This versatile processor creates a proper sound stage even when used with a factory head unit.

Torrance, Calif. (Apr. 4, 2018)– Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the new PXE-0850S 12-channel sound processor with Bluetooth®app control.

“The PXE-0850S processor allows for customization of a sound system even with today’s factory head units,” said Mike Anderson, vice president and general manager, brand business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Users can tune their system wirelessly with a tablet or smartphone or through a PC, to create a sound stage that fits their listening preference.”

The PXE-0850S overcomes inherent acoustical anomalies within vehicles to develop a well-balanced response and proper sound stage. This versatile processor can be used with a factory head unit, Alpine head unit, or other aftermarket head unit for instant sound system improvement.

Setting a Foundation for System Building
Complex factory head units can make it hard to add on aftermarket products, so DSP (Digital Signal Processor) management is key to unlocking a system for custom sound tuning. The PXE-0850S can take up to six independent signals and combine them to create a full-range signal. The full-range signal can then be sent to up to 12 independent channels, creating an opportunity to add aftermarket amplifiers and speakers to the system.

Easy Access to Detailed Sound Tuning
Now that the system’s DSP management is accessible, precise sound tuning can begin. The PXE-0850S lets users set a proper sound stage by delaying the timing from each speaker location so it reaches the driver’s ears at the same time. The 31-band parametric and graphic equalizer can dial down unwanted frequencies and flatten the response to ensure the system is replicating the music exactly as the artist intended.

The PXE-0850S can tune a system wirelessly or through a wired connection on a PC (using the included USB cable). Bluetooth wireless tuning using a smartphone or tablet requires the free “PXE-DSP-APP” found on the App Store and Google Play. The app for the wired PC connection is available through the “Support” section onwww.alpine-usa.com. Either format allows the user to assign inputs/outputs, crossovers, time correction, and 31 bands of equalization, view them in one place, and make and hear sound adjustments with real-time results.

Tuning setups can be saved for future use in vehicles with similar setups. This is ideal for installers who routinely tune multiple vehicles, allowing them to build a library of tuning setups to save time in the future.

Adjustments from the Dash
The PXE-0850S comes with an LCD remote controller that can be flush-mounted on the dash. The rotary knob controls volume, preset storage and recall, all while displaying the results on the remote controller’s LED screen. The use of the controller is optional and it does not have to be installed if the smartphone control is enough.

The PXE-0850S is available at authorized Alpine retailers for $700 SRI. Visit www.alpine-usa.com for a store locator.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Sept. 1, 2020) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the PXE-X09 16-Channel Hi-Res Wireless Digital Sound Processor. With 16 input and output channels and on-board tuning tools, the PXE-X09 will bring out the full potential of your music for a better sound experience.

OEM Integration

Modern factory systems pose a challenge to the discerning audio enthusiast who craves a premium music experience in their vehicle. With multi-channel sound systems pre-tuned to the specific vehicle environment and highly integrated displays that don’t have dedicated outputs for amplifiers, factory setups make it challenging to add aftermarket speakers or amplifiers without replacing the factory head unit.

Alpine’s new PXE-X09 has 16 channels of input and output that can manage even the most advanced factory sound systems and achieve a clean, full signal from the factory head unit.

The PXE-X09 hosts a collection of tuning tools such as the built-in signal generator and an on-board Real-Time Analyzer to help empower the tuner. Using these tools alongside the 10-band input EQ, 31 Band Parametric Output EQ, 1hz-step crossover, and up to 20ms of Time Correction, a tuner can dial in their system to perfection.

Configuration Wizard

When trying to add speakers or amplify a sound system while retaining the factory head unit, a mobile audio specialist would have to grab all signals and sum them together to create one full-range signal, while also re-tuning what the vehicle manufacturer pre-tuned. With this flattened, full-range signal, the specialist would then amplify and output to upgraded speakers. This is very challenging without costly tools, training, and equipment as the mobile audio specialist may not know what signals are going to each speaker and may not have a way to sum them together.

