STILLWATER, USA – Improved mounting flexibility and heightened sound quality are the hallmarks of KICKER’s most recent KS-Series Component Systems and Coaxial Speakers, new and improved for 2020 and now shipping to Authorized KICKER Dealers for purchase in-store and online. KS-Series Coaxials will retail from $49.95-$169.95, while KS-Series Component Systems will all retail for $249.95.

KICKER makes great sound easy to install, even in the most modern vehicles. Featuring zero-to-near-minimal tweeter protrusion and a thin-profile woofer design, KS-Series Coaxial Speakers easily fit behind almost any factory grille without interfering with factory door components. And the entire line of KS-Series Component Systems and Coaxials ship with adapters that allow them to fit many late-model vehicles.

KS-Series Coaxials include remarkably smooth silk-dome tweeters with neodymium magnets that deliver natural, detailed highs. The tweeters also include a beneficial auto-reset poly-switch to offer protection from excessive power and ultimately distortion.

KS-Series Speakers also include EVC™ (Extended Voice Coil) construction, allowing a greater range of movement and increased frequency response. Internally dampened polypropylene cones and durable rubber surrounds assist the woofers in creating precise midrange and bass.

A new model size for 2020, the KSC270 2-3/4-inch midrange/tweeter comes with three custom bracketing options, built specifically to fit many of today’s popular vehicles and their factory speaker locations.

The KS-Series Component Systems share the same woofer construction and features set as the coaxial models. To increase clarity, 25-millimeter, silk-dome tweeters with a trio of mounting options are included. A coaxial conversion kit is also included, allowing the phase plug to be replaced with a center post that attaches to the tweeter. A two-way, 12dB crossover with three-step tweeter attenuation is also included and fits perfectly behind nearly every door panel. The upgraded mounting options and acoustic control affords the listener outstanding customizability and even greater sound quality.

12-28-2017, STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® has developed and perfected two revolutionary marine tower products:  the KMTC11 and KMTC9 Horn-Loaded Systems. These massive enclosure pairs, available in white or charcoal, will be unveiled during CES 2018 and available for purchase at Authorized KICKER Dealers in-store and online by second-quarter 2018. KMTC Systems will also be available at www.kicker.com.

Designed to generate concert-level volume with exceptional clarity, these oversized 11- and 9-inch, horn-loaded drivers utilize a proprietary Tractrix® compression-horn design with a titanium-dome tweeter. Listeners hear incredibly smooth sound up-close or at a distance, without the harsh “glare” commonly associated with an inferior design. Included in the speaker is a selectable 12dB crossover, which allows dialing in the tweeter attenuation by removing the rear plate. The embossed back plate can also be rotated to match the desired orientation.

The woofer features an aluminum basket and UV-treated polypropylene cone, which is co-molded to a Santoprene® surround for added durability and sound quality. The result is a speaker that delivers concert levels of volume, without harshness or distortion. It is a highly durable speaker that is made to last for years in salt and fresh water.

The thick, ABS plastic enclosures utilize an integrated UV-resistant inhibitor that allows them to maintain original color over years of use on the lake or the ocean. In fact, every KMTC driver meets or exceeds ASTM industry standards for humidity* and UV exposure**.

Matching acoustic performance with an extraordinary level of convenience, KICKER engineered a revolutionary way to mount the KMTC. Made of 316L stainless-steel and ABS, the innovative clamp design fits a wide range of tube sizes, anything from 1-1/2 to 3-1/4 inches without additional inserts, and mounts vertically or horizontally with ease. The through-clamp wiring design and integrated speaker/LED connectors create a clean look without the need for binding posts.

The clamp’s locking cam/toggle system enables a 359˚ swiveling design for easy rotation of the speaker without tools – an industry first. The clamp also houses all midrange, horn and LED wires in a single, convenient location.  This specialized mating socket is used to join the wires to the speaker, and also allows for easy installation, removal and re-attachment of the speaker with a single Allen wrench at the end of the cruise, without removing a single wire from the speaker. The included mounting hardware for the speaker is also forged from rustproof, 316L stainless steel.

