Fact: The more surface area, the more volume of air can be displaced for greater impact. Typical 12″ subwoofer have a surface area of 516 cm². Oncore SM woofers with T.H.R.S ™ surround systems produce a much larger cone area. The SM 12″ offers up to an 18% increase in cone area with 611 cm² and if that is not exciting enough, the SM10 offers up to 23% cone area increase over most standard designs.
Fact: The longer the excursion of the cone the lower the frequency response and the greater the impact. SM subwoofers feature Long throw double stack magnet motors with extended pole pieces and bumped back plates. They outperform conventional subwoofer designs.
