STILLWATER, USA – April 12, 2022 - KICKER® bids a heartfelt farewell to industry veteran and 18-year Director of Global Marketing, Kevin Campbell.

Since joining KICKER in 2004, Campbell has guided the company’s “Livin’ Loud®” message by creating experiences that embody the music that car-audio fans crave.

“It’s been 18 years of total fun,” Campbell said. “I’ve always admired the (KICKER) brand and the way they do business. People talk about KICKER being family; it really has that feel. The kind of place where we all have to work hard, but there’s an atmosphere – a social feeling that is genuine and caring that comes from the top.”

Veteran employees and former marketing associate directors Ron Burnett and Roger Demaree with fill the position as co-directors, splitting Campbell’s duties to continue the department rolling on its current path. Burnett and Demaree bring 48 years of combined industry experience to their new roles.

For the past four decades, Campbell held pivotal roles in some of the most iconic brands in car audio, having led the sales and marketing teams for Rockford Fosgate, Precision Power, TubeDriver and Morel America prior to joining KICKER.

As KICKER searched for a marketing director in 2004, company founder Steve Irby had a desire for 12-volt industry experience and a strong background of leadership for the role.

“We were looking for someone in the industry that knew marketing, somebody that was well seasoned in the industry,” Irby said. “Kevin’s name came up immediately, and with his strong background in marketing, he took to it right away.”

During his tenure, Campbell focused on connecting the brand with consumers and the 12-volt industry in equal measure. For example, he acknowledged that attending MEA KnowledgeFest served to keep the brand connected with retailers and distributors, while participating in the HOT ROD Power Tour raised awareness for the rod and custom community. KICKER’s continued commitment to attending the annual SEMA Show served to strengthen bonds between the company’s automotive manufacturing partners and an increasingly large number of KICKER’s core dealers.

In 2020 when COVID-19 resulted in the cancellation of most events, Campbell greenlit a massive in-house undertaking to broadcast a weekly, online audio-centric show dubbed “KICKER UnMasked.” Taking the brand virtual through streaming video was arguably the most significant event that KICKER marketing had completed in the past two years.

The presentation of KICKER directly connected to live music continues to be a high priority. Campbell successfully aligned the brand with artists like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Tim Montana and Nashville label Reviver Music. Events like the KICKER Country Stampede (music festival) gave music lovers a chance to experience the same passion and performance that drives KICKER to recreate great sound in a vehicle.

“Since he came on board, we’ve evolved into a more focused marketing machine,” Irby continued. “He had strong opinions and experience in the industry that go way back. He was fair and easy to work with, with a quick wit and an unmatched sense of humor. We will really miss his wisdom and experience.”

According to the MEA press release, the announcement comes after industry nominees submitted videos describing their business or professions. Judges appointed by the association reviewed the videos and selected the winners, comprising the “Top 50 Installers”, “Top 50 Retailers”, and “Top 20 Sales Professionals.” The complete list of winners is posted at the official Industry Awards website, meindustryawards.com.

“I learned a lot from Dave over the years,” said Tracy Focht, KICKER’s Western Regional Sales Manager. “There are many differences between big corporations and independent dealers. Dave helped me understand how to work with each.”
Known for his extraordinary work ethic, focus and attention to detail, Young played a pivotal role in the success of Weser Sales.

“In handling large accounts, you have to work well under pressure,” explained Weser colleague Dana Doyle. “He never missed a phone call or email. He thrived on challenges.”
Upon the announcement of Young’s retirement, Doyle, a 31-year employee, was promoted to co-owner of Weser Sales. He is responsible for the Central Valley of California, northern Nevada, and the state of Hawaii.

STILLWATER, USA – Celsus UK, distributor of KICKER® products in Europe, recently appointed marine-industry specialist Adrian Gray to lead KICKER Marine Audio expansion in the region.

Gray, who will assume a consultancy role to work alongside Celsus UK’s managing director Paul Baker and sales director Mike Keenan, will provide a valuable strategic resource to help foster the company’s growth strategy in the marine product division.

“We are very happy to be working with Adrian on what is already proving to be an exciting project for KICKER Marine audio,” said Baker. “It is very important for Celsus and KICKER that the right people are appointed across Europe to expand the distributor network, and we believe Adrian is well placed to assist us in this objective.”

The brand’s marine-product range provides complete end-to-end solutions for all vessel types, creating a superior audio experience for all maritime activity.

Premium marine electronics require dedicated, specialist distribution and a trade-installer network to deliver first-rate customer service to the end-consumer, something that will be at the forefront of all decisions for both Celsus and KICKER moving forward.

“It was clear from my first meeting with Celsus that the KICKER project was an exciting opportunity,” Gray added.  “My experience and relationships in this field will prove valuable (for myself and the brand) moving forward.”

