Waylens Launches New OBD-II Power Cord to Simplify Installation For DYI Market

The 360-degree automotive security camera that inspired early adopters and won SEMA’s Best New Mobile Electronics Award is now available with Easy Install OBD-II power cord.

Cambridge, MA (April 30, 2019) – Waylens, Inc. announced today that it’s launching a new version of its Secure360 that includes an OBD-II power cord, allowing for easy installation and eliminating the need to connect power to the vehicle’s fuse box. “Best Buy, along with some of our other retail partners, have asked us for alternative ways to power the Secure360 camera line to maximize sales for the DYI consumer. The OBD-II connection allows anyone to install it in just a few minutes," said Tim Coomer, Waylens’ President.

Secure360 is a total car security solution that blends multiple sensing technologies to see trouble, anticipate risks, and capture events when the driver is in the car or away from it for an extended time. “We’ve always believed automotive security is just as important as home security,” said Waylens CEO Haowei Zhang. “The Secure360 is the only automotive security camera that provides true 360-degree protection in both driving and parked situations. Our new Easy Install version eliminates the need for professional installation, making set-up simple enough for anyone to do.”

The Secure360 4G with Easy Install OBD-II power cord will be available at Best Buy and on the Waylens website beginning mid-to-late May. All other accounts will have access to this new model in June.

Breakthrough Features:

  • 360-degree lens captures every angle
  • The patent-pending 360-degree lens of the Secure360 simultaneously captures all 360-degrees of activity inside and outside the car. Whether a fender bender in a parking lot or a collision during a commute, the Secure360's interior and exterior views eliminate confusion about what happened.
  • Industry’s longest park mode keeps the car protected even when the driver’s away.
  • The Secure360’s low-power sensors actively monitor an unattended vehicle for an unprecedented 360 hours or 15 days.
  • 4G connection keeps driver informed in real-time
  • The Secure360 4G camera and simple-to-use app work seamlessly together to provide a complete security experience. Automatic uploading of event data to the cloud keeps event evidence secure even if the camera is stolen or disabled. High-speed 4G bandwidth delivers real-time live alerts and live streaming.

“We developed Secure360 because all car owners need protection from financial loss and unfair litigation,” explained Waylens’ President Tim Coomer. “Now all car owners can install the ultimate automotive security camera themselves.”

Pricing and Availability:

The Secure360 4G retails for $399.95 plus a $9.95 per month for 1GB of data usage with a rolling 7 days of free cloud storage.
