STILLWATER, USA – This weekend KICKER® returns as title sponsor of The Showdown Las Vegas mobile-audio show at Buffalo Bill’s Casino Resort in Primm, Nev. On February 24-25, The Showdown boasts of “four multi-point competition organization lanes and hundreds of the loudest and best sounding vehicles in the country!”
Featuring both sound-pressure and sound-quality categories, competitions will be held by dB Drag Racing, Bass Wars, USACi, IASCA and EMMA. More than 200 competitors and demo vehicles are expected, in addition to a crowd in excess of 1,000 spectators.
Showdown founder Steve Barber and the Vegas Style SPL Car Club co-host the show.
“We started doing this show nine years ago,” said Barber. “Over the years, more and more sponsors jumped on. Now the major manufacturers are involved, and the show has turned out to be one of the biggest SPL shows on the West Coast. People are coming from every corner of the country to compete. It’s turning into one of the largest overall soundoffs in the West.”
Barber’s Ford® Explorer will be a feature build at The Showdown, debuting as one of the world’s largest KICKER SoloX® Subwoofer installs, Barber will demo the highly customized and anticipated SUV which is loaded with nine, 15-inch SoloX subwoofers and more than 30 KICKER ST-Series square mid-woofers and bullet tweeters.
In addition to the two-day, car-audio competition, The Showdown plans a charity raffle which includes many KICKER-donated prizes including clothing, Bluetooth® speakers, and more.
