The Optim8™ simplifies the tuning process to five minutes

Auburn Hills, Mich. (February 3, 2023) – Alps Alpine North America, Inc. (“Alpine”) announces the Alpine Optim8™ 8-Channel Hi-Res Sound Processor and Amplifier with Automatic Sound Tuning. The Optim8™ offers automatic sound-tuning controls that can tune a factory system in less than five minutes.

“We’re excited to introduce the Alpine Optim8™ believing it will eliminate the pain points that are associated with most aftermarket processors,” said Mike Anderson, Executive Director at Alps Alpine North America. “The Optim8™ makes it easier than ever for both dealers and customers to quickly and effectively tune a factory sound system.”

With a built-in internal 8-channel amplifier and High-Resolution processing (96kHz/24Bit), the Alpine Optim8™ is the all-in-one solution to amplify and sound tune a factory or aftermarket head unit. The amplifier offers 50W x 6 @ 4Ω + 150W x 2 @4Ω or 50W x 6 @2Ω + 300W x 2@ 2Ω, for a solution that’s able to power a full sound system. Digital inputs include Coax and USB (DAC) while a high-level speaker input of up to 30V allows the Optim8™ to connect to a factory amplifier. Outputs include 8-channel 4V RCA.

Automatic Sound Tuning
To address the pain points and intricacies associated with sound system tuning, the Alpine Optim8™ features automatic sound tuning through PC App or IOS App for the iPhone that guides users through quick and simple measurements of their factory or aftermarket sound system. Guided motions on the app instruct the user where to place the external microphone (KTX-CSP1 Tuning Microphone for PC, sold separately) or built-in mic on the iPhone in the front cabin of the vehicle for accurate measurements. This advanced software, partnered with Alpine’s Matrix summing capabilities, eliminates the margin of error when placing the microphone and brings the measurement time down to a mere five minutes.

TheAuto-EQ software, a technology Powered by Eilex PRISM®, analyzes the vehicle’s acoustic response and automatically corrects it in both amplitude and phase domains. The user is then able to tune the sound system to their listening preference by choosing a target curve that is applied to the system in real time.

Contrary to competitor processors that use filter devices such as Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) or Finite Impulse Response (FIR) to measure and tune sound systems, the Optim8™ uses a Variable-Resolution Impulse Response (VIR®) that features a wide bandwidth for High-Resolution audio (10Hz – 48kHz @ 96kHz), making it the ideal product for High-Resolution systems. VIR filters also use lower MIPS (millions of instructions per second) for increased speed and accuracy during tuning, giving the Optim8™ the ability to tune a system in under five minutes.

The Alpine Optim8™ PXE-C80-88 will be available in Spring 2023 for $999.95 and can be purchased at Alpine Authorized retailers and Preferred Online Stores. Please check the store locator on www.alpine-usa.comfor details.

Auburn Hills, Mich. (Jun. 27, 2023) – Alps Alpine North America, Inc. (“Alpine”) awarded the 2022 Customer Care Award to Xtreme Autosound & Marine during an Alpine Experience Event hosted at the store earlier this month. Located in Louisville, KY, Xtreme Autosound & Marine has been an Alpine Authorized Retailer since 2018 and an Alpine Style Center since the program was introduced in 2020.

“We’re thrilled to present the 2022 Customer Care Award to Xtreme Autosound,” said Mike Anderson, Executive Director of the Alpine Aftermarket Brand Division at Alps Alpine North America, Inc. “Their dedication to serving their customers and upholding the standards of the Alpine brand made them the ideal candidate for this prestigious award.”

The Alpine Customer Care Award is given to the Alpine Authorized Retailer who provides outstanding customer service on behalf of the Alpine brand. Recipients of this award have gone above and beyond to provide the perfect Alpine product solution to a customer and ensure the longevity of the product experience by registering the product for warranty and support services.

"We love selling and installing Alpine products in our store,” said Anthony Zagata, owner of Xtreme Autosound & Marine. “The customers love the pricing, quality, and the fact that we can offer them a warranty with their installed product. It truly is a ‘win-win-win’ for us, the customer, and Alpine."

Alpine presented the first Customer Care Award in 2021 during an Alpine Styler Center Dealer Council hosted at Alpine Headquarters.

Alpine Electronics is now shipping the X110-SLV and X110-SRA, the first aftermarket audio/video/navigation/Bluetooth® systems equipped with a 10-inch capacitive touch screen.

