Southfield, MI, February 27, 2019 – Following recent launch activities at CES 2018, Vision Zero Automotive Network today announced the support of several key industry leaders joining their fight to save lives. New supporters include Alcohol Detection Systems (ADS), Alpine, CE Outlook, Crutchfield, Directed, Kenwood, MEA, Mitek, Sony, and Xperi (HD Radio), adding to the growing list of supporters that already includes Auto Action, Brandmotion, EDA, Firstech, Metra, Pioneer, and Voxx International.
“We’re thrilled by the support that we’re getting for our cause,” said Bernie Sapienza, Executive Director of Vision Zero Automotive Network. “Momentum has been building and it’s very gratifying to see so many great companies stepping up to help. It proves there is significant interest in unifying this industry around our auto safety message.”
Aron Demers, Senior Vice President at VOXX International explains why they want to get more involved: “With the heightened awareness of both OEM and aftermarket ADAS products, Vision Zero’s message for saving lives and improving quality of driving behaviors is spot on. Most consumers have some degree of ADAS product knowledge, but they don’t know where these products can be purchased and installed. As the Vision Zero pledge starts to resonate with more retailers, not only will the products save more lives, the campaign should lead to additional sales opportunities for all.
Vision Zero Automotive Networks’ mission of saving 10,000 lives per year will feature a number of new activities in 2019. Jeff Varick, Founder of the Vision Zero Automotive Network, added, “We have a number of initiatives on the way including the launch of a new website, a social media campaign, and new dealer programs to be announced in the coming weeks.”
Says Bob Stuble, Directed CEO, “Keeping drivers safe and secure is a central mission at Directed, so we are deeply committed to Vision Zero’s message. Bringing state-of the art-technology to the automotive aftermarket is a major piece of the driver safety puzzle, and that’s what we live for. Our Alcohol Detection Systems (ADS) business unit, a leader in the Ignition Interlock Device industry, helps keep drivers alive every day. Adds Stuble, “Bernie Sapienza, who I’ve worked closely with for years, is the perfect leader for Vision Zero, and we’re thrilled to be joining his team’s efforts.”
Jim Warren, Executive Director of Elite Distributor Alliance (EDA) added, “EDA members are fully embracing this important category. Research continues to show that there is a huge appetite for safety amongst the public, and VZAN will help raise awareness about what’s available today that can help make cars safer.”
