Anniversary highlighted by 2015 Ram truck build at 2017 CES

LONG BEACH, CALIF., January 25, 2017 (MEDIAWIRE) – Thirty-five years ago, a company that had already made its name in the development of the VHS cassette and player, as well as multiple television and audio technologies, decided to turn its considerable expertise toward making great-sounding car audio. This year, JVC Mobile Entertainment commemorated three-and-a-half decades of driving experience enhancement during the 2017 CES. Its 800-square-foot-booth featured a 2015 Ram 1500 adorned with the official "35 Years Strong" logo.

"New “El Kameleon” screen innovations, the addition of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, vehicle integration through iDataLink Maestro, plus accommodation of multiple streaming media services, signal a significant technological jump that can't be ignored," said Hazim Jainoor, marketing manager of the JVC Mobile Entertainment brand. "While 35 is not the typical celebration interval for anniversaries, we felt it was appropriate to recognize the company's accomplishments this year. In five or 15 more years, we will be looking at a whole new set of technologies to celebrate."

The Ram 1500 was outfitted by Misha Munoz, owner of Divine 1 Customs in Henderson, Nev. The facility is renowned for its celebrity builds, transforming vehicles for names such as Deadmau5, TJ Lavin, Carey Hart, Tim Love, Guy Fieri, Corey Harrison, Sergio Romo and Axel Rose.

The full-featured audio / video system is headed by the JVC KW-V820BT multimedia receiver with Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM® satellite radio in a Metra dash kit. The receiver’s left and right channels each connect to a KS-AX5104 amplifier, powering a trio of CS-ZX640 coaxial speakers in a fiberglass enclosure bolted along the lower portion of each door. For the low end, a KS-5101D mono-block amplifier drives three CS-GD1210 subwoofers in sealed, separated enclosures made of MDF and fiberglass.

The truck’s seats were reupholstered in red leather by Katzkin, which also covers the door speaker enclosures. The same color was used to treat the trim around the air vents. On the outside, PPG-supplied paint creates a patina look to simulate original red giving way to primer white. The truck also received performance upgrades with a K&N cold-air intake and Ride Tech suspension. The original 22-inch factory wheels were finished in chrome and fitted with Falken tires.

“We had a blast putting this vehicle together,” said Munoz, a 20-year installer and fabricator. “It’s especially memorable because we also celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Divine 1 Customs this past year. We’ve built some great cars for JVC and really value the relationship we have with the brand. Congrats on the 35th anniversary, and we are honored to have a part in it.”

The 35th anniversary Ram truck will make its rounds throughout the year, visiting both KnowledgeFest shows in April and August, as well as select distributor shows and consumer events. JVC will also be developing promotional materials with the commemorative logo. For more information, visit mobile.jvc.com.

LONG BEACH, CALIF., November 8th, 2022JVC Mobile Entertainment (www.us.jvc.com/car) in conjunction with the Elite Distributor Alliance (EDA) held its 1st-ever “Hot Shots” sales training seminar October 21st-23rd at the Hilton Doubletree Conference Center in Downtown Orlando. Attendees were greeted by JVC staff, Jim Warren (Elite Distributor Alliance), Matt Yerger (iDatalink), plus special guests Dean Beyett & Fernando Lopez (5 Star).

Early Saturday morning after a catered breakfast buffet, attendees experienced a full-product presentation by JVC Product Specialists Josh Bowen and Marcus Vasconcellos, followed up by iDatalink’s Yerger focussing on JVC’s exclusive iDatalink Maestro features along with what’s new and coming soon. During the afternoon, attendees encountered the full JVC culture with interactive product demonstrations, motorsport amplifier selling techniques by the 5 Star duo, a behind-the-scenes look at upcoming products, and a round table discussion with JVC product development personnel.

But the fun didn’t stop there. After dinner, the surprise entertainment was about to begin. Attendees walked through the doors in suspense to upbeat music, only to witness several chairs set up in front of the stage. A few minutes later, “The Incredible Hypnotist” Richard Barker appeared and the audience went wild. The next hour was described by guests as one of the most hilarious and memorable experiences of a lifetime.

Upon conclusion of the evening entertainment, guests were invited to Bowen’s Tacoma to experience the power of the DSP in JVC’s KW-Z1000W’s 10.1” floating panel receiver. Sometimes, dealers may neglect to properly tune an installed audio system, thinking the investment in a Real-Time Analyzer (RTA) and other equipment is cost-prohibitive. This theory was disproved through JVC and 5 Star’s simple and cost-effective demonstrable solution. Guests were also seated in the truck to experience the receiver’s impressive time alignment, parametric EQ, and staging capabilities. “This was a great way to demonstrate the power of the DSP technology inside of the receiver,” stated Jason McArty, Account Manager at DOW Technologies. “It has empowered me to better understand audio tuning and given me the confidence to better explain this to my dealers.”

On Sunday, Warren shared how JVC is committed to “aligning with its innovators” to provide greater “stability and growth” to its members. Steve Cote (JVC Eastern Regional Sales Manager), then shared his “Hot Shot” selling techniques, followed up by Trout driving home the entire 3-day experience with conviction.

