Industry Veteran Responsible for Sales Growth and Creating New Initiatives

METAIRE, LA, July 10, 2019 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), the market leader in creating high quality lighting products and innovative LED solutions for the automotive/12Volt, powersports, motorcycle and marine markets, is proud to announce that industry veteran Robert “Bob” Smith has joined the company as National Sales Director.

“We are excited to welcome Bob to our dedicated Oracle team, and his leadership of our sales team brings a new perspective to our business,” said Tiffanie Hartenstein, CEO of Oracle Lighting. “We have set ambitious goals for the company this year and for years to come. Coupling his expertise with our focus on innovation, we are certain this partnership will result in higher quality relationships with current and future customers.”

With years of OEM and aftermarket experience, including VisionX, Saleen, Unique Performance Concepts, and Detroit Street Rods, Smith plans to maximize new and existing opportunities for conscious growth and a modernized customer experience.

“I joined Oracle Lighting because I see an opportunity for substantial growth,” Smith said. “The company has already proven to be successful through twenty years of prosperity, and my goal is to provide initial guidance in the area of distribution. The customer experience from purchases made through these channels has changed the expectations regarding service and accessibility, and we need to respond in order to stay current.”

The Metairie, LA-Based Company Has Been a Market Leader in Creating High Quality Lighting Products for the Automotive, Powersports, Motorcycle, and Marine Markets Since 1999

METAIRE, LA, June 24, 2019 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com) is proud to announce it is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a market leader in creating high quality lighting products and innovative LED solutions for the automotive/12Volt, powersports, motorcycle, and marine markets.

“I’m born and raised right here in New Orleans, and I started Oracle Lighting more as a hobby at first rather than thinking it would lead to what it has become 20 years later,” said Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting founder and director of product development. “I’m a car guy at heart with an engineering background. With that knowledge and drive I started tweaking and working with different lighting components in my garage back in the late 90s…stuff that was not available at the time, and eventually it began to turn into a business. And here we are two decades later, employing more than 30 people with a line of more than 11,000 products.”

Located just outside the Crescent City, Metairie, Louisiana-based Oracle Lighting has been designing innovative lighting products and technologies for the automotive/12Volt, powersports, motorcycle, and marine markets since 1999.

Hartenstein said in the early days, he was a one man show who wore multiple hats because he felt he owed it to himself and the young company he created that he had poured so much of his own time and effort into developing.

“Honestly, with an entrepreneurial owner’s mentality, I didn’t think anyone would be able to take care of these responsibilities with as much dedication as I would,” he explained. “But, as the company began to grow, I was overextending myself to the point where output was not where it needed to be and that growth was becoming stunted. With the help of my wife Tiffanie Hartenstein we developed a plan to put systems and personnel in place which allowed us to be successful. Today, Oracle Lighting has a proficient staff taking care of every aspect of the business so I can focus on new products and continued overall growth.”

The original organic growth strategy has worked. Oracle Lighting has received accolades from numerous organizations for its business practices, including being listed on the Inc500 list of the Fastest Growing Businesses in the USA for the past eight years consecutively, winning the 2012 Bronze Stevie Award for Consumer Products Company of the Year, and most recently being named The Small Business Administration's Exporter of the Year and a Small Business Champion by the U.S. Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. Oracle has won numerous local awards, as well.

“It may be cliché, but we are excited to see where the next 20 years takes us,” Hartenstein concluded. “We see that the market is growing. As we continue to grow with it, we are diversifying our products into new and emerging categories so we can face these new and exciting challenges head on.”

Anthony Hostetler, Oracle Lighting Industrial Designer, Was Evacuated During the Recent Major Storm and Took the Opportunity to Talk with H.S. Students in his Indiana Home Town About the Automotive Design Industry

METAIRIE, LA, Sept. 20, 2021 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), the market leader in high quality and innovative LED solutions for the automotive/12-volt, power sports, marine, and motorcycle markets, continues its youth engagement outreach despite Hurricane Ida evacuations.

Anthony Hostetler, an Oracle Lighting industrial designer, was one of many who were evacuated from Louisiana during the recent hurricane. Hostetler took the opportunity to visit his hometown high school of Westview Jr-Sr High School in Topeka, Ind. to speak with an Advanced Drawing class about the automotive design industry.

“Many students have a limited idea of the options they have when entering a creative field, and I welcomed the chance to show them a different avenue of thinking and a unique way to use their artistic talents," explained Hostetler. “These students were receptive to learning more about how automotive design blends creativity and technical skill.”

