The Industry's #1 Resource

Douglasville, Georgia – August 7th, 2017 – Omega Research & Development Technologies, Inc. is introducing a new line of vehicle specific plug-in harnesses that add ANY Excalibur 70 series remote start with an OmegaLink bypass module at this year’s KnowledgeFest in Dallas, Texas. The initial launch will cover the majority of domestic vehicle applications. They are also releasing a new v1.3 firmware for their Excalibur remote start line this week.

The new line of OmegaLink plug-in harnesses are compatible with all Excalibur 70 series remote start systems combined with an OL-BLADE-AL64 or OL-MDB-ALL interface module. Installers can now take advantage of the timesaving features of plug-in systems without sacrificing features. For example, our AL-1870-3DB 2-way remote start/alarm can be installed in 2011-17 Dodge Caravans in under 30 minutes with only 1 hardwire connection to the vehicle for flashing lights. Just connect siren and shock sensor to complete the system. The vehicle would be equipped with full keyless entry, sliding door control, rear hatch control, remote start, low and high temp auto start, low volt auto start, run timer with on demand run-time extender, low vehicle battery alert, full security, long range remote, and every other feature a 70 series has to offer. The full line-up of OL-HRN-RS harnesses will be released at Knowledgefest Dallas August 11-14.

The company is also releasing its new v1.3 firmware for all Excalibur 70 series remote start systems this week. It brings a bundle of enhancements and feature upgrades for the 2017 remote start season. It's added latched output settings for Aux channels and upgraded our low temp auto-start to have three selectable temperature thresholds. A high temp auto-start capability was also added, which also includes three selectable thresholds, for any vehicles carrying sensitive cargo. Aux channel activation and multicar selection can now be performed with one hand on all 2-way controllers making access easier while carrying things to your car.

A new “lock without arming” feature was added for on-demand keyless entry only. This is ideal for recreational vehicles or any situation where lock control is desired while the vehicle is occupied. One of many features designed to help our dealers expand their application coverage to new market segments beyond passenger vehicles. Last, but not least, all 70 series 2-way controllers have significantly increased battery life with new intelligent power management technology. Excalibur v1.3 firmware can be downloaded and installed using our xOS technology at www.omegaweblink.com.

Douglasville, Georgia – September 12th, 2019 – Omega's product development team announces Enhancements to the 70-Series Excalibur Remote Start line. Firmware version V1.6 is already available on OmegaWebLInk.com.

The 70-Series is already Omega’s most advanced Remote-Start line ever. Omega takes a populist stance by including high end & high-leverage features across the entire line, including the “entry” price-point systems. No other maker packs the entire product line with the latest tech. Most other brands eliminate flexibility by stripping “entry level” systems and force you to reinstall when customers want to upgrade to mid-level or high-level capabilities.

All Omega “Excalibur” 70-Series units are updateable. Easily flash the main unit’s firmware by using our OL-LOADER USB cable and OmegaWeblink.com. Your inventory will never be obsolete. Stop waiting until the next shipment for bug fixes or vehicle compatibility enhancements.

Enhancements include:

  • The main unit’s Firmware version is now indicated by the LED upon power up.
  • Horn output (User Feature #5) now defaulted to Human Panic mode for guaranteed attention when the alarm is triggered. Stand out from the rest.
  • Vehicle Learn now has improved timing windows to make programming on Push-To-Start Vehicles a breeze.
  • New Sensor Test Mode allows installers to quickly dial in any added sensors and test all trigger zones without repeated arming & disarming. Unique chirps are given for each zone. It also allows for quick diagnosing of false triggering and stuck zones.

70-Series highlights:

All Omega 70-Series models include a Patented Vehicle Learn procedure that automatically adapts to the vehicle’s unique properties. It will identify all connected IGNITION, ACCESSORY, & START circuits and reconfigure its outputs to match the vehicle. It will poll any accessories or bypass modules connected to the data ports & automatically switch to the matching protocol. It will also identify & utilize the best available engine detection method (data tach, analog tach wire, or progressive voltage sensing) & automatically sample idle rpm (when needed). Click here or visit our YouTube channel to watch a video on how simple Vehicle Learn really is.

With 70-Series, Omega is first in adding a built-in Accelerometer to the antenna (Patented). All “3D” models are equipped with a 3D accelerometer BUILT into the window mount antenna for extra safety when manual transmission starting. If during the remote start attempt the accelerometer senses any movement, it will abort the attempt. Having the 3D accelerometer in the window mounted antenna is far superior to having it as a plug-in sensor due to its isolated & rigid install location. It won’t be susceptible to normal engine vibration that can cause a false positive, shutting down your remote start attempt. This is a major refinement in the user experience.

All 70-Series models come standard with "Low-Temperature" start, “High-Temperature” start & "Low-Battery Voltage" start, even our "entry level units". Both high and low temp auto start have selectable thresholds for full customization.

All 70-Series Starters have Two Independent Self-Learning Dataports, so you never need to hardware your telematics devices. Both support iDatalink & DBI protocols, so you can mix & match the modules and telematics devices you’re plugging in. Systems with a "B" in the part number also feature a BLADE slot for use with our BLADE interface cartridges (OL-BLADE-AL64 or OL-BLADE-TB) offering the cleanest install possible.

All 70-Series Starters are flashable using a PC and the OmegaWebLInk.com site. This means that the installer can update the remote start unit’s firmware, and set the programmable features. This is insurance against inventory obsolescence.

All  70-Series Starters running V1.5 or higher are Plug & Play compatible with 3rd party telematics platforms such as “Linkr”, “My Car” & “DRONE”. You can put Excalibur Remote Start units at the core of every install and still offer the exact desired customer experience.

Excalibur 70-Series features select "1+1 button" models:  Industry wide, the 1-Button remote control is attractive to users who desire a smaller remote, and fewer unused buttons. As this 1-Button segment grows, but more commands are added to the 1-Button remote control, users have to remember an array of button press combinations to activate different functions. The 1+1 button remote is ideal for pickup truck installations and eliminates functional confusion of 1-button keyless entry/start systems.

For example, traditional 1-button remotes require press and release for START, press & hold for Lock/Unlock, or press 2 times within 3 seconds for????. Also, multiple button presses and Press & Hold combinations can reduce the remote’s transmitting range.  The 1+1 remote solves this by offering the traditional large START button, and also a smaller dedicated Lock/Unlock button without increasing the size of the traditional 1-Button remote. It maximizes transmitting range and offers an intuitive and user friendly experience.

All 70-Series Omega remote start units have a built-in Security Suite (defaulted OFF in all “RS” models). It can be enabled with no additional labor if the interface module you use provides door/hood/trunk trigger status. It can also be layered for more protection by adding the AU-84TDPB “data” Shock sensor. Actually, whenever a sensor is connected to any “RS” model, the alarm functions will be automatically enabled. The AU-84TDPB has analog door status inputs in case the interface module used does not provide door status for “RS” models without door trigger inputs. Thus every Omega 70-Series starter can be turned into an Alarm/Remote Start COMBO unit.

"3D" units are 2-way Ready, that means that all 1-Way "3D" units come with a 2-way antenna! So to upsell the sale, just learn in a compatible 2-way controller like our 1511-03 enhanced 2-way LED hand held controller.

Omega's 70-Series is the most advance Remote Start in the industry, bar none. It’s as installer friendly and user friendly as any system can get with the flexibility to meet any desire. And since every unit is flashable, you can keep your unit current with the latest updates, insuring you are utilizing the latest tech available.