The PXE-X09 seeks to solve this problem with the Configuration Wizard, a tool that allows the tuner to specify the components in a factory system, as well as the target aftermarket system layout, and then appropriately serve up only the appropriate channels in the app’s home screen, as well as logically mix the channels to get a full range signal for further tuning.

The Configuration Wizard, along with the other on-board tuning tools, can be accessed wirelessly via Bluetooth® from a smartphone or tablet or through a wired USB connection for PC. By downloading the free PXE-X09 DSP app (available on the App Store or Google Play™), customers can get real-time tuning results and compare them with the “Before” and “After” effect. Tuning files can be saved directly to a smartphone, hard drive, or thumb drive for storage and shared via text message or email.

Music on Command

Quick sound adjustments can be made with the included LCD remote controller, which can be flush-mounted on the dash for easy access. The rotary knob can quickly adjust volume, preset storage and recall, subwoofer level, and source selection with results displayed on the LED screen.

While the PXE-X09 was designed to integrate into modern factory systems, it can also be used as a head unit or music source in older vehicles. The PXE-X09 can receive music sent directly from a smartphone with Bluetooth® wireless streaming, so customers can listen to their playlists without replacing the factory head unit or adding an aftermarket head unit.

The PXE-X09 is now shipping for $1399.95 and will be available at Alpine Authorized retailers or online at www.alpine-usa.comthrough Crutchfield. Installation options can be found on the Alpine-USA website through the store locator.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Mar. 24, 2020) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the R-A90S 6-Channel Amplifier. The R-A90S joins Alpine’s R-Series amplifier lineup that’s matched in both power and performance with the R-Series speakers and subwoofers for a “Loud and Fun” music experience.

All the Power You Need

Customers have grown to love the 5-channel amplifier solution due to its ability to provide total system power from a single amplifier. To add value and versatility to this category, without sacrificing the subwoofer power of a 5-channel, Alpine created a 6-channel amplifier with staggered power that has double the amount of power on the 5th and 6th channel. This allows the amplifier’s final two channels to provide a solid 500 watts to a single subwoofer at 4Ω when in 5-channel mode or 150 watts x 2 at 4Ω to mid-basses in 6-channel mode.

The R-A90S can be used in various layouts including a powerful 3-channel mode (200W x 2 @ 4Ω, 500W x 1 @ 4Ω), a 5-channel mode (75W x 4 @ 4Ω, 500W x 1 @ 4Ω), or utilize its onboard bandpass crossovers to independently power a 3-way component system in 6-channel mode (75W x 4 @ 4Ω, 150W x 4 @ 4Ω).

The result is the most versatile amplifier in its class, as it can act as both a 5-channel amplifier that can single-handedly power a full system as well as a 6-channel amplifier to power a 3-way active front stage. The unique channel layout is also beneficial to the mobile electronic specialist, as they can rely on one amplifier for multiple applications.

Unrivaled Performance

With the highest output in its category, the R-A90S drives power to the sound system to create a big dynamic music range for the listener while maintaining a proper sound stage between the singers and instruments in the music.

The amplifier’s high damping factor (>500) produces crisp and clear notes, especially at low frequencies. This amplifier has an extremely low phase shift compared to its competitors, which keeps music focused and accurate for the most enjoyable listening experience.

The result is a powerful sound system that produces accurate sound images with minimal phase shift and internal noise throughout the amplifier’s Hi-Res compatible frequency response.

System Compatibility

The R-A90S has input capability to add the RUX-KNOB.2 Remote Bass Control Knob (sold separately). The remote bass knob controls the bass in the subwoofer by adjusting the gain on the amplifier for quick bass adjustments when needed.

The R-A90S is now shipping for $599.95 and will be available at Alpine Authorized retailers or online at www.alpine-usa.com through Crutchfield. Installation options can be found on the Alpine-USA website through the store locator.