Hostetler’s presentation included a day-to-day look at his position with Oracle Lighting and his journey to finding the industry. He also demonstrated standard design processes and technology, including the company's new 3D scanning system. Before concluding with a question-and-answer session, Hostetler showed students some of the latest projects from Oracle Lighting including custom Deluge D12 hypercar exterior lighting and flush-mount tail lights for the Jeep Gladiator.

“Early exposure to this field is important for those considering a future career in our quickly adapting industry, and these opportunities for youth outreach allow us to foster curiosity in new generations," continued Hostetler. “Investing time into these students is the first step to helping them to cultivate a mindset of ingenuity and develop their skill set that could later benefit the automotive design industry.”

In August 2021, Hostetler also hosted two local high school students at Oracle Lighting's Louisiana headquarters for a similar exploratory workshop. These students also had the chance to job-shadow the industrial designer at work.

“We welcome the opportunity to expand our youth engagement programs, and this chance during hurricane evacuations was an unexpected benefit,” noted Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting founder and director of product development. “At Oracle Lighting, we recognize the importance of supporting future innovators and sparking their interest in the automotive market. Planting that seed in young minds is the key to continuing to push our industry forward into the future.”

Oracle Lighting was recently ranked as the third fastest growing company in the entire metro New Orleans area according to New Orleans CityBusiness magazine.

Oracle Lighting has safely re-opened post-hurricane and has resumed normal operations.

Award-Winning Design Includes Stunning Wrap-Around LED Daytime Running Lights and Individually Adjustable Beams

METAIRE, LA, USA, Sept. 25, 2019 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), an innovator in automotive LED lighting solutions, is proud to announce the release of the new Oracle Vector ProSeries grill for the Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT Models.

Oracle's patented, award-winning Vector grille design includes integrated LED headlights and high-beams, innovative sequentially firing enhanced Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and quad driving lights. Game-changing in its engineering, the Oracle Vector ProSeries Jeep Wrangler JL offers enthusiasts an innovative new look while also adding functionality by providing drivers with increased visibility on the road. Applications are also available for the 2007-2018 Wrangler JK models.

“Oracle Lighting couldn’t be more pleased with the official launch of the new Oracle Vector ProSeries Grille,” comments Robert Smith, Oracle Lighting National Sales Director. “The Vector design is a forward-thinking twist to the look of the JL while delivering more features, safety, and visibility for drivers, especially for lifted rigs. The Vector represents our company’s strong commitment to delivering American-engineered lighting solutions that help consumers increase the performance of their lights without creating dangerous glare.”

The new ProSeries model includes upgraded LEDs for a smoother start-up sequence, 300 percent increased contact seal-patch with redundant waterproofing surfaces, a 2x thicker lens and several other improvements and redundancies to ensure the durability and longevity that Jeep enthusiasts demand.

The Oracle Vector ProSeries Jeep Wrangler JL is shipped fully-assembled for easy installation. The assembly’s grille shell is manufactured from automotive-grade polycarbonate that is 30 percent thicker than stock OE material. The grille ships in paint-ready black satin; for DIY paint-prep, the Oracle website includes a light-removal how-to video. Alternately, Oracle can also custom-paint the Vector Jeep’s ProSeries Grill in any factory color on a special-order basis.

In addition to significantly improved illumination over the existing OE lighting system, the Oracle Vector ProSeries Jeep Wrangler JL offers independently adjustable beams. Oracle pre-installs the lights in neutral positions based on the stock Wrangler stance, and adjusters are included for both projection distance and wide cornering visibility. Oracle accomplishes this by separating the low-beams into two individual units – Driving Beam (narrow / long-distance beam) and Low Beam (wide / short-distance beam). This is particularly beneficial on lifted Jeeps: light beams can be easily and accurately aimed to avoid blinding oncoming drivers while also creating vastly improved visibility based on the driver’s seating position.

The Oracle Vector ProSeries Jeep Wrangler JL emits 4,000 lumens from a total 24 Luxeon ZES LEDs, which are high-end LED chips manufactured by Philips. While the light output is very impressive, the Oracle Vector ProSeries Jeep Wrangler JL's signature feature is its enhanced dynamic Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Arranged in an eye-catching wrap-around pattern, the DRLs flow sequentially on DRL start-up and provide standout illumination during driving. Oracle Lighting Technologies Worked with Supercar Manufacturer to Develop the Lighting System for the Most Thorough & Comprehensive Revision of the Road Legal Ultima Supercar Ever to be Released

METAIRE, LA, USA, Aug. 12, 2019 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), an innovator in automotive LED lighting solutions, is proud to announce that it has partnered with United Kingdom-based Ultima Sports Ltd. to develop the lighting system designs for the new Ultima RS Supercar.

