Time scale synchronization of audio signal transmission, sound arrival and custom tone frequency range of a 4-way speaker system.

Achievement of 384kHz/32bit High-Resolution Audio Playback and Playback Environment

Appeal of High-Resolution Audio

The human ear can hear frequencies up to 20kHz, however, 384kHz high-resolution audio allows playback of ultrahigh tonal ranges up to 192kHz. This poses a problem, as limiting the audio to a range that can be heard by humans causes compromises in the original sound wave, creating a reproduction that differs from the original.

High-resolution audio is reproduced by incorporating frequency ranges that cannot be heard by the human ear. This provides a richer expression in high tonal ranges, expanding the sense of detail and depth of the music. Additionally, high-resolution audio reproduction is clean sound with minimal distortion, even when the music is played at high volumes.

Time Scale Synchronization of Audio Signal Transmission

Until recently, the head unit, used for audio source playback, and the audio processor, used for tuning, were separate systems due to the limited environment and installation space in the vehicle cabin. For this reason, it was necessary for each device handling digital signals to have an independent crystal (clock) to process the signals and timing of each component. This causes deviations in the digital signal called “jitter” (clocking errors) which affects the quality of the audio playback. The Master Clock Management System in the AlpineF#1Status system was developed to resolve this.

Used for the first time in a car audio system, OCXO is a crystal oscillator with temperature control system. It enhances audio precision with a design containing two crystals housed in a dedicated case with enhanced heat insulation that increases the frequency-temperature characteristic from ±50ppm (parts per million) to ±0.1ppb (parts per billion) through an automated temperature control system.

To fully utilize this high-precision device, it is configured to be directly supplied as a Digital to Analog (DA) conversion clock to the ES9038PRO DAC used to achieve 384kHz/32bit playback. This minimizes audio quality deterioration caused by clock jitter and provides a configuration that reaches the full potential of high-resolution audio.

Sound Arrival

In traditional car audio systems, the distance to the listener is asymmetrical on the left and right depending on the speaker placement and seat positioning, thereby requiring high-precision tuning to optimize sound quality.

AlpineF#1Status is equipped with four premium digital sound processors running up to 1GHz/64bit, delivering processing capability of a high-power computer CPU to achieve accurate sound tuning. This enables AlpineF#1Status to perform time alignment adjustments with a precision of approximately 0.9mm, improving from the equivalent of approximately 7.2mm which is the smallest unit possible in existing products.

4-Way Synchronization of Speaker Tone

Conventional speakers are made with materials and a structure suited to the entire playback frequency band, while component speaker systems are made up of materials and structures designed for its individual frequency band. For example, thin diaphragms are lightweight and suitable for playback of high-speed high notes but have reduced rigidity. Meanwhile, highly rigid diaphragms are suitable for low notes, but they are thick and heavy, and not suitable for playback of high notes.

AlpineF#1Status uses high-performance carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) in each speaker that completely synchronizes the speaker’s tone by unifying the diaphragm material of each speaker. CFRP is lightweight, like plastic, yet highly rigid like aluminum. This aerospace material is versatile enough to be used for frequencies ranging from low to ultra-high range and results in the best diaphragm design to achieve the performance of the full specification of high-resolution audio.

As a result, the playback frequency of each AlpineF#1Status speaker covers a wider range than ever before, enabling a wider cross-over for each system component.

Introduction of AlpineF#1Status will begin with the launch of a new demo vehicle, which will tour the U.S. in the summer of 2022. Sales will start in fall. Details will be provided on www.alpine-usa.com.

Appendix

* kHz (kilohertz): A unit of frequency repeated 1,000 times per second

kHz represent how fine the increments are in handling audio source information in a second.

A 44.1kHz CD records 44,100 pieces of data in a second and the 384kHz AlpineF#1Status is able to record 384,000 pieces of data in a second.

* bit: A unit of digitally processed information

A bit represents the size of the increments in which audio data is recorded.

A higher number of bits enables more accurate recording and playback of the original waveform of the audio source.

The Masks Will Be Given to Lower Income Families Who are Unable to Get Vaccinated or Who Have Family Members with Compromised Immune Systems; They Will Also be Used Throughout the Hospital as the Mask Gives Staff an Extra Layer of Protection Against Other Bacteria or Viruses

METAIRIE, LA, June 29, 2021 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), the market leader in high-quality and innovative LED solutions for the automotive/12-volt, power sports, marine, and motorcycle markets, is proud to announce it recently donated 550 A.I.R. Solo™ (Antimicrobial Irradiation Respirator) face masks to the United Way and Port Sulphur, LA-based Plaquemine’s Medical Center in an ongoing effort to help in the fight against COVID-19. The value of the 550 masks donated exceed $55,000.

“On behalf of our Oracle Lighting Foundation Task Force, we are excited and proud to be able to make this donation which allows us to help others during the pandemic,” said Tiffanie Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting CEO. “The masks will be given to lower income families who are unable to get the vaccine or who have family members with low or compromised immune systems. They will also be used throughout the hospital since the mask gives staff an extra layer of protection against other bacteria or viruses.”

The A.I.R. Solo™ (Antimicrobial Irradiation Respirator), which Oracle Lighting developed and launched last year, is a wearable UVGI face mask that is designed to be worn under common face masks and utilizes Ultraviolet Germicidal technology which has been shown kill live viruses such as COVID-19.

“Early in the pandemic we saw shortages of PPE and wanted to help the medical community by developing a sustainable system which would actively sanitize the user’s mask in real item,” explained Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of product development. “So we made a decision to use our experience with UV LEDs and to shift our focus into a new UVGI device which led to the A.I.R. Solo mask.”

A.I.R. Solo is worn under any common face mask and utilizes a patent-pending system to sanitize the air while simultaneously neutralizing contaminants trapped in the cloth face mask by means of short-wave ultraviolet light exposure. The ultraviolet light source is produced via UV LEDs which are integrated into the device. The spectrum of ultraviolet light is separated into various ranges, with shortest-wavelength referred to as UV-C which is considered “germicidal UV”.
