EDMOND, Okla. — Petra Industries partnered with the Oklahoma Blood Institute to host a blood drive on July 28 at their corporate office in Edmond, OK.

Petra team members lined up and donate blood for those in their community who will need it most. The 17 people that lined up throughout their busy workday helped to save 51 lives in our community.

“I consider donating blood giving someone the gift of life, and I feel like it’s a great way to help out those in need,” said Petra Team member Austin Chappell. “People all around Oklahoma are in need of blood, so if I can give them another chance at life by making a simple blood donation, I’m going to unreservedly do it.”

Community involvement has been at the bedrock of the Petra’s culture since its founding more than 30 years ago. So whether it is hosting the annual Hope in One Charity Golf Tournament, raising money for Petra’s in-house financial assistance program, the Big Heart Alliance, providing paid time off for employees to volunteer, or hosting a blood drive—Petra invests in the wellbeing of their community.

The following day participants hit the links at Oak Tree Country Club for a shotgun-start best-ball scramble. The festivities concluded with a luncheon for all attendees, where prizes were awarded for best team score, longest drive, longest putt and closest-to-the-pin competitions on designated holes.

Near the conclusion of the event, participants were privileged to hear personal and inspirational testimonials from alumni of Whiz Kids and Mercy Multiplied. Their moving messages conveyed the positive impact that these programs have on the community to all in attendance.

EDMOND, Okla. — Petra Industries has announced that it’s 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held on October 12, raised $100,000 to support Whiz Kids of Oklahoma and Mercy Multiplied, Intl.

More than 120 golfers, comprised of some of Petra’s vendors and partners, participated in this year’s event. The festivities began on Wednesday, October 11, with a cocktail reception and Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament at Topgolf Oklahoma City. The following day, participants hit the links at Oak Tree Country Club for a shotgun-start scramble. The festivities concluded with a luncheon for all attendees, where prizes were awarded for best team score, longest drive, longest putt and closest-to-the-pin competitions on designated holes, along with a variety of grand prizes.

EDMOND, Okla. — Petra Industries, an accessory manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Robin Waters on as Vice-President of Finance.

In October 2015 Waters joined Petra as the Director of Finance and brought with her years of experience in senior finance positions including an extensive financial background and has shown steady leadership throughout her departments. In her new role as Vice-President she is responsible for providing leadership to Petra’s various departments within finance including: accounting, finance, budget processes, multi-state sales and use tax and credit underwriting.