The KMTC also comes with matching LED grilles. Seven vibrant LED colors let the listener match the speaker lighting to a boat’s theme, or upgrade to 20 colors and 19 lighting modes with the optional KMLC LED remote controller (sold separately).

STILLWATER, USA – As part of KICKER’s® sponsorship of the event, KICKER Tech Force manager Aaron Malin and Tech Force trainer Jacob Luckey will judge the SkillsUSA Championships June 19-23, during SkillsUSA's 59th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta.

The Mobile-Electronics Installation category tests competitors’ abilities to perform standard installation practices used by certified, professional mobile-electronics installers. These skills have been established through the certification objectives and items created for the Basic MECP certification by the Consumer Electronics Association.

“We hear from retailers on a regular basis that they cannot find qualified people to hire,” said Malin. “There are 107 different categories of competition within SkillsUSA, each category stresses various aspects of the real-world workplace; so when they graduate, they are positioned to enter a job and immediately contribute. The 12-volt industry needs more sharp-minded employees to bring new ideas to the table.”

The event includes a written examination covering the Basic MECP certification, a professional interview and five hands-on applications that include taking electrical measurements, installing consumer-electronics equipment, soldering, working with relay circuits and troubleshooting electronic circuitry.

KICKER is donating over $5,000 in prizes to the winners of the 12-volt competitions.

“I would like to encourage other 12-volt industry leaders and manufacturers to get involved with SkillsUSA at their local, state and national level,” Malin said. “As an industry, we need those young men and women to join us in the very exciting and quickly evolving industry.”

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce, according to SkillsUSA.org. Students excel and often have the opportunity to secure jobs at competitions. Thousands of outstanding career- and technical-education students will compete hands-on in more than 100 different trade, technical, and leadership career competitions.

It’s been over two decades since 12-volt expert Chuck McLennan has been able to call himself a Stillwater Designs employee, but he never lost his fondness for the mobile-audio manufacturer. After 23 years of gaining experience and prowess at several reputable marketing and sales companies, McLennan is returning to where he started his audio career as the new KICKER Channel-Development Specialist.

“We have found our ‘tall-order’ man,” said Charlie Schultz, KICKER Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning

His homecoming to KICKER will have him working to increase sales and build product awareness of the Vehicle-Specific Solutions (VSS™) line across the country.

McLennan’s interest was a stroke of luck for the Sales team, who had a big role to fill. Finding an individual with automotive and sales experience, an extensive knowledge of all car audio and the ability to test equipment seemed nearly impossible until McLennan’s name came across Schultz’s desk. Back in 1988 when McLennan began working with KICKER product as a Technical Representative, he was able to have his hands in various areas of the business. He helped build and maintain demo vehicles, trained dealers and traveled to many trade shows.

STILLWATER, USA – This fall KICKER® will get involved with car audio competition as a sponsor of the USACi World Finals, held this year at the J.S. Bridwell Event Center in Wichita Falls, Texas October 7-8.

KICKER is also attending the event in support of performance-battery company JY Power. The lithium-battery manufacturer will soon unveil a new KICKER-equipped SPL vehicle, dubbed “The Cube.”

USACi Executive Director Jenissa Lillard expects a sizeable turnout to the event.

“Last year we had over 200 entries, and this year we think it’s going to be higher,” Lillard said. “Competitors have registered from 47 of the 50 states and Mexico. Spectators have registered from as far as South Africa to see the Finals.

Over 80 trophies and nearly 40 first place rings will be awarded at the event. The KICKER and JY Power logos will be featured on the side of every first-place ring, as will the competitor’s name. The rings, described as “Super-Bowl Size”, are valued at over $18,000 in total.

KICKER owns a rich history in audio competition, earning hundreds of sound-quality (SQ) and sound-pressure-level (SPL) trophies during the 1990s and early 2000s.

“We are thrilled to see car-stereo competition experiencing a resurgence,” says Kip Litsey, Associate Marketing Director for KICKER. “As the size of the crowds and competitors continue to grow, we are looking forward to supporting the sport we all love – now and in the future.”

KICKER will also support the Unified Finals in Louisville, Ky., October 14-15, and the Midwest SPL Finals in Sedalia, Mo., October 28-29.

