TWICE -- Alpine plans to launch the industry’s first 10-inch in-dash A/V-navigation system.
The product, which won a 2016 CES Innovation Award, will be part of Alpine’s Restyle series of car-navigation systems, which are bundled with dash kits for specific SUVs and full-size trucks to retain a factory look. The systems also come with iDatalink Maestro OEM-integration module, which plugs into a vehicle’s databus to retain factory features when the factory radio is removed.
Up until now, the maximum screen size in the Restyle series has been 9 inches.
A product description on the Consumer Technology Association’s website says Alpine’sX110-SLV 10-inch Restyle Dash System is designed for 2014-up Chevy Silverados, comes with a dash kit that replaces OEM audio controls, and connects to an optional add-on module. The module enables the head unit to control vehicle accessories.