The two models with 9-inch screens feature Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ capabilities

Torrance, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2017) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping two new in-dash Restyle systems for the Jeep Wrangler. The i209-WRA and X209-WRA have 9-inch touch screens and are the first aftermarket Wrangler systems equipped with weather resistant features along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

“Our research with Wrangler owners shows they push their vehicles to the limit during driving adventures but still enjoy the comforts of modern technology,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “We’ve addressed this with our newest Restyle systems for the Wrangler, which can handle inclement weather but are also enhanced with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features.”

9-Inch Restyle Dash Systems

The X209-WRA and i209-WRA Restyle systems are Alpine engineered for the 2011-2017 Jeep Wrangler.

These models are Alpine’s third generation Restyle systems for the Wrangler, and they feature a 9-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 4-way swipe control Graphical User Interface (GUI). The screen is framed with an aggressively-styled dash bezel fitted for the Wrangler. The systems come with Wrangler-specific wiring harnesses for plug and play installation.

The X209-WRA is an AM/FM/CD/DVD system with an embedded navigation system. It was a winner of the 2017 CES Innovations award, recognized for outstanding design and engineering in the In-Vehicle Audio/Video category. The i209-WRA has the same basic feature set, but without a CD/DVD slot or embedded navigation system.

New Features

Part of the fun of owning a Wrangler is to use it for exploring, but Mother Nature can put a damper on those plans when driving with the Wrangler’s top off. The X209-WRA and i209-WRA can keep up with the adventures even when they’re exposed to dirt, dust and light rain. The 9-inch touchscreen and bezel are rated at IP53 for protection against dust with limited ingress and fresh water spray up to 60° vertical, so the journey can go on uninterrupted.

The X209-WRA and i209-WRA are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both models “Work with Apple CarPlay” and let iPhone users make and receive calls, access text messages, play music, and get directions in a way that allows them to stay focused on the road. Apple CarPlay is accessed through the capacitive touch screen or the “Voice” hard button to activate Siri voice control and is compatible with iPhone 5 and later (iPhone must be connected via Apple lightning cable).

The X209-WRA and i209-WRA are also Android Auto Compatible. Android Auto was designed with safety in mind. With larger touch targets, a simplified interface, and easy-to-use voice actions, it's designed to minimize distraction so drivers can stay focused on the road (requires both a USB cable and Bluetooth connection; requires an Android™ phone running 5.0 [Lollipop] or higher and the Android Auto app). Android Auto is accessed through the touch screen or the “Voice” hard button with voice control.

The X209-WRA is a match for drivers who prefer an embedded navigation system. When used off the beaten path where cellular service and smartphone maps are not accessible, the X209-WRA’s embedded navigation will continue to operate with route guidance. When used in major metropolitan areas, the navigation system is supplemented with free lifetime RDS traffic monitoring from HERE®. In contrast, the i209-WRA is suited for drivers who are comfortable with smartphone maps and don’t need an embedded navigation system.

Other Entertainment and Information Features

The X209-WRA and i209-WRA have a suite of entertainment and information features including:

  • Audio entertainment: HD Radio™ programming, Pandora® control, FLAC music playback via USB, and SiriusXM-Ready™ (requires tuner and subscription, sold separately)
  • Video entertainment: Built-in DVD player on the X209-WRA, or optional add-on DVD player for the i209-WRA (DVE-5300, sold separately). Another HDMI input can be added to either system via the KCX-630HD HDMI Selector Interface (sold separately).
  • HDMI output for digital connection to an optional rear seat entertainment system
  • Bluetooth® wireless technology: Simple Secure Pairing (SSP), phone battery and cellular signal level icons, call waiting and audio streaming
  • MediaXpander® technology: For better playback of compressed media and enhanced call sound quality
  • iDatalink® Maestro® module: The included module retains select Wrangler controls (like the voice activated media player, voice activated Bluetooth® wireless technology, steering wheel controls, premium audio amplifier integration and visual parking assistance) and displays select vehicle information (like tire pressure, battery voltage, door status, engine codes and user customizable gauges).
  • “My Favorites” feature allows for customized quick-access screens with shortcuts to the most-used features.
  • The X209-WRA includes Airbiquity® technology which uses the companion Alpine Connect smartphone app to access content from apps like Alpine Go! for collecting desired destinations for future visits, iHeartRadio®, Yelp® and Glympse®.

