UTV Rollbar Cage Side Mirrors with LED Spotlights

The MPS-RBSVMS is a universal accessory that functions as both a forward-facing spotlight and side mirror to increase the driver’s overall visibility. The anti-glare mirrors with a wide-angle viewing convex are constructed with aluminum alloy housing and rated IP68 to withstand the demands of the off-road environment. Anderson, an Industry Expert in Mobile Electronics Integration, will Help Metra Continue to Grow New Product Lines

Holly Hill, FL - September 2017 – Metra Electronics® has announced the addition of Jason Anderson as vice president of research and development. Anderson will oversee new product lines, further filling out its team of mobile electronics industry veterans in the company's corporate headquarters in Holly Hill, Fla. He will focus on accelerating innovation and growth for all of Metra’s 12 Volt brands by leading new product line development.

A 1997 graduate of Metra’s Installer Institute, Anderson went on to spend 11 years at the school, becoming a Master Certified MECP instructor - and later director, holding all certifications. During his time at the Installer Institute he contributed to the growth of the school’s mobile electronics program, building it from a 4 week course to 10 weeks, along with expanding to a new, larger facility. A truly dedicated individual and a staple to the electronics field, Anderson has trained thousands of installers, including those graduates who have gone on to become Installer of the Year, and many who are now business owners or well known installers in the industry. He has traveled to India on three separate month-long excursions as an ambassador of the school, training a total of 180 installers.

Anderson also helped to create the Mobile Electronics Schools Association, or MESA. This program provides graduates with certification of their skill level via hands-on testing instead of standardized written tests. MESA certification is beneficial to installers throughout their careers, and helps employers identify candidates for employment who have proven their ability and aptitude in hands-on mobile electronics installations.

A 2005 recipient of the MECP industry leader award, Anderson has much to offer in his new role at Metra Electronics. Media accolades include the creation of 14 training videos for the Installer Institute, authoring instructional manuals, and numerous articles in PASMag - as well as other prestigious publications. Anderson has been instrumental in the training of US government agents in servicing presidential vehicles and has also trained Special Operations teams with skills they can use to combat terrorism.

Personal endeavours include owning a successful car audio installation business, located in Ormond Beach, FL - where he oversaw marine, home, and vehicle dealership services. Jason has also built custom show cars, including the “Black Death Escalade” which is featured on the Installer Institute’s website.

OCTOBER 2016: HOLLY HILL, FL – Metra’s Heise LED brand of lighting systems introduces new LED headlight and fog light sets specifically designed for 1997- current Jeep Wranglers, as well as single headlights and fog light sets for motorcycles. These new DOT (Department of Transportation) approved LED lights from Heise are water and dust resistant (IP rating 67) making them ready for any road.

The 7-inch round Jeep Wrangler headlights with CREE LEDs outshine the factory lights. Choose from either a black or silver front face, with either a full halo, or partial halo with a turn signal. The 4-inch fog light sets are also available with either a black or silver front face, or black with a white “angel eye” halo that connects to the lights of the vehicle.

The motorcycle headlights are available in either a 7-inch or 5.6-inch option. Choose from either a black or silver front face, with either a full halo, or partial halo with a turn signal. Fog lights and auxiliary sets measure 4.5-inch, and come in either a black or silver front face, with an option for a halo ring. Also built with CREE LEDs, these headlights are extremely bright and tough. The polycarbonate lens cover is considered to be virtually unbreakable by the company.

By using Metra’s patented Auto-Detect protocol and patent-pending design for a touchscreen based vehicle interface, these new kits will lead the aftermarket radio industry into the future. The 99-5839CH kit is for Ford Mustang models 2010 - 2014, and can be installed with the radio up top or down below. The HE-JWSTL replaces the spare tire light with a higher output brake light that mounts to the factory hub behind the spare wheel and connects to the brake light circuit. The 85 LEDs behind a tinted lens provide a more uniformed light output, compared with other brake lights on the market which use fewer and larger LEDs, resulting in a spotty beam pattern. 5x7” and 4x6” LED Replacement Headlights:

Heise is introducing new LED replacement headlights in 5x7” (HE-5X7B1 Black, HE-5X7S1 Silver) and 4x6” (HE-4X6B1 Black, HE-4X6S1 Silver) sizes, commonly used to retrofit older Jeeps, trucks and classic cars. Jeep Reverse Camera and Spare Tire Mounting Bracket:

The iBEAM TE-AJPKT is designed for Jeep Wrangler 2007-2017 models and the 2018 Jeep JK*, fitting a wide range of spare tire setups. This bendable bracket is versatile, adapting to different configurations so installers can set the ideal viewing angle for a variety of factory and aftermarket spare tires. It allows 110 degrees of swing, side by side with an additional 2 ½ inches of travel at the head of the bracket. Brackets for Jeep Wrangler JL and JK

New light mounting solutions for Jeep Wrangler JL and JK models are an addition to the multitude of brackets currently offered from Metra. The JP-JFOG is a versatile fog light bracket for 2018-up* Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon, 2009-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Hard Rock, Rubicon X and the 10th Anniversary Edition models. The 7-gauge powder coated steel brackets include gaskets and mounting hardware.

CAN-BUS Decoders for Jeep Wrangler JL, JK, TJ and YJ models

Heise® has added two new CANBUS decoders, the HE-PSX24D designed to work with its existing HE-PSX24LED single-beam bulb kit for the Jeep Wrangler JL and JK models, and the HE-H3D, designed to work with the HE-H3LED single-beam bulb kit for Jeep Wrangler TJ and YJ models. The new CAN-BUS decoders have simple plug-n-play connections and are designed for vehicles with a CAN-BUS system to monitor the headlights and stops them from flashing.

Taillights for Jeep Wrangler JK and TJ Models

Two new taillights that give Jeep Wranglers a more rugged look are being introduced to complement Heise’s existing lineup. The LED LUX taillights (JP-TL03T) for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models incorporate a turn signal, brake light and running light. With a total of 42 watts, 21 LEDs and a 30-watt high-output reverse light, these taillights are a powerful upgrade. The new JP-TL04T taillights for 1998-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models have a built-in license plate light in addition to turn signal, reverse, brake and running lights. With a total of 46 watts and 23 LEDs, these taillights are sure to shine bright and maintains the overall rugged look of the TJ body style. Holly Hill, Fla. – August 28, 2019 – Axxess by Metra Electronics® is now shipping the next generation AX-DSP-X Digital Signal Processor, two plug-n-play packages for Ford A2B amplifiers and two plug-n-play harnesses for Volkswagen. This new series was first announced at CES 2019 to expand and improve the original AX-DSP product line. Compared to the original AX-DSP, the new AX-DSP-X has 10 individually assigned output channels and an option to password protect settings via the Axxess DSP app for phones and tablets. It still includes chime control and digital amplifier turn-on capability, along with all of the other features of the original patented AX-DSP, (which had a 6 channel output without password protection settings). This new product replaces the original AX-DSP and works will all of the existing harnesses.

Complete Tuning Control: Installers will have full control to fine-tune each of the 10 channel outputs individually, controlled via Bluetooth® in the free app. The app makes tuning easy with a 31 band graphic EQ and up to 10ms time delay for each channel, with independent high, low and bandpass filters. Once tuning has been completed, installers can password protect their settings to prevent anyone else from adjusting and the information is stored for future recall.

Retain Features with a Built-in Interface: Utilizing Axxess’s data interface technology, the AX-DSP-X goes beyond what a traditional DSP can do and retains many of the features commonly lost when upgrading a sound system. Voice prompts, parking sensor chimes and other factory chimes are retained with adjustable volume control that many traditional DSPs cannot offer. This is a cost-effective solution for customers who want to retain their factory radio and improve their vehicle sound quality, while still retaining systems like SYNC® or OnStar®.

DSP Packages

Axxess's new DSPL and DSPX packages fit select Chrysler, Lincoln, BMW, and GM vehicles, including industry-leading solutions designed for Ethernet amplifiers in BOSE sound systems. These products feature combined digital signal processor and Interface technologies that allow installers to upgrade their music experience and customize their sound system. The DSP reflashes the OE radio and gives full tuning control from the palm of your hand. It is designed to integrate with factory audio systems and offers easy sound system expansion. Axxess' DSPL series provides six channels of output and a 15-band graphic EQ per channel, while the DSPX series features 10 channels of output and a 31-band graphic EQ per channel. Vehicle-Specific DSP T-Harnesses

Another exciting announcement from Axxess are new vehicle-specific DSP T-harnesses, designed to fit select BMW, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, and more. These harnesses offer an "a la carte" option for installers where they can use them to fit their unique needs or pair them with Axxess' DSPX or DSPL packages. Amp Retention Interfaces            

Axxess is debuting two new amp retention interfaces at SEMA; one designed to retain the Harmon Kardon® amplifier in select European vehicles such as BMW and Porsche, and one designed to retain the BOSE amplifier in select GM vehicles. These add-on amplifier interfaces are used when replacing the factory radio, such as with Metra's dash kits. These interfaces also retain the balance audio feature when replacing the factory radio and are Micro “B” USB updatable.