“The new Ultima RS is one of the most exciting cars recently released,” said Justin Hartenstein, Director of Product Development at Oracle Lighting and ORACLE Lighting Technologies. “We worked with Ultima to present a modern look to the still classic design for the new RS version of the classic Ultima Supercar. The result is an absolutely incredible vehicle with performance and aesthetics second-to-none. We are very proud to have been a part of this redesign.”

This is not Oracle’s first project with Ultima Sports Ltd., as Oracle Lighting’s own customized Ultima GTR was built and displayed at the SEMA Show in 2014, which garnered a tremendous amount of attention during the event.

ORACLE Lighting was tasked with developing a LED lighting system for both the headlights and tail lights which evoke the technological leap that the Ultima RS represents. “We developed a signature headlight and tail light accent which gave this very sleek car a personality if its own,” Hartenstein added. “The headlights are the eyes of the car. When you look at a car it is important that the headlights are not only functional but intriguing, and that is an important part of the consumer’s first impression of the new vehicle design.”

Richard Marlow, Director, Ultima Sports Ltd. said, “Ultima Sports Ltd. has pushed the Ultima legacy to its highest point ever with the launch of the new Ultima RS. We worked very closely with Oracle Lighting on the initial prototype design and development of our new Ultima RS bespoke lighting solution. We are delighted with the performance and visual appeal of the production pieces which have been praised by enthusiasts around the world since public release.”

The Ultima RS is the most thorough and comprehensive revision of the road legal Ultima supercar ever to be released. The commandingly aggressive stance with its muscular and timeless Group C Le Mans inspired lines to the extensive use of carbon fibre, the new Ultima RS was designed with one purpose in mind: performance. From the stunningly crafted roof scoop, carbon-fibre side splitters and sculpted front splitter which both feature intelligently integrated vortex generators, to the new swan neck top mounted full width carbon fibre rear wing option – each is meticulously crafted to reduce weight. Their shapes are every bit as functional as they are stunning and each has been honed to perfection as a result of extensive testing in MIRA’s full size wind tunnel.

“The Ultima RS is great example of our OEM lighting development capabilities,” Hartenstein continued. “ORACLE Lighting works with OE vehicle manufacturers and designers around the world developing lighting systems for numerous types of LED lighting applications.”

Patent-Pending, Antimicrobial Irradiation Respirator (aka A.I.R. Device) is a Wearable UVGI Face Mask That is Designed to be Worn Under Common Face Masks; it Neutralizes Live Viruses Such as COVID-19, Pathogens, Bacterium, or Other Microorganisms Attached to the Fabric Surfaces

METAIRE, LA, May 14, 2020 – Oracle Lighting, an innovator in LED lighting solutions, has revealed details on the new Antimicrobial Irradiation Respirator (aka AIR device), a patent-pending wearable UVGI face mask sanitizer system. The AIR device is expected to be available in late June 2020.

“N95 masks have been the go-to PPE for preventing exposure to COVID-19, but these only filter 95 percent of particulate,” explained Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of product development. “Consumers need better assurance to be confident that they will not be exposed. The AIR device will neutralize that remaining five percent while sanitizing the contaminated mask at the same time. Studies have shown that respiratory pathogens on the outer surface of cloth masks can actually result in self-contamination, which is exactly what they are intended to prevent. Because if this, we see the unique UV irritation benefits of the AIR device as the best sanitization scenario for mitigating exposure to COVID-19 and other viruses.”

Existing personal air filtration masks are designed to prevent inhalation of viruses by trapping the particles from the incoming air in the cloth material worn on the face. However, they are not designed to disinfect or sanitize the particles. Because of this, the masks can become saturated with live viruses, pathogens, bacterium, or other microorganisms attached to the fabric surfaces. Because the cloth mask becomes contaminated with use, washing a cloth mask is recommended by health officials. Unfortunately, most consumer-grade laundry detergent does not contain disinfectant and, in fact, studies show that pathogens can actually be spread in the wash and contaminate other laundry in the load.