System Expansion

The X209-WRA and i209-WRA can control other Wrangler accessories for system expansion. When used with the optional KAC-001 External Accessory Control Module (sold separately), each model provides touch screen control of up to eight accessories like a light bar, winch, headlights, etc. A graphical icon and text label can be assigned to each accessory for on-screen identification. Each accessory can be configured for a pulsed, latched or momentary output.

When a rear view camera is added to the X209-WRA or i209-WRA, a parking guide overlay is automatically added to the rear image on the touchscreen. If the Wrangler has multiple camera systems, they can be controlled with the KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Selector Interface (sold separately) which allows up to three camera systems to be controlled from the screen for one-touch viewing of the camera images.

Availability

The X209-WRA (SRI $4,000) and i209-WRA (SRI $2,200) are available now, visit www.alpine-usa.com for a store locator.

The new speakers are the first in a family of components with the Alpine ID sound system philosophy

Torrance, Calif. (May 8, 2017) - Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping its premium X-Series speakers.  The speakers are the first in a family of components to establish the new “Alpine ID” sound philosophy.

Alpine ID

Alpine’s top sound engineers from all over the world gathered in the Alpine Iwaki, Japan headquarters to critically evaluate in-car sound from aftermarket and high-end factory systems.  While many of these systems were able to perform with wide dynamic range and at sufficient volume levels, there was a lack of reality of instruments, but most predominantly in most systems, a lack of spatial imaging.  As a result, Apine ID was born to address this need.

Alpine ID, which stands for “Alpine: Image Defined,” is Alpine’s new global philosophy with an evolutionary approach for solving what’s missing in most car audio systems these days:  great spatial imaging and depth of stage.  The Alpine ID philosophy centers on developing matched sound systems that work together to create a highly realistic sound stage with great dynamic range and sound quality.  The matched sound system components allow the listener to experience a new level of realism and engagement while enjoying music in their vehicle.  In other words, the listener can experience the music as the artist originally intended.  The X-Series speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers create the foundation of sound system components that will feature Alpine’s new sound philosophy.

X-Series Speakers

There are three new X-Series speakers, the X-S65C 6.5-inch Component 2-Way Speakers, the X-S65 6.5-inch Coaxial 2-Way Speakers, and the X-S69C 6x9-inch Component 2-Way Speakers.

The all-new designs are built for maximum linear motor force for realistic reproduction of any type of sound source.  They complement the X-Series amplifiers to produce powerful and clear sound that is realistic and balanced.  Premium materials were meticulously selected to contribute to the overall performance of the X-Series speakers:

  • New radial neodymium motor structure: A pole-type neodymium magnet positioned inside the voice coil (as opposed to outside) creates an improved magnetic circuit with less loss for more efficient power delivery.  Since the magnet is smaller than conventional designs, it allows the depth of the X-Series speakers to be much more shallow and thereby compatible with more vehicles.
  • New nanofiber cone: The small-diameter nanofibers create a cone structure that is lightweight and rigid, for increased sound accuracy.  Nanofiber cones also have good internal damping, so residual energy decays quickly without distorting the original music tones.
  • New carbon graphite tweeter: Alpine chose carbon graphite for the tweeter because it is rigid enough to perform like a hard dome tweeter but maintains the natural sound characteristics of a soft dome tweeter.  The tweeter delivers increased accuracy and extended high frequency range without the harshness that is sometimes associated with hard dome tweeters.