START/STOP Engine Override Interface

Axxess expands its AXSSO series with a new START/STOP engine override interface for select 2020-Up* Chrysler vehicles. This interface automatically disengages the STOP/START engine feature. The setting remains even after the key has been cycled, and the factory STOP/START button can resume the STOP/START feature once again. This exclusive and patented technology works with factory or aftermarket radios and is programmed through the Axxess Updater software program. This interface has weather-resistant housing and harnessing with plug-n-play installation under the hood.

AXTC Interfaces              

A new Interface has been added to Axxess' Total Control Series, designed for use when replacing the radio in select Ford 2015-2018* vehicles. These products utilize patented Auto-Detect technology that automatically detects the vehicle type, radio connection, and preset controls, while allowing the ability to dual-assign steering wheel controls. It provides NAV outputs, accessory power, and a 12-volt illumination output, in addition to retaining R.A.P., and balance and fade. The Axxess Total Control Series is a universal solution designed to work with all major radio brands and both amplified and non-amplified audio systems. They can be manually programmed for most vehicles and will retain settings even after battery disconnection or interface removal.

Vehicle-Specific Line Output Converters

Axxess is introducing an assortment of new vehicle-specific line output converters designed to fit select BMW, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, and more. These LOCs feature T-harnesses that install quickly and make it easy for installers to add an amplifier for subwoofers or speakers to a factory radio. They are designed to provide (2) channels of low-level audio output from the factory system, with 55 watts per channel. A Gain Controller is included to adjust overall output, and they are 12v-500mA remote wire activated with signal sense.

Holly Hill, FL - April 2018 – iBeam Vehicle Safety Systems by Metra Electronics® has released a new DVR kit that simultaneously captures video in both the front and rear of the vehicle, with infrared assisted night vision on the front camera. The TE-IFD kit will improve driver visibility, both day and night, supporting 1080p HD recording in the front and 720p recording for the rear camera. For front night vision recording, 720p is supported.

iBeam’s latest DVR kit connects to the vehicle display from the DVR’s video RCA output. Drivers can select to view the front day, front night, or rear-view camera feed. This kit also connects to a smartphone, where users who are connected to Wi-Fi can view a live recording of the vehicle’s surroundings via the free mobile app, available for Apple and Android devices. The mobile app also allows the user to adjust settings or view videos and pictures recorded from the DVR.

For security purposes, a motion sensor can be activated to monitor activity while the vehicle is parked and left unattended*. A built-in g-force sensor detects collisions and locks the captured video content to prevent it from being overwritten. 6-Zone Switch Panel

Metra PowerSports is reintroducing the latest 6-zone switch control box for universal powersports applications such as UTV/ATV and golf carts. The MPS-SW6 offers two control options: switch knockout or app-controlled. This IP67 water-resistant rating switch box features the latest MOSFET™ chips designed for harsh environments and offers 700-watt power handling capability. It features a 6-button Carling-style switch and a Polaris® switch adapter. It is controlled via the MPS Switch app on compatible smartphones or tablets. The app features two strobe pattern options, a music sync setting, adjustable brightness on each channel, and more.