The AIR device is worn under any common face masks and utilizes a patent-pending system to sanitize the air while simultaneously neutralizing contaminants trapped in the cloth face mask by means of short-wave ultraviolet light exposure. The ultraviolet light source is produced via UV LEDs which are integrated into the device. The spectrum of ultraviolet light is separated into various ranges, with shortest-wavelength referred to as UV-C which is considered “germicidal UV”.

“The AIR device is composed of a small cover made of an anti-microbial polymer which is worn on the face and attached with straps similar to a traditional face mask,” Hartenstein continued. “The user wears a traditional face mask (cloth mask, surgical mask, N95, etc.) over the device. A small rechargeable battery pack powers the device and can be manually turned on and off by the user. In addition to the anti-germicidal LEDs, the device also contains UV-A LEDs which provide a wider light spectrum and visible light. The visible UV-A LED functions as an indicator that the device is on and working but provides minimal anti-microbial benefits.”

Wavelengths between 200-300 nanometers, such as the LEDs utilized in the AIR device, provide the most effective germicidal function. This is because the wavelength of UV-C irradiation utilizes photons to inactivate the virus which prevents the cell from replicating and infecting the body if inhaled. The AIR’s UV-C LED emitters are integrated into the airflow partition of the device which is designed to scrub the air and sterilize the cloth mask simultaneously.

Is it safe?

For years hospitals and labs have used Ultra-Violet light for disinfection and medical sanitation against viruses. Commonly known as “Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation”, UVGI is a disinfection method that uses short-wavelength ultraviolet light to kill or inactivate microorganisms by disrupting their DNA in a manner which renders the cells inactive and unable to perform cellular functions.

“UV-C light has been used in many applications such as the purification of drinking water for decades,” said Hartenstein. “While UV-C is part of the normal spectrum of sunlight, it is invisible and can cause sunburn with direct skin exposure. This was taken into account when developing the AIR and so the UV light is directed into the mask, away from the user, to prevent any direct skin exposure.”

1,000 N95 Respirator Masks and 480 Surgical Masks are the First Such Donations by Oracle Lighting; the Company Plans More Such Donations as They Import More PPE Supplies to Help Those on the Front Lines Battling the COVID-19 Pandemic

METAIRE, LA, April 13, 2020 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), an innovator in LED lighting solutions, has made a donation of 1,000 N95 respirator masks and nearly 500 surgical masks to the Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans to help its staff battle the COVID-19 crisis in Louisiana where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is much needed.

“We want to do whatever we can to support those medical professionals on the front lines battling this pandemic as New Orleans has been one of the most affected communities in the country,” said Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of development. “Oracle Lighting works with several companies outside of the United States and these partners have more available PPE sources than we have here in the U.S. Some of them heard about the struggles that we were having across our country and, specifically, in the New Orleans area with the shortage of masks and other PPE.”

Hartenstein explained that many of these suppliers are now helping out by including procured PPE in Oracle Lighting’s inbound shipments so that Hartenstein and his staff can donate to places in need.

“We are now asking all of our suppliers do the same and we have more supplies on the way,” he added. “This is just the first donation that we plan to make. We will continue to import PPE from other countries with available supplies and donate to medical personnel that are struggling to help people with this virus and need adequate PPE made available to them as soon as possible.”

Hartenstein said that after procuring the PPE supplies, Oracle was able to donate the much needed masks to Tulane Medical Center through Supplies for Saints, a group that is managing the collection of PPE for local hospitals.

“Co-founding Supplies for Saints was such a crucial endeavor for us because we realized how important it was to keep our frontlines healthy so they could continue to care and heal those stricken with COVID-19,” said Kelly Becnel Rovetto, co-founder of Supplies for Saints. “These men and women deserve to feel safe that they are not bringing home this virus to their families or contracting it themselves. PPE donations like this make a big difference in the lives of these men and women.”

Hartenstein asked that other companies importing products consider procuring available PPE from their suppliers and donate to those who are in desperate need for adequate protective equipment.

Dean “Karnage” Kearney, the Viper’s Driver, Will Also be In the Oracle Lighting Booth Signing Limited Edition Posters Throughout the Show

METAIRE, LA, Sept. 30, 2019 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), the market leader in creating high quality lighting products and innovative LED solutions for the automotive aftermarket, is proud to announce that it will host the Formula Drift competition Dodge Viper in its booth (C21505) during the 2019 SEMA Show, held in Las Vegas, Nev. from Nov. 5-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Viper’s driver, Dean “Karnage” Kearney, will also be in the Oracle Lighting booth signing limited edition posters throughout the show.

