3/24/2016 -- Diamond Audio, an industry leader in high-end mobile audio products, recently exhibited at the 30th annual Spring Break Nationals at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

In addition, Larry Frederick of New Product Development, provided dealer training and covered educational topics such as tuning vehicles and system troubleshooting. He demonstrated Diamond Audio’s new MICROV2 series amplifiers designed with an integrated Bluetooth port that accepts Diamond Audio’s new and compatible DATBTR10 and DATBRT12 Bluetooth receivers that can operate with any Bluetooth enabled device. Utilizing a custom “boom box” equipped with Diamond Elite series speakers and subwoofers, he demonstrated how speaker distance can cause and effect multiple phase/time and frequency aberrations and how many variables in the car audio environment can have an impact on sound quality.

“I think that real world demonstrations are very beneficial for our dealers and by doing this, I hope that it can help them deliver the most optimal performance out of Diamond Audio products and achieve the ultimate listening environment,” Frederick said. Diamond Audio showcased a highly customized demo vehicle with a sound system full of Diamond Elite series products in its booth that was built by local dealer, MARS Audio in Orlando, FL. It took home multiple trophies and won a “Best of Show” award at Spring Break Nationals.

Diamond Audio’s newest addition to its product line, Motorsport Series, was being demonstrated throughout the show in a fully active display board that is now being offered to authorized Diamond Audio dealers. Tri Star Marketing, Diamond Audio’s sales representative from Florida educated and informed dealers and spectators of Diamond Audio’s new product line all weekend long and are looking forward to the tremendous growth opportunities with the brand.

“This event provided me with the opportunity to talk with both our valued dealers and consumers about Diamond Audio. It’s great to be out in the field and have our finger on the pulse of the car audio scene and participating in a car audio event that’s been in existence for 30 years now. December 27, 2016, Daytona Beach, Fla. -- In response to requests from SBN participants that has been resonating for years, the IASCA 2017 Season Kickoff, will take place at the Daytona International Speedway.

Held in conjunction with the Spring Turkey Run Car Show March 24 – 26, 2017, the event features over 15,000 spectators and more than 3,000 custom and classic cars from all eras. A host of planned activities and celebrity appearances include “Horny Mike” from hit TV show “Counting Cars” along with several others from the custom car industry. As it has over the last 30 years in its former venue, IASCA will produce the Sound Quality and SPL competitions, joined by MECA Sound Quality and SPL, and the dB Drag Racing Association’s SPL competitions.

“Hosting the Auto Sound Competition Kickoff at the Daytona International Speedway is something our members and participants have been asking for, for quite some time” says Moe Sabourin, Director of Operations for IASCA Worldwide “Being able to join in with one of the largest custom and classic car shows in the country makes it even better and will give our competitors so much more to see and do; it’s going to be a very exciting weekend.”  IASCA President and SBN Founder Paul Papadeas commented, “Bringing the auto sound competition experience to a consumer driven event like the Turkey Run is huge. Over fifteen thousand car enthusiasts attend. These people continually invest in their rides and are now showing more interest for In-Car Entertainment and Safety Accessories.”

Papadeas continues, “The IASCA mission is two-fold. On one hand we work to proliferate consumer awareness and on the other we encourage 12 Volt Manufacturers and Distributors to host, stimulate and educate retailers with sales and marketing methods while having a little fun. We’ve suggested that suppliers stimulate industry attendance by offing “show special discounts and terms” exclusively on site. "Both trade and consumers need the education that these events offer but now event production must be approached differently; one size does not fit all. Our industry’s demographics and product offerings have changed. We must respond to that which best serves our industry’s needs. Intermingling consumers and industry members in one venue can be most effective if you present the event to the respective participants independently. Sharing the show floor to both factions simultaneously is less productive. Opening the show floor to the public in a festive manner for one evening is sufficient to peak consumer interest. It’s my personal goal to collaborate with industry proponents to establish the means to produce an event that serves both factions."

Online pre-registrations for the IASCA Season Kickoff, featuring competition registrations for IASCA, MECA and dB Drag Racing will open January 1st, 2017 on the IASCA website at www.iasca.com/store.

