Torrance, Calif. (August 28, 2018)– Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the PSS-23WRA, a new aftermarket powered sound system upgrade for the all-new 2018 4-door Jeep Wrangler.

The PSS-23WRA is a powered sound system upgrade for 2018 and future model years 4-door Jeep Wrangler models that do not have the optional factory Alpine premium sound system. The 300-watt system consists of the PWE-S8 powered subwoofer, KTP-445U 4-channel ultra-compact power pack amplifier, SPR-10TW 2” component tweeters and a remote bass knob.

When driving with the Wrangler’s top off, it can be difficult to achieve good bass reproduction due to the noise in the exposed cabin. The PSS-23WRA addresses this by positioning the subwoofer and amplifier under the front passenger’s seat using the included Wrangler-specific bracket. This configuration loads and disperses the lower frequency sound into the passenger’s foot well, producing maximized bass extension throughout the vehicle even when the top is off. Utilizing this location does not take away from usable storage space in the vehicle.

The PWE-S8 and KTP-445U are compact designs, which makes it possible for them to be installed under the passenger’s seat. Unlike traditional subwoofers, the PWE-S8 is a shallow format that measures just 13.5” L x 9” W x 3” D. The PWE-S8 and KTP-445U are pre-assembled for bolt-on installation with simple wire routing. Installation accessories such as tweeter adapters, a wiring harness, and a T-harness for connection to the vehicle are included. The tweeters add high frequency response for clarity and definition and fit in the factory locations on top of the dash, so no custom installation is needed.

These universal lights will fit most of the newer Jeep Wrangler® models (including the 2018-up* JL with use of adapter) and other vehicle applications with a 7-inch round headlight and 4-inch round fog light. An 8 gang switch panel designed for outdoor vehicles from Heise® will also be introduced to integrate lighting control for aftermarket add-ons. RGB Backlit LED Headlight (JP-704RGB)

The new JP-704RGB replacement headlight set features backlit (15) 5-watt RGB LEDs in each light and produces 4,000 lumens for the high beam and 2,200 lumens for the low beam. The virtually unbreakable polycarbonate lens cover makes this the ideal off-road solution for trail riding Jeep owners. The HE-CBRGB controller is sold separately and required for operation of the RGB lights, which allows the user to change colors, sync to music and more from the Heise RGB app, available for Android® and iOS® devices. The control box is sealed so that it can be mounted in an engine compartment without fear of failure and features a simple two wire connection. This headlight set also works with Heise’s existing RGB accent lights, plus Infinite Series lightbars and cube style lights with RGB backlit LEDs, allowing an entire system to be synced using the HE-CBRGB controller.

RGB LED Headlight and Fog Light Kit (JP-706RGBKT)

A different style of 7-inch headlights with addressable RGB LEDs will be introduced in the JP-706RGBKT kit, which features (9) 5-watt LEDs in each headlight. The headlights produce 3,600 lumens of illumination for the high beam and 2,400 lumens for the low beam. This kit also includes a set of matching 4-inch fog lights with RGB LED lights and the RGB controller. The fog lights have (6) 5-watt LEDs each that produce 1,400 lumens of illumination. Drivers will be able to change the color of their lights with the swipe of a finger with 120 different color changing patterns that can sync to music and are controlled via the Car Light mobile app, available for Android® and iOS® devices. Both of the new RGB replacement headlights are rated IP67 and use the standard H4 connectors.

Adapter Harness for Fog Lights

The new JP-JWFLAH is a simple plug-n-play 9145 to PSX24W connector adapter harness for Jeep Wrangler 2010 and up* JK and JL models that comes in a 2-pack. This harness is designed for use with specific Heise (HE-JWBFL01, HE-JWSFL01, or HE-JWBFL02) or Metra Jeep Accessories (JP-706RGBKT) fog lights only.

H4 Connector to H13 Connector

The new JP-H4H13DE is designed for 7-inch headlights in 2007-up* Jeep Wrangler JK models. This set comes with 2 adapters and 2 CANBUS decoders to eliminate the bulb out warning light and flickering of headlights when replacing factory lights with aftermarket lights.

Replacement Speaker Pods for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-Up* and Gladiator 2020-up*

The replacement speaker pods (JP-1014) are designed to replace the original 4” speaker pods located under the driver and passenger side of the dashboard in Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-up* and Jeep Gladiator 2020-up* models to allow for 6” to 6.75” aftermarket speakers. Each pair of pods has an ABS housing that utilizes the factory mounting locations for a secure fit that will heighten the listening experience. The pods use the factory grommet and wiring and a Metra speaker adapter harness is included.

Brackets for Jeep Wrangler JL and JK

New light mounting solutions for Jeep Wrangler JL and JK models are an addition to the multitude of brackets currently offered from Metra. The JP-JFOG is a versatile fog light bracket for 2018-up* Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon, 2009-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Hard Rock, Rubicon X and the 10th Anniversary Edition models. The 7-gauge powder coated steel brackets include gaskets and mounting hardware.

These mounting solutions join Heise’s previously announced mounting solutions for Jeeps. The Jeep Wrangler JL pillar lightbar bracket (JP-JLAPB) uses anti-sway hardware specifically designed by Heise to prevent the weight of the lightbar from causing the bracket to move left and right. It is designed for a 50” straight Heise lightbar and incorporates two mounting locations for cube LED or working lights on each side. The JP-JLPMLB post mount bracket has Heise LED cube light mounting options for the side or hood of the vehicle. The introduction of these new accessories allows 2018-up* Jeep Wrangler JL owners to customize their ride with Heise LED lights.

Metra is also introducing four new brackets for the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models. The new single hood bracket (JP-JKM03) has mounting locations for four cube lights and fits JK models excluding the special edition models with raised hoods. The grille mount bracket (JP-JKGR1) is designed for a 20” straight lightbar. Mount two sets of cube lights in post locations with the dual-stacked post mount bracket (JP-JKPM2), and mount an LED whip light to the spare wheel carrier with the whip mount bracket (JP-JKWIP.)  All brackets feature powder coated 7-gauge steel and include gaskets and mounting hardware.

CAN-BUS Decoders for Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ and YJ models

Heise® has added two new CANBUS decoders, the HE-PSX24D designed to work with its existing HE-PSX24LED single-beam bulb kit for the Jeep Wrangler JL and JK models, and the HE-H3D, designed to work with the HE-H3LED single-beam bulb kit for Jeep Wrangler TJ and YJ models. The new CAN-BUS decoders have simple plug-n-play connections and are designed for vehicles with a CAN-BUS system to monitor the headlights and stops them from flashing.

Taillights for Jeep Wrangler JK and TJ Models

Two new taillights that give Jeep Wranglers a more rugged look are being introduced to complement Heise’s existing lineup. The LED LUX taillights (JP-TL03T) for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models incorporate a turn signal, brake light and running light. With a total of 42 watts, 21 LEDs and a 30-watt high-output reverse light, these taillights are a powerful upgrade. The new JP-TL04T taillights for 1998-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models have a built-in license plate light in addition to turn signal, reverse, brake and running lights. With a total of 46 watts and 23 LEDs, these taillights are sure to shine bright and maintains the overall rugged look of the TJ body style. Both sets of lights feature an OEM fit, plug into the OEM harness and have a polycarbonate lens for extra durability.