The X110-SLV and X110-SRA are new additions to the Alpine Restyle family of products, which consist of full-featured touch screen systems packaged with vehicle specific dash bezels and control keys. In addition to being the largest full featured systems in the aftermarket, both models also have system expansion capabilities that allow them to serve as the control hub for add-on products.

“Alpine is again pushing ahead with exceptional solutions that meet the needs of truck owners,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.  “The X110-SLV and X110-SRA, for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, respectively, are the only 10-inch aftermarket systems available and are high quality upgrades since equivalent aftermarket solutions do not exist for these trucks due to their non-standard dash openings.”

Designed with Details for a Factory Look
The X110-SLV and X110-SRA are Alpine engineered for 2014-up Chevrolet Silverado trucks and GMC Sierra trucks. They come with a dash bezel that entirely replaces the OEM radio area and control keys that match the shape and color of the truck. A large rotary encoder knob allows for fast volume control, while big function keys give immediate access to the most-used features like navigation and music.

The X110-SLV has crystal keys back-lit with blue lighting to match the Silverado’s gauge cluster and a blue color scheme for the on-screen graphical user interface (GUI).  The X110-SLV was named a winner of the CES 2016 Innovation Award in the In Vehicle Audio/Video category. For the X110-SRA, red lighting and a red color scheme are used to match the Sierra’s gauge cluster. Both come with vehicle specific wiring harnesses for plug and play installation.

New Hardware Platform and Operating System
Both the 2014-up Chevrolet Silverado and 2014-up GMC Sierra have shallow depth space behind the dash which cannot fit a traditional 2-DIN audio/video/navigation (AVN) chassis.

The X110-SLV and X110-SRA use a new modular platform where the processing chassis is not attached to the screen.  Instead, it’s a separate piece that replaces the OEM radio module in its existing location behind the dash, but detached from the screen.

The result is a completely bolt-in solution with no cutting or modification of the vehicle required.  All the needed wire harnesses and connectors are also included.

The X110-SLV and X110-SRA also incorporate a new GUI based on a new graphics rendering engine with swipe action control for 4-way movement -- left, right, up and down.

The user is always one swipe away from the most commonly accessed functions.  A left swipe accesses the navigation commands, a right swipe accesses audio and video commands, a swipe up accesses adjustments to the audio system or rear seat entertainment system (sold separately) and a swipe down accesses Bluetooth and source selection.  Within the audio and video page, the user can swipe across to access the entertainment sources connected to the system.

System Expansion Capabilities
Both the X110-SLV and X110-SRA can serve as control hubs for other accessories.  When either system is used with the optional KAC-001 External Accessory Control Module (sold separately), the 10-inch screen becomes a hub for touch screen control of add-on truck accessories like a motorized tonneau cover, winch, air suspension, LED lights, headlights, etc.  Eight individual outputs are available to control eight relay-connected accessories.

A graphical icon and custom text label can be assigned to each accessory for quick identification on the screen.  The individual accessories can be configured as pulsed, latched or momentary outputs.

The X110-SLV and X110-SRA are compatible with Alpine’s rear and front camera systems.  The KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Controller (sold separately) can be added to optimize the use of multiple camera systems.

This optional module allows up to three camera systems (rear, front and side) to be controlled from the 10-inch touch screen.  This provides one-touch viewing of any of the camera images on the 10-inch screen.

Retained Factory Features
The X110-SLV and X110-SRA each come with an iDatalink® Maestro® module and specific T-harness to retain select factory vehicle controls and features.  The retained features for both models include steering wheel controls, navigation outputs, climate control display, warning chimes, OnStar® (voice commands, Bluetooth® hands free calling and WiFi hot spot retention) and visual parking guides when used with an Alpine or factory rear view camera.  Customized vehicle information such as tire pressure, battery voltage, door status, check engine codes, factory settings and user selectable gauges can be viewed on the 10-inch screen.

