Holly Hill, FL - October 2017 – iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems®, a brand by Metra Electronics, expands its consumer solutions at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas from October 31 - November 3. A wide range of front, rear and side view cameras, with many different backup camera options will be showcased on working displays. Front, Rear and Side View Cameras

iBeam’s massive product line expansion includes 24 new waterproof cameras for consumer applications, including backup cameras with options for active parking lines, LED night vision, or both. Additional options include surface mount, hole mount or behind the license plate cameras, with fixed angle or adjustable designs, wide viewing angles and defeatable parking assist lines. Backup cameras without night vision LEDs are also available in flush, plate or surface mount options.

Video Screens

New color LCD video displays are available in 3.5 inch, 4.3 inch, 5 inch and 7 inch models. The 7 inch screen (TE-7VS) has a dashboard mount base and includes a rear-view camera and secondary input. The 5 inch screen (TE-50VS) and 4.3 inch screen (TE-43VS) are dashboard or windshield mount displays for a rear-view camera and secondary input. The 3.5 screen (TE-35MV) has a single input for the rear-view camera, and it’s multi-view function allows the image to be rotated to match the dashboard or windshield mounting orientation.

Replacement Mirror Monitors with Integrated Color LCD Screen

 A variety of universal replacement mirror monitors offer solutions for any preference or budget, with an integrated color LCD screen. A replacement mirror monitor (TE-RM45) displays a 4.5 inch feed for up to two camera inputs and includes the most widely used windshield mounts. Optional, vehicle-specific mounts are available. This mirror monitor is also available with Bluetooth® 4.1 (TE-BTM45) to integrate for hands free calling, voice dialing and displaying the incoming phone number. This model also streams audio for navigation prompts. The replacement mirror monitor also includes an option for temperature and compass display (TE-CTM45), to show the vehicle’s direction and interior and outside temperatures integrated into the top right mirror monitor.

A cost effective clip-on mirror monitor solution (TE-CM43) clips over an existing mirror and displays a 4.3 inch feed of the rear-view camera when the vehicle is in reverse. It allows for easy, universal installation.

An OE-style auto-dimming mirror with a 4.3” built-in screen and a full 9” touchscreen live streaming mirror monitor and camera kit will be on display and available soon. iBEAM’s OE style auto-dimming mirror with a 4.3” built-in monitor (TE0AD43) reduces the glare on a bright sunny day or from headlights at night. The mirror automatically adjusts the mirror and monitor screen based on the lighting environment to allow the driver a visual that’s easier to see in any lighting condition. Sensors on the front and rear of the mirror adjust the brightness of the mirror and the monitor as they detect weak or strong light sources from headlights, oncoming traffic or sunlight. The mirror has two video inputs for a backup camera and an additional camera view, controlled with a reverse trigger. An optional setting for parking lines can be adjusted in distance and pitch from the mirror itself or the included remote. Drivers can remove obstructions to see the rear and front view of the vehicle in real-time with iBEAM’s touchscreen mirror and camera kit (TE-SM9). This large 9” color LCD touchscreen mirror features no lag with 1080p resolution at 30fps for the rear and front cameras. A built-in dual-channel DVR captures the front and rear video feeds simultaneously to prevent liability in case of an accident and has a G-sensor to prevent video from being overwritten.

This camera system includes ADAS features built into the mirror monitor touchscreen. The split screen mode shows a visual of both front and rear views, with optional lane detection watch and forward collision warnings for the driver with audible alerts. Holly Hill, FL - December 27, 2017 – iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems® by Metra Electronics® will debut a new Foot Control Automatic Trunk Opener at CES 2018. The TE-ATO is a universal, aftermarket solution that works with any vehicle equipped with a power liftgate.

Once the two sensors are installed, the trunk can be opened hands free by a simple kick action near the vehicle. This versatile trunk opener is integrated for positive trigger systems (common on GM vehicles), negative trigger systems (common on Ford and imports), or it can be connected directly to the trunk switch.

“The 2-sensor detection design allows the trunk to open with a little kick near the rear bumper,” says Jon Osborne, product director for iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems at Metra Electronics. “This added convenience will make daily tasks much easier for loading up the trunk - especially when your hands are full,” Osborne added. Universal Micro Camera

The TE-MIPI from iBEAM is a small but impressive camera with a resolution of 800 TV lines. This is a 55-degree fixed angled camera and the image can be mirrored or rotated for vertically or horizontally mounted cameras placed on side-view mirrors, front or rear bumpers, or almost any other location. Since the Jeep Wrangler spare tire presents a challenge for mounting an aftermarket backup camera, the kit includes a spare tire bracket designed with an adjustable neck that positions the camera between the tire spokes. Also included in the kit is iBeam’s Flush Mount Backup Camera with metal housing, featuring a ¼-inch CMOS lens, 110 degree viewing angle and 0.6 lux night vision. Holly Hill, FL - April 2018 – iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems by Metra Electronics® has released a new DVR kit that simultaneously captures video in both the front and rear of the vehicle, with infrared assisted night vision on the front camera. The TE-IFD kit will improve driver visibility, both day and night, supporting 1080p HD recording in the front and 720p recording for the rear camera. For front night vision recording, 720p is supported.

iBeam’s latest DVR kit connects to the vehicle display from the DVR’s video RCA output. Drivers can select to view the front day, front night, or rear-view camera feed. This kit also connects to a smartphone, where users who are connected to Wi-Fi can view a live recording of the vehicle’s surroundings via the free mobile app, available for Apple and Android devices. The mobile app also allows the user to adjust settings or view videos and pictures recorded from the DVR.

For security purposes, a motion sensor can be activated to monitor activity while the vehicle is parked and left unattended*. A built-in g-force sensor detects collisions and locks the captured video content to prevent it from being overwritten. This is especially useful in the event of an accident, where video recordings can be used as potentially vital evidence.

Holly Hill, FL - May 2018 – iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems by Metra Electronics® is now shipping the TE-DVR-MM, a new replacement rear-view mirror with an integrated 4.5” color LCD screen and built-in DVR. This mirror features a high-definition camera and monitor with 1080p resolution and DVR that supports up to 64GB of storage via a microSD card. The display has two video inputs, the rear-view camera and a second camera feed, for extra visibility without the use of an additional monitor on the dash. The color screen is virtually undetectable when switched off, revealing a factory-quality mirror. When triggered, the color display shows the backup camera feed and automatically adjusts the brightness for optimal viewing during day or night.

The integrated DVR captures potentially vital information related to traffic collisions or other incidents, and has a g-force sensor that will detect and lock the captured video data in the event of an accident, preventing it from being overwritten. With ample storage capacity up to 64GB, the DVR will loop back to the beginning and start recording over the old content once the memory card is full.