4 AWG High Current Quick Disconnect Power Block

The MPS-3PB is a durable, quick disconnect that allows for convenient, safe installation and servicing of amps, active subwoofers, or removable winches in powersport and marine applications. This product is designed for use in the harshest environments, unlike standard audio equipment that is not suited for off-road applications. 4-Piece Chasing LED Golf Cart Canopy Kit

The MPS-CHASE-CPY can transform any golf cart into a vibrant spectacle of colorful light. Designed exclusively to fit golf cart canopies, this innovative kit includes two 36" chasing LED strips, two 8" chasing LED strips, mounting hardware, and, from Heise LED Lighting, the Heise Connect controller. The strips are durable and rated IP65, ensuring long-lasting performance and a brilliant glow for countless future rides. MPS has designed this kit to work cohesively with all Heise chasing LED lighting as part of the Heise Connect Universe (HCU). Headlights for Victory® Motorcycles and AX-DSP T-Harnesses To Be Introduced

Holly Hill, Fla. – October 25, 2018 – Heise LED Lighting Systems® by Metra Electronics® is introducing their first replacement LED headlights designed for Victory Motorcycles® at the 2018 SEMA Show. Two new Axxess AX-DSP plug-n-play harnesses and a dash kit designed for Harley-Davidson® will also join the growing line of custom motorcycle audio accessories under the new Metra PowerSports® brand. “Motorcycle owners are looking for better options to replace their factory lights and sound systems, but need solutions designed specifically for their vehicle applications. Metra PowerSports is excited to introduce even more products this year for Harley-Davidson, and now our brand’s first-ever replacement headlights for Victory Motorcycles,” said Angelo Margotta, Director of Product Development for Metra PowerSports.

Replacement LED Headlights for Victory Motorcycles

Heise’s new headlights are designed for Victory 2007-2015 Cross-Country, Cross-Country Tour, Cross Roads, and Hard Ball motorcycle models. To give riders extra visibility, the replacement LED headlights feature a 60-watt high beam and 40-watt low beam that produce 3,450 and 2,800 lumens, respectively. The headlights are made with a virtually unbreakable polycarbonate lens and have die-cast aluminum housing. The lights have a 6500k color temperature, are easy to install and will be available in silver (HE-VICS1) or black (HE-VICB1).

Axxess AX-DSP Harnesses for Harley-Davidson

At the 2017 SEMA Show, Axxess introduced their first digital signal processor with a built-in interface and patented technology, the AX-DSP. Since its introduction, Axxess has released vehicle-specific plug-n-play harnesses and complete kits for a wide range of cars, trucks and SUVs. Now, Axxess is expanding the AX-DSP product line to include harnesses for Harley-Davidson motorcycles from 1998 to current models. The AX-DSP-HD1 is designed for Harley-Davidson 1998-2013 applications and the AX-DSP-HD2 is for with 2014-up* models. Both T-harnesses work with the AX-DSP, sold separately, to save installers anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes of labor time, when upgrading the sound system.

Metra TurboKit® for Harley-Davidson

Metra Electronics has designed a new dash kit for Harley-Davidson 2014-up* Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra and Limited models and 2015-up* Road Glide models. The 95-9700 has been designed to fit ISO Double-DIN radios that have an “L” shaped chassis with the radio chassis at the top of the screen. Currently, only the Sony XAV-AX100, XAV-AX200 and XAV-AX500 radios utilize this design.

These new motorcycle accessories will join Metra PowerSports’ growing line of aftermarket lighting, audio and installation accessories. Earlier this year, the 95-HDIF Replacement Inner Fairing for Harley-Davidson began shipping, along with three different styles of replacement speaker bag lids. A two and four channel motorcycle amp kit was also released this summer, and Axxess began shipping the HD-ASWC1 Steering Wheel Control Interface designed to retain the audio controls on handlebars for 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson models (with handlebar radio controls). “The new AX-DSP harnesses will round out our line of aftermarket accessories for Harley-Davidson, allowing owners to upgrade their sound system with a cost-effective yet powerful DSP solution,” says Margotta.

2018 SEMA Show New Product Rollout

Holly Hill, Fla. – October 23, 2018 – Metra PowerSports® by Metra Electronics® is introducing new audio, lighting and aftermarket accessories for off-road powersports applications at the 2018 SEMA Show. Adding to their black 6.5” Can Speakers with RGB Lights, Metra will now have 8” Can Speakers with additional marine options in both sizes. A new line of High-Power Class D Micro-Amplifiers will also be introduced with two, four and five channel options. For the Polaris® RZR and General, replacement halo ring LED headlights will be available in white or an RGB option. Additional off-road accessories for ATVs, UTVs and side-by-sides include universal and vehicle-specific driving light brackets, along with rollbar mounts. “Metra has taken their expertise in audio and lighting accessories and engineered new powersports solutions to offer better aftermarket products for the off-road enthusiast,” says Angelo Margotta, Director of Product Development for Metra PowerSports.