Other premium materials used in the X-Series speakers include a cast aluminum frame for strength, and Alpine’s HAMR (High Amplitude Multi-Roll) surround technology for linear range of operation.

Availability

The X-Series speakers are available now at authorized Alpine retailers, visit www.alpine-usa.comfor the store locator.

Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 24, 2019) - Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. recently announced its 2018 Rep Firm of the Year for the Brand (aftermarket) Business Unit. Dynamic Sales and Marketing from Florida was named Rep Firm of the Year at Alpine’s recent rep meeting held at the International CES in Las Vegas.

President John Schneid and sales reps JC Iglesias and Bruno Maffucci make up the Alpine team. The trio ended 2018 with a 38-percent sales increase over 2017. In addition to exceeding their sales goals for the year, they were responsible for compiling the most sales in the eastern region of the Alpine Halo9 iLX-F309, Alpine’s influential 9-inch AV receiver that was launched in 2018. The Dynamic team also worked closely with Eric Brooks, Alpine’s Brand Specialist in Florida who was hired in 2018, to collaborate on sales and marketing activities.

Besides exceeding the challenging sales goals set for them, the honor for Dynamic Sales and Marketing was even more significant this year because it marked their recognition as Alpine’s Rep Firm of the Year for the second year in a row.

“Dynamic Sales and Marketing has consistently represented Alpine with great customer service and stellar results,” said Mike Anderson, Vice President and General Manager, Brand Business Unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Having done this once is difficult on its own but being recognized two years in a row is a remarkable achievement, and we commend them on this great accomplishment.”

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. recently announced the recipients of its aftermarket sales awards for Rep and Rep Firm of the Year.

Rob Osheaski of Echo Sales & Marketing and Tom Schnell and Stephanie Johnson of Audio Video Marketing were honored for their 2015 efforts.  All three were acknowledged at Alpine’s annual sales meeting held in January.

Osheaski is a co-founder and sales rep for Echo Sales & Marketing, which represents Alpine in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa.  He was named Alpine Restyle Rep of the Year for his achievements towards the Alpine Restyle direction.  Osheaski took the initiative to adapt current processes to identify and sign-on new business for the Alpine Restyle products.  Osheaski’s enthusiasm and persistence resulted in success, and he led his rep group to adopt similar changes throughout their territory.
Audio Video Marketing was named as Alpine’s Rep Firm of the Year.  The company represents Alpine in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.  President Tom Schnell and controller/sales manager Stephanie Johnson were recognized for their sales activities and support of the vehicle-specific Alpine Restyle products.  Schnell and Johnson made it a mission to ensure high customer satisfaction with the products.  They implemented a program focused on the selling process and the end-user’s experience which included personally delivering and configuring the Alpine system to the customer’s preferences.  Schnell and Johnson also increased business for the Alpine Restyle products by continually learning and adjusting their processes, resulting in sales that ultimately exceeded their goals.
“Rob, Tom and Stephanie have done an exceptional job of representing Alpine and supporting the Alpine Restyle direction,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.  “Their leadership played a tremendous role in the growth of Alpine Restyle and set a foundation for our further expansion in 2016.”

2-8-2017 -- Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. recently announced its aftermarket Rep and Rep Firm of the Year for 2016. John Evans was named Rep of the Year and Online AV was named Rep Firm of the Year.

Evans is a direct Alpine employee who represents the San Bernardino, Riverside, Santa Barbara and Kern Counties in California. An 11-year employee of Alpine, Evans successfully balanced his business responsibilities to support the Alpine Restyle vehicle-specific solutions among his retail and expediter accounts. Evans relished the role of product educator and always made time to conduct Alpine product trainings, even if it meant visiting the same retailer multiple times to ensure every employee received training. He developed sales materials based on the needs of the accounts, and his enthusiasm and success helped encourage fellow sales reps to do the same for their own accounts.

