JVC Enhances Your In-Vehicle Experience with Duo of Multimedia Receivers

LONG BEACH, CALIF. -- January 8th, 2020 -- JVC Mobile Entertainment is introducing 2 new wireless enabled multimedia receivers at CES that will be shipping in March, the KW-M865BW (MSRP $649.95) and the KW-V960BW (MSRP $749.95). These attractive models are designed with sleek looks, offering an easy user customization experience, top-end K2 and other sound technologies, and further enhanced vehicle integration support.

With both models featuring a 6.8-inch Clear Restive touch panel, users can clearly see and control the receiver’s unique customizable widget screens on the display, allowing functions such as radar detection information to be displayed when a compatible ESCORT® or K40® radar detector is installed in conjunction with an iDatalink® Maestro® RR, all of which are available optionally and sold separately. Additional vehicle integration display and control options available on compatible vehicles when an iDatalink Maestro RR is connected include: Tire Pressure Monitoring System info- including tire pressure and temperature, OEM climate display and control, OEM camera control, steering wheel control retention, vehicle gauges, dynamic parking guidelines, and many more.

Their intuitively designed dynamic graphic user interface features Live Wallpaper, which synchronizes the background color and visuals with music, creating a visual experience that compliments the audio. They both also incorporate JVC’s unique Advanced Gesture Touch Control, which enhances safety by helping users to keep their eyes on the road while using intuitive hand movements to control select popular functions, such as volume and track changes without ever needing to touch the receiver.

To further optimize performance and integration, both models now include hardware support for up to four cameras. Users are able to add various configurations of reverse, front, and blind spot cameras. When connected to the iDatalink Maestro RR, supported vehicles with blind spot cameras can automatically have the corresponding camera displayed upon activation of the vehicle’s turn signal. Additional performance enhancements include the ability to now mirror the display of an Android® or an iOS® device, using the JVC Mirroring application and a hardwired USB connection. Although wireless Android screen mirroring became a reality on select 2019 models, it was not available for iOS users. When connecting a smartphone to the receiver’s USB input, users can see exactly what the phone displays on the receiver itself, along with the display of many (not all) third party apps, keeping in mind that the vehicle must be parked with the parking brake engaged to use this feature.

To complement the already impressive wireless or wired Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ Connectivity, both models now also provide wireless playback of Hi-Res Audio when connected via Bluetooth to a compatible smartphone. To date, compatible smartphones include select Android models, which have menu selection options for bit rate transfer of up to 990 kpbs, that is more than three times the bit rate of typical Bluetooth audio. To achieve this, JVC utilizes LDAC™, an audio coding technology that enables Hi-Res Audio content over a Bluetooth connection. This helps to complement its support for Hi-Res Audio file playback of FLAC/WAV files via the USB input.

To gain a better in-car entertainment experience, both models also come SiriusXM-Ready® (SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner and subscription sold separately) providing access to over 150 channels of the widest variety of ad-free music, plus entertainment, news, comedy and sports you won’t hear anywhere else.
