VOXX Electronics Enhances Drivers Field of View with Newly Introduced Back-Up Camera Systems

HAUPPAUGE, NEW YORK – SEPTEMBER 29, 2016 -–VOXX Electronics Corporation (VEC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of VOXX International Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX), announced today another expansion to the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) product line with the introduction of two new high-performance back-up cameras offering wider viewing angles and trajectory parking grid-lines that move.

“According to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration a final ruling has been issued requiring rear visibility technology in all new vehicles by May 2018.  This new rule enhances the safety of these vehicles by significantly reducing the risk of fatalities and serious injuries caused by back over accidents.  We have been one of the first companies in the aftermarket to provide safety accessories as part of our product offerings and with even more visibility being place upon driver safety products today we remain committed to continuously growing this product category to the aftermarket,” said Aron Demers, Vice President, VOXX Electronics Corporation.

The ACA801 and ACA501 cameras offer a high performance 1089 HD CCD lens with sensors that create high output results with cleaner, higher quality images than past CMOS cameras.  These cameras feature a 180-degree wide-angle field of view offering great visibility with virtually zero blind spots and the high sensitivity optics provide excellent low-light performance for maximum visibility after dark.  Additionally, both cameras feature selectable image: normal/mirror, waterproof rating of IP68 and are compatible with PAL/NTSC systems.

License Plate Mounted Back-Up Camera (ACA801) features selectable trajectory parking grid-lines that move for distance measurement and includes a license plate bracket and butterfly mount for easy installation.

Universal Mount Back-Up Camera (ACA501) features selectable on-screen built-in parking lines for distance measurement.  The ACA501 includes a low-profile metal housing for easy mount and low maintenance.

Additionally, both cameras feature selectable image: normal/mirror, waterproof rating of IP68 and are both designed to work with any monitor/screen with an RCA video input (sold separately).

The ACA801 and ACA501 are available at 12 Volt Retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $139 and $129, respectively.

Adding another level of safety to the vehicle by enhancing the driver’s field of view

HAUPPAUGE, NEW YORK – SEPTEMBER 20, 2016 -–VOXX Electronics Corporation announced the expansion of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) product line with the introduction of the first aftermarket Blind Spot Detection system (ACABSD) using microwave based detection with approximately 30 feet of range. The system enhances the drivers field of view and acts as an extra set of eyes around the vehicle.

“Today there is a growing interest being place upon driver safety products and our ADAS product line reflects the importance we feel in delivering safety accessories to the aftermarket,” said Aron Demers, Vice President, VOXX Electronics Corporation.  “We are continuously looking to expand our product offerings and the introduction of the first aftermarket Blind Spot Detection system demonstrates our committed to growing this product category to deliver new and innovative solutions to the aftermarket.”

The Blind Spot Detection sensors supplement the vehicle’s interior and exterior rear-view mirrors and notifies the driver with audible and visual alerts when approaching vehicles and/or objects appear in the blind spot area. The sensors are equipped with adjustable speed sense and will activate at the chosen speed, turning the ACABSD on when it is needed reducing false alarms when stopped at a light or moving at slower speeds. The system is easy to install – mounts behind the bumper, no drilling required.

The ACABSD is available now for an MSRP of $799.00.