Audio and Sound Tuning Features
Audio and sound tuning features available on the X110-SLV and X110-SRA include:
· HD Radio™ Technology: The built-in HD Radio receiver delivers free, crystal clear digital sound from the more than 2,000 AM and FM stations broadcasting with HD Radio Technology and includes Artist Experience, MultiCast and iTunes Tagging support. Alpine’s MediaXpander® technology provides further enhanced sound quality by adding back missing harmonics in compressed media.
· iPod® and iPhone®:  The models are “Made for iPod and iPhone” compatible and have USB access.
· Pandora® internet radio: Pandora control is available from iPhone® and Android™ smartphones.  Users can create new Pandora stations, rate songs with thumbs up or down, and bookmark songs for later purchase.
· SiriusXM: Both models are SiriusXM-Ready™ and connect to the SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, subscription required). SiriusXM features include: album art; display of channel logos; pause, rewind and replay up to 60 minutes of content while listening to satellite radio; start songs from the beginning when tuned to any favorite music channel using TuneStart™; scan and select songs on favorite music channels with TuneScan™.
· FLAC/MP3/WMA/AAC/HE-AAC music playback via USB.
· Sound tuning features:  The large touch screen lets users easily adjust fader/balance/subwoofer levels, bass and treble frequencies, time correction, parametric EQ, crossover or choose from 10 EQ presets.  Alpine’s Bass Engine SQ applies simple bass sound characteristics through the choice of five bass profiles.  Alpine’s new Dual HD EQ allows for independent parametric equalizer tuning of front versus rear speakers to optimize total sound quality by leveraging differences in speaker sizes.  The X110-SLV and X110-SRA are also compatible with the Alpine TuneIt® App, a free app that lets users adjust sound settings or choose pre-made settings from the convenience of their smartphone.

Video and Navigation Features
The Restyle dash systems have a high-resolution screen for crisp, detailed picture quality.  The Dual Zone video control lets drivers use a source in the dash while the back seat passengers enjoy a separate video on the rear seat screen (optional rear seat entertainment system sold separately).

Both models have an HDMI input for connectivity to HDMI-enabled devices and an HDMI output for digital connection to a rear seat entertainment system (KCX-630HD HDMI switcher required).

Alpine’s proprietary navigation interface includes pre-loaded maps of the United States, Canada and more than seven million Points of Interest (POIs).  Major landmarks, buildings and terrain details for major cities are depicted in 3-D.  Driving directions are delivered through text-to-speech announcements and the highway services list displays the services available at each exit (gas, food, ATMs, etc.) to help drivers make quick decisions while en route.  The systems come with free lifetime HERE Traffic RDS service.

Bluetooth® Wireless Technology Features
Alpine’s advanced Bluetooth® wireless technology features include secure simple pairing (SSP); multipoint technology that allows for pairing and connecting of two different Bluetooth devices at the same time; phone battery, cellular signal level and received message icons; as well as call waiting.  Sound quality features include Alpine’s MediaXpander® technology for better playback of compressed media, improved audio streaming, and enhanced phone call sound quality.

“My Favorites” Customizable Settings
The “My Favorites” feature lets users customize a quick-access screen with shortcuts to their most-used features. Shortcuts can be created from audio sources, navigation commands and phone settings.  If the chosen radio station broadcasts metadata, the metadata is automatically fed into the radio station shortcut icon so the user can see the song that is playing before selecting the radio station.  The shortcuts are added by pressing the shortcut soft key that appears within all audio and hands-free sources.

Auburn Hills, Mich. (Aug. 15, 2023) – Following the launch of “Alpine Park” on Roblox in May, Alps Alpine North America, Inc. (“Alpine”) continues to invest in the virtual world and younger fan base by adding a new AI (artificial intelligence) character integration to the game experience. Designed in collaboration with Inworld AI, Trigger XR, and Stage3 Agency, Alpine is the first commercialized brand to launch this feature on Roblox.

“We’re no stranger to having ‘firsts’ in the car audio industry, but now we’re excited to be the first commercialized brand to introduce an AI Character integration on the Roblox platform,” said Mike Anderson, Executive Director of the Alpine Brand Aftermarket Division at Alps Alpine North America, Inc. “This feature will be instrumental in engaging with the younger generation and provides them with a unique opportunity to learn about the Alpine brand in a more casual and approachable environment that’s tailored to their interests.”

The new integration, powered by Inworld AI, a developer platform for AI characters, allows users to chat with NPCs (non-playable characters) modeled after an Alpine “Brand Specialist” and an Alpine “Fandom Enthusiast.” The characters are preprogrammed to discuss Alpine’s product story and fandom using custom knowledge bases and distinct personalities designed to align with the Alpine brand.

The Alpine Brand Specialist, “Cohen,” represents the Alpine brand and is a wealth of product, tech, and service knowledge. His main objective is to educate users on the brand, help them feel empowered in their purchase decisions, and visit their local Alpine Authorized Retailer.

The Alpine Fandom Enthusiast, “Carlos,” is a longtime lover of the Alpine brand who enjoys an active weekend lifestyle. Donning the iconic Alpine “Chiclet” tee (available for purchase on the Alpine website www.alpine-usa.com), his main objective is to meet and engage with fellow Alpine fans and share their enthusiasm for the products and services of the brand.