6.5” and 8” Can Speakers with RGB Lights:

Rugged, UV-protected Can Speakers with RGB Lights feature a durable high-temperature ABS housing with a dual wall design. The speakers are constructed from polypropylene and the tweeters are PEI (Polyetherimide). The speakers are designed to handle water, dust and all the elements, while still delivering great sound performance, with an IP rating of IPX6 for both models. A 3” passive radiator provides extended bass response for great sound performance. The impedance is 4 ohms with a 6dB passive crossover, frequency response from 60Hz to 20 KHz and a sound pressure level of 90dB.As an added feature, the speakers include RGB lighting that can be connected to MPS-RGBC-4 controllers (sold separately). For versatile mounting options, they come with two mounting clamps with rubber inserts for four different sizes. The black powersports speakers have 1.5", 1.75", 1.875" and 2" clamps while the white marine speakers have 2”, 2.25", 2.5, and 2.75" sized clamps. The speakers can also be rotated and repositioned for optimal sound performance. Available in 6.5” or 8” sizes in white marine (MPS-65WCSRGB, MPS-8WCSRGB) or black powersports (MPS-65CSRGB, MPS-8CSRGB) options.

High-Power Class D Micro-Amplifiers:

Metra PowerSports is also introducing three new IPX6 rated micro-amplifiers designed for harsh environments. The two, four and five channel amplifiers are bridgeable to provide more flexibility and have an impressive power rating. The full range class D circuit designs using IR controller/pre-driver chipset technology provides the best performance in their category and are not prone to channel crosstalk or FM interference. Waterproof connections and terminations are equally important for these powersports amplifiers. The input side of the amplifier has an 8’ cable with an IP68 connector that is designed to plug directly into the MPS-BTK1 Bluetooth® Controller (sold separately). For use without the MPS-BTK1, the amplifiers come with a pigtail that allows the user to connect any radio or Bluetooth® controller with an RCA output. The power cables are 8’ long with a waterproof fuse holder to reach any battery location, whether it be in a side-by-side, ATV, UTV, boat or motorcycle.

Extreme LED Halo Headlights for Polaris RZR/General:

Super-bright LEDs will make trail riding safer with added visibility compared to standard factory headlights. Metra PowerSports’ replacement headlights feature CREE XTE LED chip technology for a powerful 4,800 lumens high beam and 3,600 lumens low beam with a 60-watt halo ring. For extra customization, the MPS-RZ1RGB has white, red, green, pink and RGB halo colors with 121 different flashing patterns and millions of color combinations. The RGB colors on the halo ring and flashing modes are controlled wirelessly with a Bluetooth® app controller via any smartphone. It has black housing and a black reflector. The MPS-RZ1LEDH has a single-color white angel eye halo controlled by the trigger wire, with black housing and a chrome reflector. Both models are easy to install, use the existing harness and mounts, and require no modifications of the vehicle.

Rollbar Mounts

To mount aftermarket horizontal lightbars, auxiliary lights or safety flags onto rollbars, Metra PowerSports is introducing three new mounts in 3”, 1 3/16” and 2” sizes; the MPS-C02, MPS-C03 and MPS-C04. These mounts are made from high-strength billet aluminum that will never rust and have a durable crinkle coat finish to withstand the harshest weather conditions. They come with rubber inserts that allow the clamp to be held steadfast while protecting the mounting surface. The mounts provide precision alignment with 360 degrees of custom adjustability and work with most LED lightbars that have 6mm/8mm mounting bolts. The diameter sizes offered fit most bull bars or roll cages on Rhino®, Polaris RZR®, Teryx®, CAN-AM® or Jeep® applications.

Light Brackets for ATVs, UTVs and Off-road Applications

Metra PowerSports is offering three new universal light brackets allowing for mounting aftermarket lightbars onto the bull bar, front bumper, hood, windshield or roll cage of off-road powersports applications. An installer-friendly design is engineered for a direct and easy bolt-on installation without any drilling, cutting or modifications. These brackets have high-carbon stamped steel material with a durable, weather-resistant black crinkle coat finish. Seven vehicle-specific light brackets are also being introduced with the same durable construction and crinkle powder coating. For ultimate performance, Heise LED Lightbars are recommended, but these brackets will work with a variety of aftermarket lighting brands.
