KS-Series Coaxials will retail from $49.95-$169.95, while KS-Series Component Systems will all retail for $249.95.

KICKER makes great sound easy to install, even in the most modern vehicles. Featuring zero-to-near-minimal tweeter protrusion and a thin-profile woofer design, KS-Series Coaxial Speakers easily fit behind almost any factory grille without interfering with factory door components. And the entire line of KS-Series Component Systems and Coaxials ship with adapters that allow them to fit many late-model vehicles.

KS-Series Coaxials include remarkably smooth silk-dome tweeters with neodymium magnets that deliver natural, detailed highs. The tweeters also include a beneficial auto-reset poly-switch to offer protection from excessive power and ultimately distortion.

KS-Series Speakers also include EVC™ (Extended Voice Coil) construction, allowing a greater range of movement and increased frequency response. Internally dampened polypropylene cones and durable rubber surrounds assist the woofers in creating precise midrange and bass.

A new model size for 2020, the KSC270 2-3/4-inch midrange/tweeter comes with three custom bracketing options, built specifically to fit many of today’s popular vehicles and their factory speaker locations.

The KS-Series Component Systems share the same woofer construction and features set as the coaxial models. To increase clarity, 25-millimeter, silk-dome tweeters with a trio of mounting options are included. A coaxial conversion kit is also included, allowing the phase plug to be replaced with a center post that attaches to the tweeter. A two-way, 12dB crossover with three-step tweeter attenuation is also included and fits perfectly behind nearly every door panel. The upgraded mounting options and acoustic control affords the listener outstanding customizability and even greater sound quality.

12-28-2017, STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® has developed and perfected two revolutionary marine tower products:  the KMTC11 and KMTC9 Horn-Loaded Systems. These massive enclosure pairs, available in white or charcoal, will be unveiled during CES 2018 and available for purchase at Authorized KICKER Dealers in-store and online by second-quarter 2018. KMTC Systems will also be available at www.kicker.com.

Designed to generate concert-level volume with exceptional clarity, these oversized 11- and 9-inch, horn-loaded drivers utilize a proprietary Tractrix® compression-horn design with a titanium-dome tweeter. Listeners hear incredibly smooth sound up-close or at a distance, without the harsh “glare” commonly associated with an inferior design. Included in the speaker is a selectable 12dB crossover, which allows dialing in the tweeter attenuation by removing the rear plate. The embossed back plate can also be rotated to match the desired orientation.

The woofer features an aluminum basket and UV-treated polypropylene cone, which is co-molded to a Santoprene® surround for added durability and sound quality. The result is a speaker that delivers concert levels of volume, without harshness or distortion. It is a highly durable speaker that is made to last for years in salt and fresh water.

The thick, ABS plastic enclosures utilize an integrated UV-resistant inhibitor that allows them to maintain original color over years of use on the lake or the ocean. In fact, every KMTC driver meets or exceeds ASTM industry standards for humidity* and UV exposure**.

Matching acoustic performance with an extraordinary level of convenience, KICKER engineered a revolutionary way to mount the KMTC. Made of 316L stainless-steel and ABS, the innovative clamp design fits a wide range of tube sizes, anything from 1-1/2 to 3-1/4 inches without additional inserts, and mounts vertically or horizontally with ease. The through-clamp wiring design and integrated speaker/LED connectors create a clean look without the need for binding posts.

The clamp’s locking cam/toggle system enables a 359˚ swiveling design for easy rotation of the speaker without tools – an industry first. The clamp also houses all midrange, horn and LED wires in a single, convenient location.  This specialized mating socket is used to join the wires to the speaker, and also allows for easy installation, removal and re-attachment of the speaker with a single Allen wrench at the end of the cruise, without removing a single wire from the speaker. The included mounting hardware for the speaker is also forged from rustproof, 316L stainless steel.

The KMTC also comes with matching LED grilles. Seven vibrant LED colors let the listener match the speaker lighting to a boat’s theme, or upgrade to 20 colors and 19 lighting modes with the optional KMLC LED remote controller (sold separately).