In addition to providing a unique brand experience for the younger generation, the launch of this feature positions Alpine for future retail opportunities on and off the platform.

"Trigger XR is so excited to work with Alpine on this groundbreaking Roblox launch,” said Jason Yim, Founder and CEO of Trigger XR. “Not only will we be creating a fun and engaging playground and a showcase of Alpine's products and personality, but it will also be the world's first commercialization of Inworld's AI character platform into Roblox. We believe this pioneering approach – applying character AI from the games industry to solve retail challenges – will set an early blueprint for both virtual and physical shopping experiences in the near future."

Users can find the characters in Alpine Park on the “showroom” floor near the Alpine demo vehicles.

Roblox is a mass multiplayer platform with over 200 million active users each month and can be accessed online on a computer or PC, a smartphone via Google Play or the App Store, an Xbox gaming system, or a VR headset. Alpine Park can be found by searching “Alpine Park” on the Roblox platform or at https://www.roblox.com/games/12956278832/Alpine-Park

The award-winning iLX-107 with 7-inch touch screen will be available for North America

Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2017) — Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. has introduced the iLX-107, an aftermarket in-dash receiver dedicated to wireless Apple CarPlay. The iLX-107 with 7-inch touch screen will be available for North America and gives drivers an even more convenient way to use Apple CarPlay in their vehicle. The iLX-107 debuted at the 2017 International CES taking place Jan. 5-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and was awarded with a CES Innovations Award for outstanding design and engineering in the In-Vehicle Audio/Video category.

“Apple CarPlay has been one of the most popular features with our customers and will gain even more fans with the wireless option,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “We are excited to deliver the iLX-107 to provide drivers with a seamless transition of their iPhone use in and out of the vehicle without having to connect a cable.”

The iLX-107 is an AM/FM receiver with a 7-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen and LED backlighting for bright visibility. Wireless Apple CarPlay lets iPhone users make and receive calls, access text messages, play music, and get directions optimized for traffic conditions in a way that allows them to stay focused on the road. Apple CarPlay is accessed through the iLX-107’s touch screen or through Siri voice control, and the resulting music, driving directions and phone calls are played through the vehicle’s speaker system. Apple CarPlay is compatible with iPhone 5 and later, including iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the latest version of iOS.

Once wireless Apple CarPlay has been set up, the iLX-107 will automatically search for and connect to the most frequently paired iPhone for all subsequent uses. Since the Apple CarPlay connection to the iLX-107 is wireless, there is no need to remove the iPhone from a pocket or purse to use it in the vehicle. The iLX-107 uses the 5 GHz WiFi band to optimize wireless connectivity performance.

The iLX-107 is compatible with the Alpine TuneIt® App, a free smartphone app that provides custom sound tuning for the iLX-107 and other Alpine audio systems. Other iLX-107 features include three (2V) preouts, one aux input, Alpine’s MediaXpander™ technology for improved playback of compressed media, and an input for a rear view camera system (camera system sold separately).

The iLX-107 retains select factory vehicle features when used with an iDatalink® Maestro® module (vehicle specific, sold separately). Users may also view customized vehicle information (selectable gauge screen, parking assist screen, etc.) on the 7-inch display. The retained features and customized information will vary by vehicle model.

System Expansion
Vehicle owners can also use the iLX-107 to control external accessories like a light bar, motorized tonneau cover, or winch when used with the optional KAC-001 External Accessory Controller ($250 SRI, sold separately). The KAC-001 works with up to eight relay-connected accessories which can be controlled from the iLX-107’s touch screen. A graphical icon and name can be assigned to each accessory for quick identification on the touch screen.

Alpine’s Apple CarPlay Lineup

The PWD-CB1Alpine ICE features a wireless sound system in a rugged premium cooler

Torrance, Calif. (October 20, 2016) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., manufacturer of premium in-vehicle infotainment systems, has expanded outside of the car to take the entertainment wherever the fun is with a portable sound system in a cooler. The new PWD-CB1 Alpine In-Cooler Entertainment (ICE) system is now shipping.

“For the past three years, we’ve produced Alpine Restyle vehicle-specific infotainment systems for the Jeep Wrangler, full-size trucks, and SUVs,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Through this experience, we recognized the need for an entertainment system that could be used outside of the vehicle yet matched the lifestyle activities of these owners, which led us to develop the PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE.”

The PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE features an Alpine sound system installed in a Grizzly™ Cooler and uses an innovative design that does not sacrifice storage capacity or cooling capability. The 180-watt Alpine sound system consists of a 2-way, 5.25-inch component waterproof speaker system with 4x10-inch bass radiators and a compact audio amplifier. The Bluetooth® wireless connection provides audio streaming and pairs to a portable device in seconds through the illuminated control panel. The side-mounted 3.5-mm aux input is used for a wired connection to a portable device, while the 3.5-mm audio output links multiple PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE systems together for bigger sound. The PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE is powered by the included 16-foot cable that plugs into the vehicle’s 12 volt auxiliary power outlet. When the PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE is connected to the vehicle, the monitoring system on the control panel signals the user if the vehicle needs to be started to prevent the battery from completely discharging,

Exclusive Design
The PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE upholds the distinctive Grizzly style while maintaining the sound performance of the Alpine system. The specially-designed speakers and bass radiators are recessed on the cooler’s front wall and produce balanced sound that can get loud when needed. The Alpine components are housed in an exclusive enclosure that protects them from interior cabin moisture but is only 3-inches deep, for minimal impact on the cooler’s 56-quart storage capacity.

The Alpine components are water resistant for easy cleanup, allowing the PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE to be used at outdoor activities like boating, fishing, water sports, camping and tailgating. The coated speaker grills are protected against corrosion, and rubber gaskets help keep water away from the control panel, speakers and electronics assemblies. A plastic cover and silicon rubber plugs shield the aux input and audio outputs when not in use. The PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE measures 34” L x 16 ¾” W x 17 7/8” H.  Signature Grizzly features include molded-in heavy duty handles, BearClaw™ latching system, nylon rope handles with rubber grips, non-slip rubber feet, and a two-inch drain plug.

Suggested Accessories
To take the PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE on the go, Alpine suggests connecting it to the Goal Zero Yeti 400 external battery (sold separately, www.goalzero.com). Alpine also suggests the Mighty Max Plus One Sports Cart with all-terrain wheels (sold separately, www.mightymaxcart.com) as a compatible cart for transporting the PWD-CB1 Alpine ICE.

Torrance, Calif. (August 28, 2018)– Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the PSS-23WRA, a new aftermarket powered sound system upgrade for the all-new 2018 4-door Jeep Wrangler.

“Jeep Wrangler owners like to accessorize their vehicles, so the PSS-23WRA is the first aftermarket sound system upgrade for those who own the all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler,” said Mike Anderson, vice president and general manager, brand business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “The PSS-23WRA boosts the overall performance of the factory sound system for an increase in bass with refined music characteristics, even with the vehicle’s top off.”

The PSS-23WRA is a powered sound system upgrade for 2018 and future model years 4-door Jeep Wrangler models that do not have the optional factory Alpine premium sound system. The 300-watt system consists of the PWE-S8 powered subwoofer, KTP-445U 4-channel ultra-compact power pack amplifier, SPR-10TW 2” component tweeters and a remote bass knob.

When driving with the Wrangler’s top off, it can be difficult to achieve good bass reproduction due to the noise in the exposed cabin. The PSS-23WRA addresses this by positioning the subwoofer and amplifier under the front passenger’s seat using the included Wrangler-specific bracket. This configuration loads and disperses the lower frequency sound into the passenger’s foot well, producing maximized bass extension throughout the vehicle even when the top is off. Utilizing this location does not take away from usable storage space in the vehicle.

The PWE-S8 and KTP-445U are compact designs, which makes it possible for them to be installed under the passenger’s seat. Unlike traditional subwoofers, the PWE-S8 is a shallow format that measures just 13.5” L x 9” W x 3” D. The PWE-S8 and KTP-445U are pre-assembled for bolt-on installation with simple wire routing. Installation accessories such as tweeter adapters, a wiring harness, and a T-harness for connection to the vehicle are included. The tweeters add high frequency response for clarity and definition and fit in the factory locations on top of the dash, so no custom installation is needed.

Compatibility and Availability

The PSS-23WRA is compatible with the factory Jeep base radio and an Alpine or other aftermarket head unit. It can be purchased nowfor $1,500 SRI at authorized Alpine retailers, visitwww.alpine-usa.comfor a store locator.

This versatile processor creates a proper sound stage even when used with a factory head unit.

Torrance, Calif. (Apr. 4, 2018)– Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now shipping the new PXE-0850S 12-channel sound processor with Bluetooth®app control.

“The PXE-0850S processor allows for customization of a sound system even with today’s factory head units,” said Mike Anderson, vice president and general manager, brand business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Users can tune their system wirelessly with a tablet or smartphone or through a PC, to create a sound stage that fits their listening preference.”