“We’re incredibly excited,” Weddle continued. “We think David will be a fantastic addition to the team, and not just for the enthusiasm and work ethic he brings to the table.  He has the right mix of character and attitude we look for.

“Initially, his task will be to maintain existing relationships, and then going forward, forge a new presence in territories we haven’t explored before. We want to expand the ‘KICKER attitude’ in the field.”

KICKER, now in its 46th year, has steadily expanded distribution into more than 70 countries on six continents.

“Being a small team has allowed us to focus on the right partnerships and experience growth over the last several years,” said Weddle. “Now is the time to continue expanding and fully realize KICKER’s position on the global stage.”

“We’re going to grow the business by taking care of existing relationships and establish new ones,” said Glasgow. “By working closely with distributors around the world, we can increase communication, improve sales strategy and boost the retailer’s exposure to local markets.  Everyone wins.”

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® has added a powerful 10-inch version of the Hideaway® Compact Powered Subwoofer to its line of bass products, currently shipping and available at Authorized KICKER Dealers in-store and online. The Hideaway HS10 will retail for $349.95.

Adding a larger speaker and more power to the Hideaway’s already popular feature set, the 10-inch compact sub packs a larger punch than the original Hideaway, with 180 watts of bass power. KICKER engineers ensured the new larger cone would barely alter the Hideaway’s near universal fit in modern vehicles. A highly convenient form factor, the HS10’s all-aluminum body readily fits under a seat, in a trunk or behind a truck bench.

The HS10 also features FIT+™ (Fail-safe Integration Technology PLUS), a KICKER exclusive that enhances noise rejection, increases clarity and helps to ensure the subwoofer works with nearly every radio on the planet, including modern vehicles using start/stop technology, and those with up to 40 volts (400 watts) of input voltage. FIT+ has the added benefit of making a line-output converter unnecessary.

The HS10 is ready to install right out of the box. The quick-connect Molex® plug and harness includes power, signal and remote turn-on. The Hideaway also comes ready with a remote bass control for fine-tuning bass levels, an on-board adjustable low-pass crossover, variable 6dB bass boost, phase switch and two automatic turn-on options.

The included remote control allows changing the amount of bass without changing the radio volume, for the perfect mix of bass at any volume.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® hauls its newly wrapped XRV tractor-trailer and road show to Lake Havasu on the Colorado River for the 20th annual Desert Storm Poker Run and Shootout, April 19-22. It is KICKER’s initial tour as the presenting sponsor of the event.

Named “One of the Top Five Poker Runs in the Nation” by Performance Boats magazine, Desert Storm is an event based around a world-class collection of the fastest and most prestigious boats.

Sporting a fresh wrap from 3M® and Gatorwraps®, the 80-plus-foot XRV (Xtreme Recreational Vehicle) will be at every featured event throughout the week. In addition to the rolling showroom, the KICKER area will be loaded with custom vehicles, around and under the XRV’s awning.

MURFCO, KICKER’s Southern California distributor, will bring a 1968 Firebird and 29-foot Nordic deck boat to the party. Lake Havasu audio dealer Wired 4 Sound will also bring both a 2018 Can-Am Maverick X3 and 25-foot Eliminator Daytona with more than 11,000 watts of KICKER power. Legendary Lake Havasu customizer SicChops will be showcasing its Goodguys Gold Award-winning 1961 Chevy Blazer, completely decked out in KICKER gear.

The new venue at the London Bridge Resort is located adjacent to the world-famous London Bridge and along the Bridgewater Channel.

“Lake Havasu City is home to so many ideal events,” said Cal Sheehy, general manager of the London Bridge Resort. “We are excited to welcome Desert Storm to our property and showcase the iconic London Bridge as the backdrop for this amazing event.”

In addition to a new venue, the event featured its tokened “Krusin’ for Kids,” an annual Wednesday kick-off celebration that includes approximately 150 special-needs children and adults going on boat rides. Desert Storm’s charity organization, Storm Charities, is partnering with KICKER, Teague Custom Marine, DCB, Savage Marine, and Biokleen for the event.

“We are honored each year to kick-off our event with ‘Krusin’,” Crane said. “Our volunteer boat drivers take these clients on an unforgettable experience on Lake Havasu, an experience that some only dream of until now.”

The four-day event will feature a street party on Thursday, free to the public, with top-caliber boats lining Lake Havasu City’s Main Street.

The poker run will be held on Friday, and the acclaimed performance-boat Shootout is scheduled for Saturday, which will determine who is crowned “King of the Desert” and “Queen of the Desert” by clocking the fastest speeds on Lake Havasu. Past contenders have clocked speeds topping 180 miles per hour.

“We have an awesome new partnership with KICKER Audio who will be bringing some noise to Lake Havasu,” Crane said. “They are going to feature their semi-truck equipped with the Boom Room, an unforgettable sound experience. This is going to be a Desert Storm Party that Havasu hasn’t seen before.”