For more info on registrations, host hotels and competition formats, visit the IASCA website at www.iasca.com or contact the IASCA office at 386 322 1551.

Forty four of the industry’s leading manufacturers along with regional distributors of Mobile Electronics and accessories exhibited in support of the 29th annual Spring Break Nationals this past weekend. The 200,000 square foot Ocean Center in Daytona Beach was filled with spectators and trade attendees.

The SPL zone saw SPL brands the likes of Orion, McLaren Sound Systems, DS 18 and PRV Brazil presenting their various sounds. The much quieter SQ Zone was packed with manufacturer’s exhibits, IASCA and MECA Sound Quality competition vehicles and premier installations by those entered into the inaugural Installer 5K. The IASCA I-5K contest awarded Top Installer, Brian Mitchell of Liquid Trends, Modesto California with a $5,000 cash prize for the best installation according to IASCA rules.

Brands committed to the growth of their Dealers served them with training and seminars in product, sales and technical knowledge. Memphis Audio, Soundstream, JL Audio, elettromedia, Cerwin Vega, Diamond Audio, PRV, DS18 all secured breakout rooms to perform these sessions off of the show floor. On the show floor, Encore Security Systems performed an onsite, hands on installation demonstration seminar of their top of the line E9 system. Event founder and producer Paul Papadeas said “as a mobile electronics retailer for 41 years, I’m pleased to see that there are still companies that take stock in their Dealers assisting in their development as we move forward into this extreme technically oriented era”.

The team at Tampa based DOW Electronics, along with their latest acquisition of Eagle Distributors, hosted two full days of sessions courting Dealers near and far. Dow’s anchor brands: Sony, Rockford Fosgate, Kenwood, Arc Audio were the headliners along with eleven other brands that Dow represents in booth spaces and in breakout rooms.

“DOW Electronics is proud to support in.car.EXPO at SBN” said Dave Elkin, VP of Sales for DOW, “we’ve continued to ramp up our participation in this event and we’re very excited to play a part in the transformation of this show into a trade based event. in.car.EXPO is an important evolution for the industry and we are dedicated to its success”.

For the second year in a row, DOW Electronics Distributors were the recipients of the Bruce Terrell Award that recognizes the most proactive company that work tirelessly to promote the Mobile Electronics Industry and Dealer education. Elkin went on to say, “We at DOW work very hard to grow the 12V business and continues to find creative and meaningful ways to support 12V Dealers. Receiving this award validates our strategic decisions”.

March 28, 2017 - Daytona Beach, Florida - The auto sound event in Daytona Beach that kicks off the Soundoff competition season every year was held in new “digs”. For the first time in 31 years, the annual Spring Break Nationals changed venues from the 200,000 sq. ft. Ocean Center to the DIS (Daytona International Speedway).

Having outgrown the former venue and for the several years that the competitors of IASCA, MECA, ISPLL and dB Drag Racing were clamoring for a venue that they can play and spread out in, the DIS was the perfect venue so, this year, the move was made.

There were several experiences that made this event special. First was that it was held in conjunction with the Spring Turkey Run, a 28-year car show that takes place at the Speedway twice a year. STR draws a huge audience and provided a bevy of very cool cars and trucks to look at.

The vastness of the Speedway venue in itself saw no police dispatched for noise complaints nor were there any citations written. The show hours were easy, beginning a bit early but finishing the day at 4pm. All competitions ran smoothly with SPL spread out from the base of Turn 1 all the way to Turn 2 of the Racetrack.

The SQ competitions were held in the NASCAR garages, a distance away from SPL so there was no interference during the judging. Tuner Jam car show contestants had their own area to show and shine as well. Soundoff awards were handed out to the winners who were able to drive their competition cars into DIS Victory Lane. Competitors and even some of the factory guys were thrilled to have a police escort for a couple of laps around the Daytona Speedway.

SBN founder Paul Papadeas said “in keeping with our commitment to consumer awareness, participating manufacturers helped support this venture that was attached to a show which caters to the demographics that are now a great part of our industry’s consumers. Among them were Kenwood, Arc Audio, Metra Electronics, Orion and several others. As anyone might expect in a new venue, there were very few issues that arose and were quickly overcome. We had to make some corrections on the fly to ensure all participant’s satisfaction”.