The PXE-0850S overcomes inherent acoustical anomalies within vehicles to develop a well-balanced response and proper sound stage. This versatile processor can be used with a factory head unit, Alpine head unit, or other aftermarket head unit for instant sound system improvement.

Setting a Foundation for System Building
Complex factory head units can make it hard to add on aftermarket products, so DSP (Digital Signal Processor) management is key to unlocking a system for custom sound tuning. The PXE-0850S can take up to six independent signals and combine them to create a full-range signal. The full-range signal can then be sent to up to 12 independent channels, creating an opportunity to add aftermarket amplifiers and speakers to the system.

Easy Access to Detailed Sound Tuning
Now that the system’s DSP management is accessible, precise sound tuning can begin. The PXE-0850S lets users set a proper sound stage by delaying the timing from each speaker location so it reaches the driver’s ears at the same time. The 31-band parametric and graphic equalizer can dial down unwanted frequencies and flatten the response to ensure the system is replicating the music exactly as the artist intended.

The PXE-0850S can tune a system wirelessly or through a wired connection on a PC (using the included USB cable). Bluetooth wireless tuning using a smartphone or tablet requires the free “PXE-DSP-APP” found on the App Store and Google Play. The app for the wired PC connection is available through the “Support” section onwww.alpine-usa.com. Either format allows the user to assign inputs/outputs, crossovers, time correction, and 31 bands of equalization, view them in one place, and make and hear sound adjustments with real-time results.

Tuning setups can be saved for future use in vehicles with similar setups. This is ideal for installers who routinely tune multiple vehicles, allowing them to build a library of tuning setups to save time in the future.

Adjustments from the Dash
The PXE-0850S comes with an LCD remote controller that can be flush-mounted on the dash. The rotary knob controls volume, preset storage and recall, all while displaying the results on the remote controller’s LED screen. The use of the controller is optional and it does not have to be installed if the smartphone control is enough.

The PXE-0850S is available at authorized Alpine retailers for $700 SRI. Visit www.alpine-usa.com for a store locator.

New Features

The X209-WRA and i209-WRA can keep up with the adventures even when they’re exposed to dirt, dust and light rain. The 9-inch touchscreen and bezel are rated at IP53 for protection against dust with limited ingress and fresh water spray up to 60° vertical, so the journey can go on uninterrupted.

The X209-WRA and i209-WRA are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both models “Work with Apple CarPlay” and let iPhone users make and receive calls, access text messages, play music, and get directions in a way that allows them to stay focused on the road. The X209-WRA and i209-WRA are also Android Auto Compatible. Android Auto was designed with safety in mind. With larger touch targets, a simplified interface, and easy-to-use voice actions, it's designed to minimize distraction so drivers can stay focused on the road (requires both a USB cable and Bluetooth connection; requires an Android™ phone running 5.0 [Lollipop] or higher and the Android Auto app). Android Auto is accessed through the touch screen or the “Voice” hard button with voice control.

The X209-WRA is a match for drivers who prefer an embedded navigation system. When used off the beaten path where cellular service and smartphone maps are not accessible, the X209-WRA’s embedded navigation will continue to operate with route guidance. When used in major metropolitan areas, the navigation system is supplemented with free lifetime RDS traffic monitoring from HERE®. In contrast, the i209-WRA is suited for drivers who are comfortable with smartphone maps and don’t need an embedded navigation system.

Free app brings popular infotainment content to compatible Alpine Restyle Dash Systems

Torrance, Calif. (June 2, 2016) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. has announced the availability of the new “Alpine Connect” smartphone app for the North American market. This free app, available for iPhone or Android smartphones, provides popular infotainment apps from leading content providers for select Alpine Restyle Dash systems in a format that is friendly for in-vehicle use. Alpine Connect users can now benefit from a consistent and familiar Alpine user interface experience when using apps in their vehicles without having to learn new controls or commands.
Alpine Connect initially features apps from Yelp®, for finding local places to eat, drink, and shop; and iHeartRadio, for streaming live radio stations from across the country, custom music stations, 24/7 news, on-demand podcasts, and the best in sports, talk and comedy programming.  Additional apps will be added to Alpine Connect in 2016 beginning with Spotify® and Glympse®.
Users can find the Alpine Connect app today on the Apple App and Google Play stores. After downloading the app to their smartphone, and connecting the phone to their Alpine system (via a USB connection for iPhone, or via Bluetooth for Android smartphone), the infotainment content will become visible and available for use.  When new apps are added to Alpine Connect, they will automatically become available to the user the next time the smartphone is connected to the Alpine Restyle Dash system.
Alpine Connect vehicle connectivity, infotainment content procurement and integration, and smartphone app are powered by Airbiquity®, a leading connected car service delivery provider.
Compatible Alpine Restyle Dash Systems
Alpine Connect is compatible with five Alpine Restyle Dash Systems, which are available in various screen sizes:
· 10-inch: X110-SLV, for 2014-up Chevrolet Silverado, and the X110-SRA, for 2014-up GMC Sierra
· 9-inch: X109-WRA, for 2011-up Jeep Wrangler (due later this month)
· 8-inch: X108U, for select vehicles and custom installations
· 7-inch: INE-W967HD, for universal installations