Online AV is led by principal Mark Taylor and includes members Milo Kosich and Dan Sparks. Kosich and Sparks were recognized for their success in the Ohio, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania territories. To support the Alpine Restyle Jeep Wrangler lineup, the Online AV team purchased a Wrangler to use for retail visits and consumer events. They also participated in trail rides and off-road excursions for first-hand experience about the Wrangler lifestyle. The knowledge gained from these excursions allowed them to better support their retailers and expediters during sales calls and product trainings.

Alpine also recognized Aaron Bakerink, owner of Custom Sound & Image in Pleasant Hill, IA, as Expediter of the Year. A Jeep Wrangler owner himself, Bakerink fully embraced the Alpine Restyle Wrangler products. His real-world experience with the products made him a reliable resource for his accounts.

“John, Mark, Milo, Dan, and Aaron were instrumental in the success of the Alpine Restyle products in 2016,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Their dedication and leadership will help further our momentum in 2017.”

9-28-2017 -- Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. today announced changes to its aftermarket business unit organization. Mike Anderson has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the aftermarket business unit.

Anderson, a 27-year veteran of Alpine, will lead the sales, marketing, product planning, product engineering and customer support teams for North and South America.  He previously served as Alpine’s Assistant Vice President of national sales. Anderson takes over the position from Steve Crawford, who has returned to Japan as scheduled to serve as Senior Manager at Alpine’s Global Business Promotion office located in Yokohama.

Alpine has also hired industry veteran Dixon Smart as a New Channel Developer. Smart worked for Alpine as an independent sales rep since 1988 and also served as an Alpine rep to the Marine and RV channels.  Most recently, Smart focused on sales development in the expeditor channel.  In his role at Alpine, Smart will support Alpine’s expeditor network and other strategic channel initiatives.  He is based in Broomfield, CO.

“I’m excited to move into this position and steer the Alpine aftermarket team forward in support of our Alpine Restyle models and universal 12V products,” said Anderson.  “I look forward to collaborating with Dixon and our team to provide the best products and support for our retailers.”

With the promotion of Anderson, Alpine is currently looking for a qualified professional to fill the position of Senior Manager of national sales. This position is based in the Torrance, CA office and requires travel for approximately 30-40 percent of the time.  Interested individuals are encouraged to refer to the job listing on alpine-usa.com  and follow the instructions for submitting their employment information.

The 3-in-1 Design Includes a Brake Light and Reverse Light

Torrance, Calif. (August 25, 2016) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. has expanded its lineup of Jeep Wrangler products with the introduction of the HCE-TCAM1-WRA rear view camera system, which is now shipping. The HCE-TCAM1-WRA is compatible with the 2007-Up Jeep Wrangler JK and is the company’s second camera system developed for a specific vehicle.

“JK owners rely on rear view camera systems for daily driving and off-road adventures, so the HCE-TCAM1-WRA was designed to address these uses,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “The system conveniently installs onto the spare tire mount for an integrated look, yet is rugged enough for off-road use.”

The HCE-TCAM1-WRA was developed with the JK owner in mind. The 3-in-1 design incorporates a rear view camera, LED third brake light, and LED reverse light in a 7-inch round housing. The housing has a matte black finish with gun metal gray powder coat accents and attaches to the spare tire mount. The third brake light is 2-inches tall and stretches across the middle of the unit. The reverse light is not only helpful when backing up, but also illuminates the camera’s viewing angle in low light situations. A removable rubber cap with a debossed Alpine logo covers the wheel lock in the center of the unit.

The HCE-TCAM1-WRA projects a color rear view image onto the in-dash screen. Installation is plug-and-play when used with one of Alpine’s three 9-inch Restyle dash systems for the Jeep Wrangler (X109-WRA, X009-WRA, i109-WRA; all sold separately). The HCE-TCAM1-WRA is also compatible with screens made by other aftermarket manufacturers, or will work with a factory in-dash screen (connection to a factory screen requires dealer programming and a third party adapter, sold separately).