“The journey embarked upon was unprecedented,” stated Ron Trout, JVC Director of Sales. “The combined level of knowledge and expertise by our hosts in conjunction with the commitment and aptitude of our salesperson attendees was truly remarkable.”   Guests were polled and provided overwhelmingly positive feedback, proclaiming it “A GRAND SLAM,” along with the inevitable question, “when will there be a Hot Shots Part Deux?”

LONG BEACH, CALIF. -- January 8th, 2020 -- JVC Mobile Entertainment is introducing 2 new wireless enabled multimedia receivers at CES that will be shipping in March, the KW-M865BW (MSRP $649.95) and the KW-V960BW (MSRP $749.95). These attractive models are designed with sleek looks, offering an easy user customization experience, top-end K2 and other sound technologies, and further enhanced vehicle integration support.

With both models featuring a 6.8-inch Clear Restive touch panel, users can clearly see and control the receiver’s unique customizable widget screens on the display, allowing functions such as radar detection information to be displayed when a compatible ESCORT® or K40® radar detector is installed in conjunction with an iDatalink® Maestro® RR, all of which are available optionally and sold separately. Additional vehicle integration display and control options available on compatible vehicles when an iDatalink Maestro RR is connected include: Tire Pressure Monitoring System info- including tire pressure and temperature, OEM climate display and control, OEM camera control, steering wheel control retention, vehicle gauges, dynamic parking guidelines, and many more.

Their intuitively designed dynamic graphic user interface features Live Wallpaper, which synchronizes the background color and visuals with music, creating a visual experience that compliments the audio. They both also incorporate JVC’s unique Advanced Gesture Touch Control, which enhances safety by helping users to keep their eyes on the road while using intuitive hand movements to control select popular functions, such as volume and track changes without ever needing to touch the receiver.

To further optimize performance and integration, both models now include hardware support for up to four cameras. Users are able to add various configurations of reverse, front, and blind spot cameras. When connected to the iDatalink Maestro RR, supported vehicles with blind spot cameras can automatically have the corresponding camera displayed upon activation of the vehicle’s turn signal. Additional performance enhancements include the ability to now mirror the display of an Android® or an iOS® device, using the JVC Mirroring application and a hardwired USB connection. Although wireless Android screen mirroring became a reality on select 2019 models, it was not available for iOS users. When connecting a smartphone to the receiver’s USB input, users can see exactly what the phone displays on the receiver itself, along with the display of many (not all) third party apps, keeping in mind that the vehicle must be parked with the parking brake engaged to use this feature.

To complement the already impressive wireless or wired Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ Connectivity, both models now also provide wireless playback of Hi-Res Audio when connected via Bluetooth to a compatible smartphone. To date, compatible smartphones include select Android models, which have menu selection options for bit rate transfer of up to 990 kpbs, that is more than three times the bit rate of typical Bluetooth audio. To achieve this, JVC utilizes LDAC™, an audio coding technology that enables Hi-Res Audio content over a Bluetooth connection. This helps to complement its support for Hi-Res Audio file playback of FLAC/WAV files via the USB input.

To gain a better in-car entertainment experience, both models also come SiriusXM-Ready® (SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner and subscription sold separately) providing access to over 150 channels of the widest variety of ad-free music, plus entertainment, news, comedy and sports you won’t hear anywhere else.

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – April 4, 2016 (MEDIAWIRE) – JVC Mobile Entertainment introduced more than 20 new products during CES in January, including two new outdoor-specific in-dash receivers. With the newest marine speakers shipping this month, the producer of value-minded, high-performance audio products gives retailers a solid upgrade package for owners of boats and off-road vehicles.

The CS-DR6200M / CS-DR6201MW speakers (MSRP $119.95) comprise an oversized two-way coaxial framework with a one-inch balanced dome tweeter atop the 6.5-inch waterproof polypropylene cone woofer. The rubber surround complements a power handling capacity of 50 watts RMS / 150 watts peak. UV-resistant grilles feature an aggressive design in black or white, secured by stainless steel hardware to deter rust.

The speakers pair well with JVC’s two element-defying receivers, the KD-R97MBS and KD-X33MBS. The KD-X33MBS (MSRP $129.95) is designed for over-the-air sources and connected smartphones, while the KD-R97MBS (MSRP $149.95) adds CD playback and variable illumination. Both DIN-sized receivers are ready for smartphone connectivity with playback and control of a USB-connected iPhone (via the receiver or Siri® Eyes Free) or Android™-powered phone while providing 1.5-amp charging.

Built-in control for Pandora® and iHeartRadio® amplify a user’s unique music selections through the audio system. Bluetooth connectivity enables hands-free calls and wireless audio playback, and both receivers can connect to two phones simultaneously, enabling driver and passenger to select the phone to make and answer calls from the receiver menu. The duo is also SiriusXM-Ready™ and connect to the latest SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner (sold separately, subscription required).

Both receivers can power the speakers with 50 watts per channel or connect to amplifiers with three sets of 4-volt outputs. Built-in K2 technology expands the bit rate and frequency range to restore frequencies from compressed music, and a 13-band equalizer lets the listener tailor music to his or her personal tastes.

“Consumers want to take their music wherever they go, and these days, that includes off-road or on the water,” said Hazim Jainoor, brand marketing manager. “We’ve put together what we think is the perfect system—in terms of quality, versatility and price point—to enable outdoor enthusiasts to experience multiple entertainment choices and share them with friends.”