All Alpine Restyle Dash Systems are multi-featured systems with audio, video, navigation, and Bluetooth capabilities and equipped with a capacitive touch screen.  The 10/9/8-inch Alpine Restyle Dash systems feature oversize screens designed to work in specific vehicles.  All systems (except the INE-W967HD for universal installations) come with a vehicle specific, fitted dash bezel that provides a factory-like fit and finish in the vehicle (vehicle specific dash bezels that fit the X108U are sold separately).
Current owners of the X110-SLV, X110-SRA, X108U and INE-W967HD Restyle Dash Systems need to apply a software update so their system is compatible with the Alpine Connect app.  The free software update is available for download from Alpine’s U.S. website, www.alpine-usa.com.  The new X109-WRA and future shipments of the noted Restyle Dash Systems will already be loaded with the software update.

Showing its commitment to enhancing the driving experience for GM truck owners, Alpine Electronics has debuted a widened lineup of its Alpine Restyle products at the 2016 International CES, taking place Jan. 6-9, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The new products aim to go beyond traditional in-dash systems to address the various ways drivers use their trucks and add-on accessories.

“GM truck owners take pride in their trucks and choose accessories to help their drive, whether for work or leisure,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “The new Alpine Restyle products for this market are more than just entertainment products, they are tools that drivers can depend on to improve their driving experience.”

A Factory Look, No Matter the Screen Size
There are four Restyle dash systems that can each serve as the centerpiece for an Alpine system optimized for GM trucks. The 10-inch systems – revolutionary designs that represent the largest aftermarket system screen for North America – are the X110-SLV for 2014-up Chevrolet Silverados and the X110-SRA for 2014-up GMC Sierras. The 9-inch models – which are still larger than the industry standard 2-DIN screen size – are the X009-GM for select 2007-2013 GM trucks with lower dash radio and 2007-2014 GM SUVs, and the X009-GM2 for select GM 2007-2013 full size trucks with upper dash radio. Each comes with a dash bezel that replaces the OEM radio for a factory look and vehicle specific wiring harnesses for plug and play installation.

X009-GM and X009-GM2 9-Inch Restyle Dash Systems
The X009-GM and X009-GM2 are 9-inch Restyle dash systems with audio, video and navigation feature sets. Audio sources include a built-in HD Radio™ receiver, iPhone and iPod® music control through the “Made for iPod and iPhone” compatibility, audio streaming and Pandora® control from iPhone and Android™ smartphones. Both models are SiriusXM-Ready™ and connect to the SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, subscription required). Video features include a high-resolution screen and HDMI input for connectivity to HDMI-enabled devices and an HDMI output for digital connection to a rear seat entertainment system. Navigation benefits include pre-loaded maps of the United States, Canada, more than seven million Points of Interest (POIs), and free lifetime HERE Traffic RDS service. Both models have Alpine’s advanced Bluetooth® wireless technology and MediaXpander® technology for better playback of compressed media, improved audio streaming, and enhanced phone call sound quality. The models also come with an iDatalink® Maestro® module to retain select factory vehicle controls and features like OnStar™ from GM, steering wheel controls and visual parking guides when used with a rear view camera. Customized vehicle information such as tire pressure, battery voltage, and user selectable gauges can also be viewed on the screen. The “My Favorites” feature lets users customize a quick-access screen with shortcuts to their most-used features like audio sources, navigation commands and phone settings.

X110-SLV and X110-SRA 10-Inch Restyle Dash Systems
The X110-SLV and X110-SRA have new features appearing for the first time ever on Alpine products, as well as the same capabilities as the 9-inch models. Leading the list of new features is the large 10-inch capacitive WXGA touch screen, which comes with a vehicle specific trim bezel with crystal back-lit keys and a rotary encoder knob. The X110-SLV uses a blue color scheme for the crystal keys and graphical user interface (GUI) which matches the Silverado’s dashboard and gauge cluster, while the X110-SRA uses a red color scheme to match the Sierra’s dashboard and gauge cluster.