Included as part of the booth display are new KICKER KXM-Series Amplifiers, unveiled for the first time at International CES in January. KXM-Series Amps offer side-mounted acoustic controls that are easily accessed and protected with a moisture-deterring, gasket-sealed door. In addition to conformal coating on the circuit boards, all power connections are ABYC/NMMA compliant.

The show will also feature a “hop off” for cars with hydraulics.

“The goal is to make the front of the car jump as high as you can, with or without weight, and make the car stand up on back bumper,” KC Showdown promoter Denny Eddy explained. “It’s a great way to show off your car and is really fun. STILLWATER, USA – Stillwater Designs® today announced that it has been named a CES® 2021 Innovation Awards honoree for the new KICKER® Solo X® L7X™ subwoofer. The announcement was made ahead of the first-ever, all-digital CES 2021, happening Jan. 11-14, 2021.
The CES Innovation Awards program is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products across 28 product categories. An elite panel of industry judges, including members of the media, designers and engineers reviewed submissions based on innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetic and design.

“We’re very happy to win the Innovations award,” said Steve Irby, KICKER’s Founder and President. “This is a radically improved version of the original Solo X, and to be recognized for the amount of work and creativity we’ve put into making it a reality feels really good.”
A ground-up reimagining of the legendary Solo X, the 2021 iteration was designed to set high standards in a subwoofer’s mechanical excursion, musicality, thermal management and reliability. Offered in 10-, 12-, and 15-inch versions, each Solo X will share a 2,000-watt RMS power rating. KICKER’s SoloX has not yet been assigned an MSRP, and will begin shipping later this spring.

For the past four years, KICKER has researched and experimented with concepts surrounding an extreme subwoofer, while re-introducing the brand to the competition circuit by sponsoring major competitions like the Unified Finals, USACi Finals and Midwest SPL Finals.
“The concept of the new Solo X is to take it to the next level,” Irby said. “It is designed with very tight tolerances. It has more power, more stroke, more Xmax, and still has a field-replaceable cone. The new design allows the Solo X to be extremely loud, but also be extremely musical.”
The no-glue reconing system uses a unique surround compression system and bolt-on spider landing, and is designed specifically to make speaker repair possible in only a few minutes time.

The CES 2021 Innovation Awards honorees, including product descriptions and photos, can be found at CES.tech/innovation. Additional honorees will be revealed during CES 2021.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® has developed and perfected three new, ultra-thin, down-firing loaded enclosures, dubbed the TRTP-Series, and all are currently shipping to Authorized Dealers and Consumers across the U.S. All enclosures come with a single 2-Ohm terminal, and are available in 8-, 10-, and 12-inch models. The enclosures are available for purchase by consumers in-store and online.

Included in each enclosure is the popular KICKER CompRT® thin subwoofer, alongside a resurgent reFLEX™ passive radiator for a significant upgrade in bass without increasing overall depth. Barely five inches high, TRTP Enclosures are built to fit anywhere from behind the seat of a pickup to the back cargo area of a hatchback. The down-firing design allows it to fit in tight spaces, yet still deliver peak performance. The rugged enclosures design has the added benefit of allowing items to be stacked on top of it for max cargo space. TRTP Enclosures are carpeted and custom embroidered with the KICKER logo.

Thanks to innovative engineering, the shallow-mount CompRT subwoofer handles an exceptional amount of power without sacrificing depth. The ribbed Santoprene® surround sports signature red KICKER stitching, while the thick polypropylene cone pumps out smooth, clean bass. The sub’s perimeter venting and UniPlate™ back plate and solid pole piece provide excellent thermal management for the sub at any volume level.

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® announces its co-sponsorship of the 2017 Car Audio Championship, featuring over 400 dB Drag Racing, IASCA and MECA competitors packing the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville October 14-15.

KICKER is also attending the event in support of lithium-battery manufacturer JY Power, and its new KICKER-equipped SPL vehicle dubbed “The Cube.”  The converted delivery truck features 40 elite Q-Class™ 15-inch L7® subwoofers, powered by 20 KICKER KX-Series 2,400-watt mono amplifiers. The outrageous install also includes 12 KXM-Series 1,200-watt stereo amps powering 162 eight-inch, KM marine coaxial speakers.