A Camera Suited for JK Adventures
The HCE-TCAM1-WRA’s rear view camera is waterproof and dust proof with an IP66 rating (universal standards set for International Protection Marking of products), so it’s ready for off-road challenges like heavy dust and water crossings. The camera is angled to provide visibility for both near and far objects behind the JK.

Smart Installation
The HCE-TCAM1-WRA attaches to the JK’s spare tire mount and is fixed using the OEM lug nut or an optional aftermarket wheel lock. It is compatible with most factory and aftermarket wheels and comes with three mounting posts of varying lengths, allowing the user to choose a post that fits the depth of the spare wheel.

Availability
The HCE-TCAM1-WRA is available now for $450 SRI, visit www.alpine-usa.com for a store locator. The system will be on display at the Alpine booth at the Ocean City Jeep Week, a consumer event taking place August 25-27, 2016 in Ocean City, MD.

The Company’s 2019 Focus on This Channel Kicks-Off at the Long Beach KnowledgeFest

Torrance, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2019) -- Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. has announced activities in support of its 12-volt independent retailers. Alpine’s Brand Business Unit is responsible for the company’s aftermarket sales and has made heavy investments towards supporting its independent retailers.

“We value our independent retailers and applaud them for their passion and dedication to the 12-volt industry,” said Mike Anderson, Vice President and General Manager, Brand Business Unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “The addition of new employees, demo vehicles, and in-store displays represent a significant investment into this channel, and we look forward to using these assets to partner with our retailers to help them grow their Alpine business.”

Investment in People, Vehicles, and Displays

Since 2018, Alpine has hired eight new employees in the Brand Business Unit’s Sales department. All eight positions are newly-created, field jobs that had not previously existed within the company. The positions include one District Sales Manager and seven Brand Specialists who strictly service 12-volt independent retailers with product, sales, and marketing support.

The Brand Specialists oversee six Alpine-owned demo trucks located across the U.S. The vehicles consist of a Ford F-150®, Ram® 1500, Chevy Silverado®, and a Toyota Tundra®, Tacoma®, and 4Runner®. The first three trucks debuted in early 2018, and the three Toyota vehicles were completed last month and are on the road now. All trucks feature the Alpine Halo9 iLX-F309 9-inch AV receiver with a complete X-Series sound system and are outfitted in a distinctive “Alpine X-Perience” custom vinyl wrap. Alpine has launched an aggressive dealer event schedule for 2019 totaling 200 events of all sizes, and the demo trucks will be featured at many of these events.

Alpine has also implemented an in-store display program. In 2018, 110 displays were distributed to 12-volt independent retailers across the U.S. This year, 50 more displays will be sent to additional retailers. The free-standing displays showcase the Alpine Halo9 iLX-F309 or iLX-F259 9-inch AV receiver along with various speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers.

Long Beach KnowledgeFest

A key event for 12-volt independent retailers is the MEA KnowledgeFest. Alpine will have a booth at all three 2019 KnowledgeFest shows, the first one taking place in Long Beach, CA on February 23-25. New products on display at the Alpine exhibit (booth #1306) will include the iLX-F259, the PWD-X5 powered subwoofer with built-in 4-channel DSP amplifier, and the R-Series speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers. A Ford F-150 demo truck will be on-hand for sound demos at the Long Beach show.

Alpine will host training sessions on Saturday, February 23 from 3:00-4:00 PM, and Monday, February 25 from 10:15-11:15 AM. The Saturday session will focus on new Alpine source units like the iLX-F259 and the iLX-W650 7-inch AV Receiver. Monday’s session will cover sound system products, including the new R-Series speakers and amplifiers. Retailers will be able to meet with members from Alpine’s product planning, marketing, and sales teams throughout the weekend.

All KnowledgeFest attendees are invited to visit the Alpine training sessions and booth. Attendees are encouraged to visit www.knowledgefest.org and use the “Education Workshops & Vendor Training - Long Beach” link to register for the Alpine training sessions.