“During the event” Papadeas said, “I canvased the grounds making notes on how both factions of the event could improve including better exhibit placement, dedicated shuttles for the ‘South 40’ where the DEMOs cranked; many improvements are on the agenda. As always, we look forward to all forms of feedback from those that participated so we can address any concerns that were not visible during the event.” The suggestion box is open and can be send to This email address is being protected from spambots. The 30th annual SBN / in.car.EXPO is set for March 19-20, 2016 at the Ocean Center, 101 North Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Leading Mobile Electronics Manufacturers, Rep Firms, Dealers and Distributors along with the leading Sound Competition Organizations and their Competitors from all over the country will be present at the industry’s longest running Mobile Electronics Expo, the Spring Break Nationals / in.car.EXPO.

A change of floorplan will bring New and returning Manufacturers, Custom Show Car, Sound Quality Competition Vehicles and Dealer Vehicle Displays to the 100,000 square foot Exhibit Hall. This group will occupy the NEW SQ Zone. “We want to represent what this industry is really all about to Consumers and Dealers as well” said SBN Founder Paul Papadeas. “We have simply got to demonstrate the steps beyond what’s offered by OEM.” The Exhibit Hall will provide a much quieter environment of Mobile Electronics Entertainment, Convenience and Safety Equipment Displays.

On the other side of the Main Lobby, SBN EXPO creates the exclusive DEMO ZONE. “With PRO AUDIO SPL Systems trending”, said Papadeas, “we decided to dedicate the entire Ocean Center Arena to PRO AUDIO SPL Manufacturer’s Displays and will sign on up to 80 Consumer and Dealer DEMO Vehicles; these guys will finally have the opportunity to show off and virtually “PLAY ALL DAY”.

On the educational front, Auto Sound Dealers east of the Mississippi will have a great opportunity to attend two distinct and in-depth, Mobile Electronics Industry Specific Sales Training Sessions with Del Ellis. The first one; “Creating More Profitable Sales” and the other; “How to Get People Off the Telephone and into Your Shop”. “I’m very fortunate; I have been able to help some of the best stores in the industry,” said Ellis, “I share my 22 years of retail store ownership and teach with a full blown focus on sales techniques to Combat Internet Sales and Pricing and How to End Profit Erosion While Increasing Profitability. More information on the seminars is available at  www.delellisintl.com

“It’s an honor and a privilege to host our 30th annual event.” says Papadeas, “we’ve found the formula to promote our industry’s best technology and teach consumers and trade participants what they need to know.” For what you want to know about participating in this milestone event, please visit www.springbreaknationals.com. The mobile electronics event that kicks off the spring car audio selling season is on its way to celebrate its 30th year. On March 19 - 20, 2016, SBN EXPO Group will produce its annual event at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach Florida.

“We’re thrilled to reach this milestone of the event that has served the industry for so long”, said event founder Paul Papadeas. “Every year, we offer Manufacturers, Distributors and Dealers the opportunity to come together at this industry institution to network, sharing information, training and consumer exposure. Our industry has changed over the years; we’ve modified and adapted the event to the contemporary needs of industry. The one thing that hasn’t changed is the need for continuing Dealer education and consumer exposure to our category. To do all this in a fun-filled environment is unique and I feel that we have that under wraps.”

The two-day event will host the most progressive brands in industry. “I’m thrilled that companies use SBN / ICE as their Southeast Mobile E trade show” says Papadeas, “it shows that they take stock in their Dealer’s success. Within the 30 years of our events, supporting brands have found the value of SBN/ICE coming face to face with Dealers and their customers, the networking opportunity is great.”.

For 2016 SBN EXPO Group, LLC turns back the calendar on exhibiting costs to reflect those set over 2 decades ago. “Our goal, Papadeas said, “is to offer the best exposure for the brands that haven’t yet experienced the potential of our event and at the same time reward the dozens that have over our 30 years.”

An Industry Gala is planned for the event’s Saturday night with details to come.