Last weekend competitors and fans watched the 60,000-watt system break the windshield within 20 seconds of its initial playing at the USACi Car-Audio Finals. The system was running on approximately five percent of total power, according to Travis Young, co-owner of JY Power.

More than 2,000 spectators are expected to attend this year’s event, beginning at 10 a.m. each morning.

KICKER owns a rich history in audio competition, earning hundreds of sound-quality (SQ) and sound-pressure-level (SPL) trophies during the 1990s and early 2000s.

“We are thrilled to see car-stereo competition experiencing a resurgence,” said Kip Litsey, Associate Marketing Director for KICKER.

The Championship’s three organizations are holding open triple-point events in addition to the invitation-only finals, allowing any competitor to build up points for the 2018 season.

dB Drag Racing is operating its North American championships in three locations simultaneously:  live in Louisville, Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada and Concord, California. Competitors in all three locations will battle each other via live streaming.

dB Drag is also starting a “Bagger Beatz” motorcycle SPL class of competition.

“We’ve seen a lot of interest in aftermarket performance motorcycle sound systems,” said Wayne Harris, founder of dB Drag Racing.  “It reminds me of the 90s for cars.”

STILLWATER, USA – Fresh off attending and supporting the Unified Car Audio Championships (Louisville, Ky.) and USACi World Finals (Lawton, Okla.), KICKER® continues its support of car-stereo competition by sponsoring the MWSPL Finals for the third consecutive year. The finals will be The The held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds October 26-27.

More than 120 competitors have committed to attend, according to the MWSPL Finals Facebook® Event page.

After the competition has ended Saturday, a competitor’s party with costume contest will add more fun to the festivities, with prizes donated by KICKER awarded to the best costume. KICKER is providing prizes for many of the functions that night.

MWSPL will also run a silent charity auction during the Finals, with items donated by KICKER and other manufacturers. This year’s goal is to raise at least $4,500, with proceeds earmarked to help an ailing child in Arkansas. Details are available on the MWSPL Facebook page.

This year’s MWSPL Finals will feature a separate “progressive outdoor competition” that builds a competitor’s potential points for the 2020 season. The point value of the competition increases as the attendance of the outdoor event rises.

“It’s a way to build some excitement,” said MWSPL founder Steve Benton. “The more of (competitor’s) friends they can get to compete, the larger the potential reward.”

STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® announces its second consecutive year of sponsoring one of the largest car-audio sound-offs in the West:  the 2019 CES Showdown. Hosted by the Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel in Las Vegas, the two-day show starts the Saturday following CES (January 12) at 8 a.m. and continues to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“KICKER is once again stoked to be helping with this cool event to kick off the competition year,” said Kip Litsey, KICKER Marketing Associate Director. “KICKER and sound-offs have a long history, and we’re proud to be a part of this great early-season event.”

Featuring both sound-pressure-level and sound-quality categories, individual triple-point competitions will be held by dB Drag Racing, IASCA, and MECA organizations. Also, USACi will offer its only West-Coast, quadruple-point event of the season. Showdown founder Steve Barber and the Vegas Style SPL Car Club serve as promoters for the show, and they expect over 100 competitors and a crowd in excess of 1,000 spectators.

In addition to the car-audio competition, attendees can participate in a pizza-eating contest, a tug-of-war, subwoofer toss and a charity raffle. KICKER has donated several prizes to be awarded, including amplifiers, Bluetooth® speakers, t-shirts, caps, jackets and more.

“We started doing this show seven years ago,” said Barber. “I was born and raised in Vegas. As a car-audio junkie, I noticed every (car-audio) manufacturer had a CES demo car. Over the years, the noise was too much, so they weren’t allowed to show off their install. I thought it would be cool to give them a place to show their products in action.

“Now the major manufacturers are involved, and the show has turned out to be one of the biggest SPL shows on the West Coast. People are coming from every corner of the country to compete.”

Spectators get free admission. For more information, consumers can go to Facebook and look up “CES Showdown 2019.”