STILLWATER, USA – As part of KICKER’s® sponsorship of the event, KICKER Tech Force manager Aaron Malin and Tech Force trainer Jacob Luckey will judge the SkillsUSA Championships June 19-23, during SkillsUSA's 59th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta.

The Mobile-Electronics Installation category tests competitors’ abilities to perform standard installation practices used by certified, professional mobile-electronics installers. These skills have been established through the certification objectives and items created for the Basic MECP certification by the Consumer Electronics Association.

“We hear from retailers on a regular basis that they cannot find qualified people to hire,” said Malin. “There are 107 different categories of competition within SkillsUSA, each category stresses various aspects of the real-world workplace; so when they graduate, they are positioned to enter a job and immediately contribute. The 12-volt industry needs more sharp-minded employees to bring new ideas to the table.”

The event includes a written examination covering the Basic MECP certification, a professional interview and five hands-on applications that include taking electrical measurements, installing consumer-electronics equipment, soldering, working with relay circuits and troubleshooting electronic circuitry.

KICKER is donating over $5,000 in prizes to the winners of the 12-volt competitions.

“I would like to encourage other 12-volt industry leaders and manufacturers to get involved with SkillsUSA at their local, state and national level,” Malin said. “As an industry, we need those young men and women to join us in the very exciting and quickly evolving industry.”

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce, according to SkillsUSA.org. Students excel and often have the opportunity to secure jobs at competitions. Thousands of outstanding career- and technical-education students will compete hands-on in more than 100 different trade, technical, and leadership career competitions.

It’s been over two decades since 12-volt expert Chuck McLennan has been able to call himself a Stillwater Designs employee, but he never lost his fondness for the mobile-audio manufacturer. After 23 years of gaining experience and prowess at several reputable marketing and sales companies, McLennan is returning to where he started his audio career as the new KICKER Channel-Development Specialist.

“We have found our ‘tall-order’ man,” said Charlie Schultz, KICKER Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning

His homecoming to KICKER will have him working to increase sales and build product awareness of the Vehicle-Specific Solutions (VSS™) line across the country.

McLennan’s interest was a stroke of luck for the Sales team, who had a big role to fill. Finding an individual with automotive and sales experience, an extensive knowledge of all car audio and the ability to test equipment seemed nearly impossible until McLennan’s name came across Schultz’s desk. Back in 1988 when McLennan began working with KICKER product as a Technical Representative, he was able to have his hands in various areas of the business. He helped build and maintain demo vehicles, trained dealers and traveled to many trade shows.

STILLWATER, USA – This fall KICKER® will get involved with car audio competition as a sponsor of the USACi World Finals, held this year at the J.S. Bridwell Event Center in Wichita Falls, Texas October 7-8.

KICKER is also attending the event in support of performance-battery company JY Power. The lithium-battery manufacturer will soon unveil a new KICKER-equipped SPL vehicle, dubbed “The Cube.”

USACi Executive Director Jenissa Lillard expects a sizeable turnout to the event.

“Last year we had over 200 entries, and this year we think it’s going to be higher,” Lillard said. “Competitors have registered from 47 of the 50 states and Mexico. Spectators have registered from as far as South Africa to see the Finals.

Over 80 trophies and nearly 40 first place rings will be awarded at the event. The KICKER and JY Power logos will be featured on the side of every first-place ring, as will the competitor’s name. The rings, described as “Super-Bowl Size”, are valued at over $18,000 in total.

KICKER owns a rich history in audio competition, earning hundreds of sound-quality (SQ) and sound-pressure-level (SPL) trophies during the 1990s and early 2000s.

“We are thrilled to see car-stereo competition experiencing a resurgence,” says Kip Litsey, Associate Marketing Director for KICKER. “As the size of the crowds and competitors continue to grow, we are looking forward to supporting the sport we all love – now and in the future.”

KICKER will also support the Unified Finals in Louisville, Ky., October 14-15, and the Midwest SPL Finals in Sedalia, Mo., October 28-29.