“The Oracle Lighting Dodge Viper produces an estimated 1,400hp through its Twin-Turbo V10 engine, making it the most powerful drift car in the world!,” said Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of development. “This vehicle is also famously featured in several video games including the popular Forza Horizon 4.”

The Viper features a pair of Garrett 4088 turbochargers feeding the V10 engine, which pushes out more than 900hp at just 3,000 RPM, and an equally impressive amount of torque. Overall, the package is good for more than 1,400hp but the final output is undetermined because most dynos will shut down well below that threshold.

The Cargo Light Uses the Vehicle's Existing 12V Power Source and Simply Replaces the Factory Wiper Motor Cover with Dual 5000K White LED Cargo Light

METAIRIE, LA, Oct. 6, 2022 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), the market leader in creating high quality lighting products and innovative LED solutions for the automotive aftermarket, is proud to announce it will feature its new LED Cargo Light Module (p/n 5887-001; MSRP: $149.95) for 2021+ Ford Broncos during the 2022 SEMA Show, held in Las Vegas, Nev. from Nov. 1-4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, booth # 20137. The new LED Cargo Light Module is now shipping.

“The Ford Bronco is a great vehicle, but one area for improvement is the factory LED interior lighting in the cargo area,” said Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of development. “We have been very impressed with the new Bronco but were totally unimpressed with the LED lighting for the cargo area. The existing lighting doesn't provide enough usable illumination for storage space. The Bronco is made for adventuring, but this lack of lighting makes accessing cargo at night difficult while on the trail, camping, or tailgating. Because of this, we have developed an integrated cargo light module to easily add a bright LED light to the rear hatch cargo space and, at the same time, lights up the area around the vehicle.”

Oracle Lighting’s Ford Bronco cargo light is designed for hardtop models and uses the vehicle's existing 12V power source. The design simply replaces the factory wiper motor cover with the new LED module. Installation is simple. Just swap in the new cover using the included parts and plug the adapter into your rear accessory socket. The lights can easily be turned on and off with the flush switch located on the panel.

Additional features and benefits include:

  • Installs in factory location
  • Replaces factory wiper motor cover
  • Mounts using factory hardware
  • Illuminated flush On/Off switch
  • Dual 5000K white LED cargo light
  • Illuminates cargo space and exterior

A Stylish and Functional Upgrade for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Models, this Tactical-Inspired Body Cladding is Equipped with Multi-Function Integrated LED Lights that Provide Benefits to Both Driver and Passengers

METAIRE, LA, Nov. 2, 2020 – Oracle Lighting (www.oraclelights.com), the market leader in creating high quality lighting products and innovative LED solutions for the automotive aftermarket, will feature its new Sidetrack™ LED Lighting System for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK (p/n 5873-504) during the SEMA360 online event Nov. 2-6, 2020. With an MSRP of $199.95, Oracle Lighting is currently taking pre-orders with plans to ship Dec. 12, 2020.

“ORACLE Lighting’s new Sidetrack™ LED Lighting System is a stylish and functional upgrade for Jeep Wrangler JK models,” said Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting director of development. “This tactical-inspired body cladding is equipped with multi-function integrated LED lights that provide benefits to both driver and passengers.”

The light modules consist of a pair of injection-molded inserts that fit in the original body lines for a seamless look with an option to create a functional fender vent. Matte black panels provide an aggressive look that adds a rugged and tactical appearance to the Jeep. Installation requires no modification to the fender sheet metal…the cladding simply applies with included VHB adhesive.

The LED “Entry Light” features high-output white LEDs which is a side-light intended to illuminate the area outside of the vehicle for the driver and passengers approaching the vehicle at night. This convenient feature allows the driver and passengers to identify puddles, potholes, and other hazards when entering and exiting the vehicle. The entry lights are connected to the vehicle’s dome light circuit so the entry lights will activate when the vehicle is unlocked, when the doors open, and can be manually turned on with the factory control knob.

The LED “Turn Indicator” addresses a potential safety issue with the U.S.-spec Jeep Wrangler JK models which do not have a clear indicator on the side of the vehicle. This can be inconvenient when changing lanes with a vehicle is positioned in the Jeep’s blind spot…this blind spot is increased substantially on lifted vehicles. By adding a bright amber indicator in a clearly visible position, the Sidetrack™ provides a needed visibility benefit for lifted Jeeps.
