DD is no stranger to the SPL World and has been a fixture on the competition scene since the early ‘90s. When Kevin Doyle, DD Audio Sales Manager, was asked why they continue to sponsor car audio competition events while other bigger companies have moved away for the scene he said, “DD Audio believes in supporting the competitors that push the sport of performance car audio to the extreme by supporting the sanctioning bodies that offer outlets for these driven individuals to compete in. DD feels that without the people who continuously push manufactures equipment to perform at higher and higher levels we wouldn't have had the same amount of drive to continuously innovate and stay one step ahead of our rivals. So, for that reason, DD Audio says thank you and good luck to all this years competitors.”

Oklahoma City, OK, February 3, 2017 -- DD Audio will be giving its Power Tuned and HiDef Tuned U.S. built subwoofers some upgrades for 2017.

The first thing customers will notice is that all subwoofers built in DD’s Oklahoma City facility will now come stock with composite dust caps, which beforehand was only available for an additional cost. This feature provides both performance and aesthetic advantages over paper dust caps.

According to the company, DD Audio has been a pioneer in the use of composite materials, such as carbon fiber and Kevlar, in cone and dust cap manufacturing since the early 90’s, and now that all of its composite manufacturing is efficiently done in-house, DD is able to include this as a standard feature. Beyond the featured stock composite dust cap, customers will still have the option to select from several other custom dust cap colors and materials for a small up-charge.

Due to popular demand, the 2500 and 2000 Series Subwoofers will now come stock with cast aluminum baskets. In the same vein of the composite dust caps, cast frames add both performance and aesthetic advantages over stamped steel frames.

End users will also enjoy a newly extended two year manufacturer’s defect warranty period on the Power Tuned and HiDef Tuned Subwoofers.  To round out the list of upgrades, the official release of the 12” and 15” ESP Subwoofers, and a revision to the direct connect speaker leads are expected in the first quarter of 2017.

Monday, March 4, 2024 - Oklahoma City, OK - DD AUDIO®, a manufacturer of high-quality mobile audio products is proud to introduce the newly upgraded line-up of USA Made Beast subwoofers: the 9900C Series. One look at the 9900 and you know why it’s called The Beast. With 3 inches of magnet cross section over a 10 inch outer diameter and a weight of 70 pounds for the motor alone, this abomination of rage lobs clean forceful strikes of relentless fury, pummeling the air with unadulterated ruckus and attitude. Carefully wielded by a rare breed of indomitable bassheads, this ornery giant has been earning its bones from the lanes to streets for over a decade. Now, with all the features that DD-vo-tees have come to love in the new 2508G, 9500L and Z Series, this already belligerent beast is ready to be unleashed for pure audio carnage.

The 9900C combines performance redefining technologies, such as the aluminum Dual Stage rear mounted Heatsink, USA Made Iron Cloth Spider System, 2nd generation V-ROM surround, and more with the immense power of DD’s largest ferrite motor subwoofer series, optimized for a 2000 – 3200 watt power band, and the ability to handle power bursts well over 10,000 watts.

When supercharged, the 9900 motor throws nearly 9000 gauss through a 30mm deep gap, where the 8 layer coil is driven to 40mm of one way travel, with 15mm of coil still driven in the magnet gap resulting in exceptional coil control and excursion driven through the stiffest and lightest moving parts. The Free Flow Cooling System and multi-point heatsinks offer unbeatable heat dissipation to protect the high-temp insulated voice coil. The non-pressed carbon fiber loaded pulp cones are made to be incredibly light and strong, with the audibly distinguishable quality of being handmade in the USA.

Custom 9900C Series subwoofers can be ordered through your local dealer or if you don’t have one, directly by contacting DD AUDIO. Among the custom options are DD’s in-house fabricated composite sandwich cones and dust caps. These feature ultralight CnC machined foam-cores sandwiched between layers of Kevlar, carbon fiber, and S-glass for even greater durability in applications where that’s needed. They can be made in a variety of colors to match any aesthetic. All cones and dust caps are fabricated at DD AUDIO’s headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK and are assembled by hand with aerospace grade epoxy.

Oklahoma City, OK, January 28th, 2019 -- DD Audio is proud to announce the immediate release of The Z4 Subwoofer. The new Z4 is an 18 lens grade 52 neodymium open motor design. By increasing the surface area of the voice coil, size of the magnetic gap, and its heat dissipating abilities, the Z4 is able to be driven just as hard as the Z3, but with increased long-term high power handling. The USA steel motor parts are machined in DD Audio’s hometown of OKC, and all the moving parts are USA made from the finest materials and manufacturing methods available. The Z series is DD Audio’s highest performing subwoofer line, designed specifically for precision, with competition in mind. Using the strongest motor on the planet, the Z series has won every major Sound Quality and Sound Pressure Level contest, in every variant, all over the world. The Z4 is for pros who know how to take advantage of the higher energy and improved handling. Everything but the frame has been upgraded to further eliminate loss of energy, better manage magnetic field distortion, and improve stress handling.

Like the Z3 and the MiniZ in the current lineup of Z subwoofers, the Z4 has been designed with distinguishing characteristics. Due to its open motor structure, the Z series experiences an increased benefit from cooling channels machined into the pole piece, resulting in a higher volume of airflow redirected to the voice coil. The pillars surrounding the pole have been extended to allow for increased excursion and longer coil windings. The magnetic configuration changed slightly to make use of the very high iron content steel to increase the flux energy that crosses the gap. The new Z4 is the most powerful Z that DD Audio have ever made.