The X110-SLV and X110-SRA feature a new GUI based on a new graphics rendering engine with 4-way swipe action control -- left, right, down and up. A left swipe accesses navigation commands, a right swipe accesses audio and video commands, a swipe down accesses adjustments to the audio system or rear seat entertainment system (sold separately) and a swipe up accesses Bluetooth and source selection. Within the audio and video page, the user can swipe across to access the entertainment sources connected to the system.

Smartphone connectivity powered by Airbiquity® for iPhone and Android based smartphones will feature a portfolio of useful and popular infotainment content. The companion Alpine Connect smartphone app will provide simple content selection and user personalization. The content features will integrate into Alpine user and navigation interfaces for enhanced user convenience. Alpine Connect content for April 2016 retail availability will include Spotify for streaming music and playlists; iHeartRadio for streaming live radio stations from across the country, custom music stations, 24/7 news, on-demand podcasts, and the best in sports, talk and comedy programming; Yelp for finding local places to eat, drink, and shop; and Glympse for sharing locations with friends and family. Additional content will be added to the Alpine Connect portfolio at later dates.

System Expansion for 10-inch Restyle Dash Systems
When used with the optional KAC-001 External Accessory Control Module (sold separately), the X110-SLV and X110-SRA become a hub for convenient touch screen control of up to eight add-on truck accessories like a motorized tonneau cover, air suspension, light bar, winch, headlights, etc. A graphical icon and custom text label can be assigned to each accessory for quick identification on the screen. Eight individual outputs are available to control eight relay-connected accessories, and each output can be configured as pulsed, latched or momentary output. The KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Controller (sold separately) allows as many as three camera systems to be added to the vehicle and controlled from the touch screen. Video entertainment can be enjoyed by the back seat passengers with the addition of the PKG-RSE4AP rear seat entertainment system with 11.4-inch flip-down screen (sold separately). It features a direct HDMI input for connection to the X110-SRA and X110-SLV. Unique to the PKG-RSE4AP is the Plasmacluster® technology, which reduces bacteria from the truck’s interior by decreasing contaminants and odors via charged particle attraction for a cleaner in-vehicle environment.

Truck Sound Systems and Tailgate Handle Camera
Rounding out the specific offerings for GM trucks and SUVs are two sound systems and a tailgate handle camera. The new PSS-31GM 3-Way Direct Fit Sound System Package is optimized for select 2014-up GM full size trucks. The package consists of the SPT-31GM 3-way component direct-fit speaker system, an MRV-V500 5-channel V-Power amplifier and Alpine's unique 10-inch Zero Space Subwoofer. The SPT-31GM upgrades the truck’s speaker system from a 2-way to a 3-way system by supplying 8-inch woofers (for the front doors), 6.5-inch coaxial speakers (for the rear doors) and 3-inch midrange speakers plus 1-inch tweeters (installed in the dash) which all fit in the factory speaker locations. The kit comes with speaker pods that are Alpine engineered for the compatible trucks and create a factory-fit look (the SPT-31GM is also available as its own packaged speaker system). The subwoofer assembly comes with a specifically tuned enclosure for 2014-up GM trucks and attaches to the back wall behind the rear seat in the truck so it doesn't take up any usable space under a seat. It’s tuned for deep bass and creates low-frequency extension by coupling the enclosure to the cabin vents behind the seat. All needed installation hardware like amplifier wiring and speaker adapters are included.

Still available is the PSS-21GM Sound System Package for 2007-2013 GM full size trucks. Included in the package are the SPT-21GM GM truck speaker system (consisting of 2-way, 6 ½-inch component speakers for the front doors, 6 ½-inch coaxial speakers for the rear doors, and custom speaker pods that fit the compatible trucks), an MRV-V500 5-channel amplifier and a 10-inch Zero Space Subwoofer for 2007-2013 GM full size trucks. The SPT-21GM is available on its own as a speaker system or as part of the complete PSS-GM21 sound system.

The HCE-TG130GM Tailgate Handle Camera System is specifically designed for 2007-2013 GM trucks. It consists of a rear view camera system with a tailgate handle surround bezel and integrated LED reverse lights. It replaces the stock tailgate handle surround bezel for direct bolt-in installation and has a keyable lock cylinder to deter theft. There are four viewing modes, each of which are especially helpful for truck drivers: normal view to back into parking spaces; ground view to see the area directly under the camera to help with connecting to a tow hitch; split view to identify objects on the left and right corners; and panorama view to see the entire driveway when backing out.
